I truly and genuinely believe that the minds behind Final Fantasy have become somewhat warped due to the franchise's success and the assignment of great depth and symbolism by fans when it really isn't there, similar to what has happened to George Lucas. Don't get me wrong, Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back are my favorite films but when fans take shit way too far, we've seen what happens. Lucas gets delusions of grandeur, tries to make his awesome epic masterpieces to live up to the legend--but it's just lame.
I'm not saying FFXIII will be a bad game by any means, but I definitely have been seeing some of that attitude in this series for a while now. I don't know who the hell would actually think a summon turning into a motorcycle is actually awesome but with the existence of works like Advent Children it's quite clear that the creators think stuff like this is just the pinnacle of...something. I was hoping FFXII was a step in the right direction but I'm not too confident in this game. I'm sure it will be very well made in many respects and people will love the hell out of it and reviewers will invent new scoring scales just to give it as much praise as possible. I just hope it doesn't get too wrapped up in itself to the point of utter lunacy.

Yeah.omg rite said:You realize that a lot of people love Advent Children right?
I'm drawing these conclusions based on several games, a movie, and various details. You also realize you sound pretty dumb for coming to retarded conclusions based on a ****ing SUMMON POWER. Holy shit, some of you live to overexaggerate.
Well I do think it'll probably play pretty well.Just stfu and wait until, oh I don't know, someone in the world plays it or we see more than 5 screen shots.
It is getting old.CrushDance said:Seriously some people need to shut it. "When this coming to 360?", "I'd play it if ti came to 360", "lol 4D".

PantherLotus said:I'm not sure what world you guys live in, but the FF games that I've been playing have plenty of whacked out ideas. This isn't any farther out there than any of the other weird shit. And I freaking love the series. I think this quote isn't getting the idea across exactly but I think fans of FF will embrace it, whatever it is.

A few weeks ago I made some joke about how you'd ghost ride the whip to boost your summon powers. Now it turns out it might be true!
PantherLotus said:Because in one moment it's easy to believe in talking dogs and animals, the ability to do magic, airships using magical power, fluffy-cute magical creatures, big yellow ridable chickens with armor, the ability to wield swords 4x your size, walking/smiling cacti, the ability to control titans (espers/summons/etc) and have them attack your enemies, etc...
But now they want to make a god/titan/esper/summon also change into a motorcycle? OH **** NO THATS JUST TOO MUCH. THERE'S NO WAY THAT MAKES SENSE IN THIS WORLD. THATS DOWNRIGHT HEAD SCRATCHIN I TELL YA.
HOW DARE THEY.

FF13 is just a pretty mess.

jett said:I don't really mind. Shiva, Ifrit, Alexander, etc "are" airships in FFXII. The summons(in "walking" mode or whatever) probably won't look anything like the classic designs, anyway. Would you people had thrown shitfests if the ugly and useless pieces of shit espers in FF12 had been named after FF6's espers? They're just names.
I'll reserve my judgement until I see clearer media, but I really don't mind something new coming out of this series.
edit: well uh it really is Shiva riding a bike...
I don't think so, the hair of the girl is much more detailed.Bud said:Are those scans realtime?
