New DMC4 Screens -- Does Wario say wow?

That area was really impressive! Fire beast destroying all buildings with his attacks, very impressive!

That costal area looked pretty bad though! Zero environmental l interactivity

I have absolutely no doubt this game will rock us to the ground!

But I can't help but feel disappointment when I remember those shots when Dante was in the snow and jumping with his sword that Capcom showed us.

God, after all these years I still get fooled by that crap.

People complaining about there only being two characters on screen are being pretty ridiculous. Have you never played a DMC game at all? The atmosphere is all about barren castles, dungeons, mansions etc etc. You aren't searching for demons in shopping malls.

pretty unimpressive. It reminds me of DMC3 in HD with a bit of bump mapping, hopefully the gameplay makes up for it.

Oh well, that´s what happens when you design a game as a multiplatform title, it just isn´t the best it could be.

It looks pretty damn good and if previous games are any indication, when you're in that boss fight, you're not exactly going to have time to be looking around.

What was impressive was in the Capcom Gamer's Day video, that boss battle was running smoothly at 60fps, whereas at TGS it was in SLOOOOOOOOOWMOTION.

Props to Capcom. Game will be kickass.

This doesn't look anything close to bad. It looks awesome, with a few less-than amazing textures (but plenty of good ones).

Lair 360 confirmed? Why slag a game just because it's multiplat?

Well, I believe than if the game had been coded specifically to the strenghts of the PS3, we would have received a much, much better looking game than. Nothing against multiplatform titles per se, but it just would have been so much better if Capcom hadn´t decided to whore the DMC franchise to all platforms.

Damn that really does look like Lost Planet. Pretty cool screens though never played any DMC games.. maybe this will be my first.

It would have looked the same as it does now because the game is still using the Framework Engine. This has nothing to do with the 360 port and everything to do with Capcom's approach to next gen.

You lack reading comprehension.

"I believe than if the game had been coded specifically to the strenghts of the PS3, we would have received a much, much better looking game"

That means no Framework engine, rather one specific to the PS3. I dislike Capcom´s multiplatform games, DMC4 looks like DMC3 in HD, with a couple of nice fire effects. Woohoo.

I'm not sure these pics look significantly different from the pics Sony guys were parading around a few months go, citing the power of Cell and yadda yadda yadda.

The game looks fantastic.

And a port (which by all accounts is being done with care) does not represent "whoring," nor do 2 platforms represent "all."

Bitter tears etc

It´s not bitter tears, but a pet peeve of mine. The DMC4 we were supposed to get on PS3 (the target render) looked INFINITELY better than....this. The game was designed as a game that could run on everything, and to me that´s whoring. If you want to make a port, that´s fine by me, but concentrate first on a single platform, make the game the best it could be and THEN port it.

And just like Lost Planet, I just don´t get the "looks fantastic" comments. Low res textures coupled with a lack of any "next gen" effects such as normal mapping with blocky looking characters and environments are not my thing. At least this one runs at 60fps.

At least.

It looks good to me. I don't see any blocky characters or anything. I do see a low res floor texture, but a lot of games have that.

Only bad thing that stuck out to me was the shadow in the last pic to the right. It's on the wall, and it looks... weird...

As I've consistently maintained sine before we even saw the first media of this game... it is nothing remotely special in the graphics department and it never will be. Oh Capcom, you really need to spruce up your engine, it's failing hard.
Indeed. RE4 HD total.

Not trying to troll here or anything but it looks unimpressive to me. Like somebody here said, it looks like DMC3 HD.

Im not saying this because it went multi since I've always said the game did not look good ever since the first GI shots, when it was "exclusive".

Im sure it will play quite well though, without a doubt.

"DMC3HD" is such bullshit.

unacceptable!!

for the people who dont like the graphics, compare it with DMC3. if you dont see the difference id make an appointment with an eye doctor, or order new lenses.

This scene will looks much better with all the flame effects running around, no doubts (is not that it looks bad now). The game looks great, we have already seen the playable demo, how hot the enviroment looks, how many characters are on screen and how many crazy effects are used on combat.

The game looks already great and, what is important too, I am are pretty sure it will rock gameplay wise. It´s a safe bet.

OK, the people saying this looks bad, DMC3HD, or no normal mapping are absolute fricking idiots. Especially the normal mapping guy - BALIEL IS FRICKING COVERED IN THEM! If you want to complain about a legitimate issue, why don't you whine about the utter lack of SHADOWS? You know, an ACTUAL problem with the graphics.

The haters seriously need to check their agendas at the door. It looks amazing and is the definition of "good art". Can't wait to see it in motion.

Holy shit, I thought the first pic was real-time picture taken from the game! "Impossible!" was the word that ran through my mind.

I think this thread has shown there is a new type of troll : "the, it doesn't look good cus its a multiplatform game" troll :lol

Simple thought process : Lost Planet looked great, Dead Rising looked great, DMC4 is with a more updated engine, 60 fps, better art design with a more talented development team with probably a larger budget. By natural logic, it'll look better than two already graphically revered titles.

What alternate reality do you exist in? Dead Rising looks horrible at all times EXCEPT super zoomed in cutscenes of the main characters. Ewww.

Why don't you mention a game with "awesome" ground textures then?

That boss and the whole area look really amazing. We've already seen it, it has some of the best fire effects and some of the best destruction I've ever seen.

Also, this has to be one of the very few times that in-game artwork not only does justice to, but actually looks better than the concept artwork.

I like the clean look. But why not drop it to 720p and adjust/add some light effects? Many of the people buying this game won't have full HD sets.

Nothing we haven't seen before in RE4.
