That drive is also cream of the crop and 3 times the speed. Now compare equivalent 2.4GBps drives.
The ability to be plugged into the X series of consoles. Especially the the most affordable current generation console™What features, plural, do other storage options lack?
Ease of use, hot swap, portability, built in coolingWhat features, plural, do other storage options lack?
The first 3 things you said are essentially the same thing hahahaha. Props on the last one, but other storage options don't lack cooling. It's an available add-on that doesn't add $150 to the drive.Ease of use, hot swap, portability, built in cooling
I mean, it was true for that certain user. You are not like them, if that's any consultation, lol. You're pretty chill for the most part.Ease of use, hot swap, portability, built in cooling

can swap out ease of use with tool-less install if that’s better. Hot swapping is its own thing, portabablity too (good lucky carrying around an m.2 drive in your pocket and hope it works when done). Most linked SSD don’t come with a heat shield that’s going to be required in a ps5, gonna need a big honker as well. The first 3 things you said are essentially the same thing hahahaha. Yeah.Jeeeezus. Just use cold storage.
Kinda funny cause you were sorta right on the 2tb one. It’s part of that Designed for Xbox Limited Series, you are paying extra for a badge on the boxI mean, it was true for that certain user. You are not like them, if that's any consultation, lol. You're pretty chill for the most part.
What?Which industry? Because in the console industry, the majority of hardware makers use easily swappable memory cards.
Do you not understand English? There’s three console makers. Two of those three use easily swappable memory card for increased storage. One doesn’t.What?
One use an industry standard (all players follow that standard).Do you not understand English? There’s three console makers. Two of those three use easily swappable memory card for increased storage. One doesn’t.
Nothing stops anyone from doing that on PS5 or Xbox. Both companies encourage it. MS is simply allowing a far more convenient method of upgrading storage that new games can be played off of. Convenience almost always comes at a cost.£400 for 2TB?
for £400 id want like 18TB like normal external hardrives.
Whats to stop people using cheaper/more storage external hardrives to store games rather thsn this seagate thing being stuck in the back of the XB?
So does proprietary licensed storage mediums. Historically.Convenience almost always comes at a cost.
Of course. And historically people show they will pay that premium for the sake of convenience. Apple thrives off of it.So does proprietary licensed storage mediums. Historically.

That's great.
It is not the PS5 option but the industry standard option.
Sony learned that in the hard way.
As if you had anyThere is no question the Xbox storage solution is clearly the most console like. The biggest con is the price. It is nice not needing any tools to upgrade the storage and being able to take your games to your friends house.
That's a pretty decent price for it, where was this from? Will eventually get a 2tb, the 1tb has been on sale frequently as low as £149 so I'll wait for the 2tb to go under £300 then bite.
Until then I have a 1tb already.
Oooo the burn. I bet it took you weeks to come up with that.As if you had any
Not gonna lie, I'll pay extra for convenience, that's kinda where I'm at. I already have like 3 1TB expansion drives already for my Series X, so I won't be needing this.
Ah so now you are changing from XSS specifically to the Xbox Series generally. Got it. Still doesn't explain why the XSS was specifically called out earlier but I'm certain it wasn't a sincere point. The biggest negative of these memory cards is the price. Outside of that it offers flexibility and features other storage options lack. In addition price is the best thing XSS has going for it making its mention in this thread about an expensive product even more puzzling.
Yeah, they learned it from the Vita backlashThis is one of the things Sony absolutely got right.
