As a long-term Halo fan, Infinite just looks generic. In fact it looks like a poor take on Doom Eternal. Gmanlive's review of it just compounded all my fears. The graphics are also barely XBOX One levels.

Clearly I'm not a hater but can somebody explain why it's so good? As much as I love the Bungie games, I felt that none of them really hit their potential. Halo 3 is the most complete but it is clearly an early HD title and while ODST is incredible, its clearly not a full on campaign. Can somebody convince me to give Infinite a shot. Thanks.

I wonder if we redo the GAF GOTY again if the results will stay the same like happened with 2008 and MGSIV… the votes were done again some years after and the results continued the same.

This years GAF results were a bit out of place.

Honestly, it's just a Google form so it's pretty easy to game the system for those who are so inclined. Therefore I actually put more stock in the Era GOTY ranking and they probably align more with my taste anyway. Not a fan of enhanced editions of old games etc making the list either.

I did not look at ERA list before... it is more inline with most of critics and user votes outside GAF.
I mean the TOP contender are the same... it is just Village was ahead of others.
Plus It Take Two is too low compared with others places too.

PS. The surprise thing (or not) is ERA has the around same amount of the votes than GAF... that shows how much of the community they lose last year.
