New Driveclub gameplay

I'm still not really sure what concern trolling is. Obviously that specific post seemed a little extreme, given every counter-point was highlighting an XBO positive, but someone could hold that opinion for real.

I sort of agree. I wish we didn't have to become so hostile to people who aren't as keen about the game, just because a few mods have (thankfully) decided to keep a closer watch. Suddenly I see many people bringing that up as an instant response. It comes across as an unwarranted threat. Doesn't set the right tone for the thread. If people are indeed concern trolling, let's either make counter arguments or ignore them. Mods will take care of keeping them in line if needed.

Can anyone with the Thrustmaster T500RS make a quick measurement? How much space is needed below the table?

I regularly use G27 on my PC table, but below table I have only 10cm of space. That is more than fine for Logitech, but T500RS and T300RS use this bigger connector.

Gimme a sec gotta find a measuring tape.

Someone posted a video, I think it was in this thread of someone sort of messing around with the physics of the game etc. Does anyone know where that video is?

Can't wait to see gameplay footage of this game when it launches. I'm definately picking up a PS4 for this when I move over to New Zealand early next year. Excited for you guys who are going to be getting this on launch day. Footage has been amazing. How long after launch will they release the weather and photomode patch? I hope its being released as one patch and not two seperate one's?

Yep, this happens a lot. If a post seems particularly incendiary I check their post history and the vast majority of the time the poster is just a cool dude or lady with a different opinion; no harm there. However, there are times when that history paints a picture of desperation. It seems that's the situation we're dealing with in regard to the person that was just banned. This individual was keen on lying just to ingratiate him or herself to a certain fan base. That kind of behavior tends to escalate so if anything the mods nipped the situation in the bud. I see no problem with this, especially in light of Kagari's statements regarding the manner in which Driveclub threads are abused by a vocal minority on GAF. Fair warning was given, but not heeded.

mods decide to put there foot down because this has been going on way to long in DC threads they were becoming unreadable .

I hope there's a good online community for this game. It's probably gonna be the only game I buy for the next few month.

On topic: I think being a Plus title will help.

Off topic: Killface!

Counter arguments are exactly what concern trolls want. It derails the thread completely if its not nipped in the butt asap. And having to wade through half a page of concern posts (even if ignored) is not ideal either.

On topic: I'm hoping Evo release some sort of interior customisation. Would be cool to change the colour of the leather or steering wheel in the cars interiors according to the actual manufacterers colour palettes they offer on certain models of cars. I think it would really add something cool to the interior view as I see many people opting for that camera view when racing.

Yeah. And let mods do that. I just didn't like to see the rest of us threatening anyone coming in here with potential bans by using Kagari's earlier post. It's neither friendly nor fair.

I hope so as well. Considering the 1) large PS4 adoption & 2) owners are ravenous for a racing game... I think it likely our wish will come true.

I promise I will stop this, I don't want to derail the thread or get banned, this is not my intention at all lol. What I'm wondering is come release can we not discuss our opinions on the game if it's negative? What if we have concerns about the game legitimately?

Anyone else playing on downloading the free version to check it out first? The "full game" upgrade is £35 on PSN which is cheaper than I expected.. Does anyone know the download size of the free version? The full game is around 15GB if I remember correctly.

I preordered the game a long time ago, prefer physical copies for a variety of reasons. But I won't receive the game till probably later on in the afternoon or evening that day, when I'm working.

So definitely going to be downloading the PS+ free version and check it out, heck if I like the gameplay enough, I may just do the upgrade to the full one and return the physical one, as this could be the perfect game suited for digital (quick loads, doing one off races etc).

Not to mention that even though I bought the game at a discount, it's coming out to $55. So $50 for the digital version saves me even more money (Regular price would've been $80).

So yeah, getting the game either way, the PS+ edition is being used to determine whether I buy the game digitally.

I have concerns of my own about the game, and I've voiced them in here. Possible lack of replays, whether or not the social aspect is engaging enough to be the main hook, how fleshed out the career and other modes are. No one has said anything to me because I stated my opinions in calm manner and I'm not constantly arguing it or trying to convince people that another game is better, and my post history will show that I have no allegiances. I'm very excited for this game and I also just picked up Forza Horizon 2 and am enjoying that as well.

People in here aren't opposed to negative opinions - it's when the post intention is obvious that it becomes untolerable.

Of course you can. No game is perfect and they're all made better via critique. Better yet, if it's something that can be patched, take to Twitter and let the devs know.

Rushy already said the 80, 100, 300 and 500 will be supported.

Wait is that true?

Just clarifying, the concern comes from the fact that people are flaunting Kagaris post at anybody they feel has crossed a line. Seems like backseat modding to me.

Let's all agree to not talk about moderation. If you feel like a person is being disruptive, PM a moderator that has indicated they are watching Driveclub threads and then it will be decided if it's in need of intervention.

If someone wants to make a Forza vs. Driveclub thread out of this one, direct them to the other thread. If they don't comply they will probably be handled by the above.

Not sure i like the whole "let's report anyone who has certain doubts about the game" but it's a good thing that console retardation is being watched.

The PS+ discount is one nice deal imo. I never preordered a digital game and now i watch that fucking timer every day :D.
Can't wait to see how the game feels and sounds. Hopefully the subwoofer will get a nice workout.

Those people should also be watching their posts, as the review and OT threads will be heavily moderated. Like Viveks said, that kind of behavior can be just as destructive as the trolling and we really don't need it.

My two biggest concerns regarding gameplay:

The collision physics do seem a bit bouncy and the cool down timer you get after a collision annoyed the shit out of me in Gran Turismo and I can't see it being different here.

The timer that is activated when you go off track seems far too aggressive and I really hope it's augmented in some way.

I also am worried about track variety. Having variations of the same track is rarely much more than adding sections on top of what you've already played, sort of like Suzuka West/East compared to the Grand Prix track. If that's the case with Driveclub, I may get bored easily.

There, those are my concerns and I share them in the hope we can be critical without being divisive. /rambling, melodramatic post.

Let's all agree to not talk about moderation. .

Agreed. Last you guys will hear about it from me.

I bought a Thrustmaster T100 racing wheel last night then spent the next hour or so looking at peoples impressions and comparisons on youtube and decided to cancel my order.

Does anyone actually own one here? Is it any good? I understand its not as good as a Driving Force GT but how much worse it it? 270 degrees of rotation seems really small in videos.

The whole wheel situation with this new generation has been a bit of a mess.

Someone please talk me into reordering one so I can have it arrive before next tuesday ;)

I have a feeling if I buy the game at launch I'll be sick of it by time the weather patch comes out. Like TressFX with Tomb Raider, but time it released I went "oh that's nice" but I had already 100%'d the game and had little motivation to go back and play more.

Mine is still being sent to me. Personally I like the small rotation, as I prefer to be able to grab opposite lock as quickly as possible, but I can see how others wouldn't like it. The reason I ordered that wheel specifically is that I haven't heard good things about Thrustmaster as far as quality and customer support are concerned, but I needed a FF wheel for Driveclub, P. Cars and F1, so I figured I would get the T100. If it breaks, oh well, I only spent $150 on it. I heard the petals offer decent progression and that the FF is quite good for a wheel that price.

This is why i hope weather comes out fast .
Day and nigh cycles can help with that, add in weather and driving on the same track can be a whole new experience .
Add since we can adjust everything makes it all the better.

The incentives to play adventure games are completely different to the incentives to play racing games.

I went for the T300RS. Price wasn't insanely insane. Having 12 months warranty I'm not too fussed if it dies quickly.

I was thinking to buy the T80 even

Anyone have any impressions on t80/ t100 really. I know its low class but come on I am not that huge driving fan after all.So?

T80 has no force feedback at all - it just has a bungee cord (big elastic band) to provide basic resistance to turning. T100 has FFB using immersions tech - so should be similar(ish) to the DFGT

If you want a wheel, definitely go for the T100 as a minimum. Hardly any difference in price either

For a racing title, something like the addition of weather would be perfect reason to want to come back. It changes the dynamics of the same tracks/roadways.
