A bit pitchy, especially on that one run ... but she's got a powerful voice.

The dancers did detract though, and she looked bored while they were there.

But it is across both shows. For something called "the Voice", I would expect a stronger focus on singing.

If Frenchie sings "And I'm telling you", I'll take three shots.

The good thing about the popularity is that if they decide to recast the coaches each season ... I really don't think they're going to have any trouble getting good talent.

The initial decline of the fifth episode to 8 million had a lot of people scared. It shed 2 mil in one week, but then with last week's episode the ratings rose by 6 mil to 14 million viewers total. I think it's fair to say this show isn't going anywhere. Especially now with the live rounds.
 
This episode has already been a million times better than AI's finale. Enjoying every minute of it. : )

I'll probably vote for Dia and Patrick this week for Team Blake. But I really do love the whole team. Whoever people vote for, there's no way they could have made a mistake. I might vote for Xenia too if I feel like it.

For Team Christina, just Lily for now.
 
Frenchie is singing this like some gay anthem. Probably the most I've liked her, honestly.

Pretty weak episode but that's to be expected from the 2 weakest teams. Dia and Beverly were the best. Everyone else pretty much sucked...Xenia has a cool voice but she can't DO anything with it. Casey Weston is gonna win this thing.
 
Has anyone (in Canada) been able to get a single vote in via phone lines?

Edit: I know that the said at the end of the show, but I thought maybe I could after the first US airing was over. Maybe not.

Here's my voting breakdown as it stands now, only tried online (works great):

Dia Frampton - 10 Votes
Lily Elise - 10 Votes
Patrick Thomas - 10 Votes
Frenchie Davis - 5 Votes
Xenia Martinez - 2 Votes

I'll probably keep this ratio when the lines open up (i'd prefer the top 3 stay over any others). You can vote 'til Monday guys, just wait for the lines to cool down a bit.

I feel bad for Xenia, but she's got to find her footing.

I get worried when watching her sing, like she's gonna bolt at any second.

I do not get the idea of voting for more than one person / team. Not only are you spending more $, you're simultaneously diminishing your top pick's chances to advance.

The audience only gets one save per team.

Because you're favorite might lose despite you're best efforts, so you stagger the votes for the next most. It really comes down to chance. Besides, what happens if the judges save your favorites, then your votes were for not.

Yeah, it's free. It asks for an email and to sign an agreement. I haven't got an email yet, but I'm sure it's how they track your votes. Kind of weird if you ask me.

As long as we're talking about online voting, okay. (I'm used to the NBC / Last Comic Standing way of doing things, where you only had a limited # of total votes.) I could even see 'voting' on iTunes for multiple artists if you like multiple songs enough, as the vote is more of a bonus.

I've never understood pay-per-call voting, even back in the day of dial Mtv.

Wow, Dia, wow. Amazing performance. Really blew me away and should wrap up her spot going forward.

In non-Dia related performances, it's really hard not to root for Xenia, but man it's tough trying to cater to her voice in this kind of format. I would listen to an album of her voice, but I'm not sure a live venue at this point in her life can showcase her ability. She just looks so terrified. Blake really seems to dote on her though and it's awful cute.

There was a big improvement from the battle rounds which I guess is to be expected due to its format. Everyone but Raquel sounded better. Raquel is bad. Raquel is really, really bad. Raquel is worse than Rochelle Rochelle. Frenchie was Frenchie, Patrick was Patrick (underrated by a lot of people, one of the strongest voices on the show), Beverly was Beverly. As much as I was ready to hate Jared, Blake picked a great song for him and he did just about as a good a job as you could ask. It was almost indistinguishable from the actual song--not that I ever wanted to hear the song again. The problem being he still can't sing. Lilly got better but just doesn't have what Frenchie and Beverly bring to the table.

I'm leaning Dia/Patrick from Blake's team and Frenchie/Beverley from Christina. Blake's song choice and choreography was miles and miles and miles better than Christina, as was his team. What everyone here is saying about the dance routines her team was put in is true, just a terrible decision.

But! I have tickets for next week and am super hyped for Javier/Jeff!
 
I'm really impressed with this show and most of the performances were excellent. Most singers were far better than this Idol season and Dia was my favorite by far tonight. I wish they had a second night as a week wait until the next episode is a bit long.
 
I've seen some people saying Dia's version of Heartless is the same as Kris Allen's from Idol a few years ago.

Looked it up on YouTube... Yeah, no. It's totally different.
 
Xenia hasn't sung a Norah Jones song yet? Am I the only one who sees the obvious comparison? I guess it's not the right show for that kind of music. I was really rolling my eyes at the Kesha song.

That would be wise for Blake to pick if she makes it into the top 8.

The Voice's live shows debuted tonight and the voting is kind of lame, but hey, what the hell? You can vote up to 10 times per artist, meaning we can vote split without hurting someone else, since we get to save one person from each team. She killed the momentum of the show each time she was on TV, so that needs to continue. On Team Christina, you should vote for Raquel Castro at 1-855-864-2301. Her performance of "Blow" was just horrible and fun. Voting is open via phone and also at nbc.com until Monday, June 13. Remember, it's 10 votes per artist per method, so vote for Raquel and Xenia 10 times using each method (then make up more fake email addresses and vote more).
