So according to the article, part of the reason Alien 3 and 4 were so bad was because of input from Weaver? Didn't know that.

Man, but what about a movie about the Space Jockey Homeworld and the origin of the Xeno. I want my movie of Giger landscapes and horrors followed by everybody dying in horrible ways, the end.

Meh, we'll see if it's good it will definitely have a decent budget for special effects work since it is Neil Blomkamp.

This. So tired of ripley being the focal point. The series should have been about the xenos, pure alien terror, not a bug hunt. Aliens was a good movie but reduced the alien to a monster to be hunted. I know prometheus is sorta about them but fuck that POS movie. So much wasted potential. I don't mind them erasing 3/resurrection but I was hoping for a new direction for the series not aliens 2.

My prediction is so very close to coming true!

Huh. I buy this.

Gleefully awaiting Alienated starring Carrie Henn and co. awakening to an Earth surrounded by Queen-ravaged space stations. Only one aging couple and their precocious 40 yo adopted daughter can hear Earth scream.

X-Men is the most recent example. If anything, the success of that probably inspired Fox to go ahead with this half-reboot for Alien.

X-Men applies for sure, but with an asterisk. It still acknowledges that Last Stand happened and even has footage from it in DOFP.

that's a bit different though, they acknowledged them and then used time travel to erase their events from history

Alien is just pretending these sequels don't exist
