My Saturday morning rounds at thrift stores and bargain bins:

It was looking to be a bad weekend, this was all that interested me for the longest time. The Bongos were $4 and Wolfenstein was 1/2 off for $1.50.

I kept looking and finally found some good deals at a goodwill. TJ&E 3 was half off, so $4. I almost passed on Ghost in The Shell, but i'm glad I didn't seeing the Ebay prices. I was pretty much done when I decided to get a drink at the local Fred Meyer and saw..............

On clearance for $45 after discounts. I usually don't go for collectors (excuse me, kollectors) editions like this, but I thought that was a fair price. I'm glad I kept looking.

I feel really bad for not buying the one my university bookstore had now, it was 20 but I had class so I didn't want to carry it around. :( I went back after and it was already bought.

This past weekend was BigWow Comic Fest here in the Bay and I took advantage of the fact that some of my favorite artists were going to be there. Honestly, the biggest highlight was having Steve Leialoha, one of the main pencillers/inkers from the Fables series, draw me a sketch. He was super nice and it was a huge honor, literally almost got me in tears. Adam Hughes being there was a huge plus and the primary reason I got tickets. Was able to get my favorite cover signed as well as his book and FINALLY got that Bayonetta print I've been eying.

Do you have more pictures of those Mass Effect statues?

WELL GUESS THE FUCK WHAT!?

(Sorry for my language I am excited!)

I got this today! Oh, how much did I get it for? Hmmm...FREE!!!

I went into Gamers for the game, and traded in a few games. Got $64 trade-in credit so I got the used copy of this (it was the only one in stock!) and a copy of Persona 4 (a game I've always wanted and finally found!). Fire Emblem was $37.95, Persona 4 was $27.95. Needless to say I get to the counter and pay with my card (knowing I'd need cash as well..) and the guy was like ok there's $36.05 on the card. I leave, but I was like, oh no he didn't mark fire emblem. Being the good citizen I am, I walked in and was like dude you didn't ring this up he was like seriously!? And I was like yeeeeees (this is how I have conversations). He's like well dude it's yours now, that was my mistake. I insisted he took it but he told me he was the manager and it was policy...

so... FREE GAME!!!

My haul from two Gamers in Des Moines and a Walmart (I know!):
EDIT: OH DANG SHE DUN FLIPPED

image0ckey.jpg

Xenosaga: Episode I strategy guide: $1.95 (beat up but it will look ok on my shelf)
Silpheed: The Lost Planet: $4.95
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona: 4 (PS2) $27.95 (I know I overpaid but I got fire emblem free from the same place so...no regrets!)
Fire Emblem: Awakening: Originally $37.95, what I got it for: FREE
Final Fantasy: Theatrhythm: $24.95
Scott Pilgrim VS. The World: Limited Edition Quad-pack (Blu, DVD, Ultraviolet, iTunes digital copy): $12.97 --- Came in a steelbook case and I'd never seen it before. Did universal studios reissue this or something, I wonder?

Got Fire Emblem and Persona 4 from one Gamers, the strategy guide, Silpheed, and Theatrhythm from the other one, and, of course, Scott Pilgrim from Walmart..I've bought the movie 3 times haha.

Nice, 21st Amendment has great beer. Their Back in Black is one of my favorites.

Yeah,

Saw that one today. I actually was going to go for their Barley Wine but was just not in the mood for four of those little guys. Sadly, this is great beer, but the cardamom is a bit mild. I cook with a lot of the seed and I don't really taste it.

I spoke with my brother, who works in downtown SF, and he said they went to the brewery a few weeks ago. The watermelon on tap is supposed to be exquisite. I'll be hitting it up next time I'm in SF! Usually I go to Peteluma/Santa Rosa for Russian River/Lagunitas/Bear Republic. I'll be staying in the city for sure.

Paris/San Diego prints by Terry Dodson (thanks again!) plus I bought a mat cutter from Michaels so I can finally start framing some of this stuff :D

Glow in the Dark Goodfellas and Casino prints from Spoke Art's Scorcese show.

Luigi's Mansion from Gamestop
Donkey Kong Country & Star Fox from K-Mart - they did a 15 dollar rewards points credit with a preorder, so got Donkey Kong for 34.99 then Star Fox for 1.80 after using up the 18.20 in rewards points

It really doesn't hurt, the thing was in it's box since almost 6 months. :p

So is MH3U-GAF community big? I'd like to do some quest with you soon! Only played 4 hours so far, I'll try to build a descent character before jumping online.

EDIT: Yo Evenball up there, you did well to buy that MK Kollector, I paid 100$ for this thing. D:

I paid good money for this Dynex!
how you doing with the arm rest? i have the same chair, but that leather is giving me rash... not sure if its just me.

Haven't had a problem with them. And I'm digging way into them with my elbows, and I have some Ong Bak-level sharp elbows. I'm finding them very comfortable, and certainly haven't gotten any rashes.

So, yesterday a friend of my mom's drops by for well wishes since I'd been in the hospital for a few weeks last month, but before she leaves she says she bought another storage locker a few weeks ago and there was some stuff she knew I was into and she wanted to give it to me as a get well sort of thing. So, yeah -- here's what was in the tote and box she dropped off.
The complete limited edition Samurai Seven set.
Batman:TAS and Batman Beyond
Voltron, Akira, and Appleseed
Original FMA Series + Movie, Guyver set, Ronin Warrior's set.
Samurai Champloo
Berserk set, S-Cry-Ed set, and some random volume of The Batman and Gunslinger Girls.

Think it's time to watch Berserk again, it's been years.

Wow, some serious blast from the past shit, there. The original Berserk DVDs (the one in the set you have there) are better than the remastered version, real deal.

I need to watch the series again, myself.

The Lego Store in Raleigh had them all. I almost got the big castle. The TRU has some of the new LOTR and Star Wars sets early but with a TRU markup.
I see, they're probably a Lego Store exclusive until the end of summer. Sigh, no Lego Stores here in Italy, bummer :(

Apartment was burglarized recently so I moved and I'm slowly upgrading all of my things. Everything including the TV stand was bought this month!

Nice pick-ups!

So sorry to hear about your old place being robbed. I bothers me to my core that some people feel that they have the right to steal the things that someone else worked hard for to obtain (sorry for the mini rant, lol).
