I don't agree. I completely HATE chromatic aberration. It's generally considerable an undesirable artifact of photography optics, and photo editing suites have settings just to remove it.
I guess the question that needs to be asked is, are videogames trying to replicate how the world actually is and how one would see it, or are they more interested in mimicking movies to the point that emulating undesirable optics behavior is suddenly something to be proud of doing? I feel the same about lens flare effects. IMO, in most games I'm supposed to be immersed in the world, not having the world rendered in such a way that it's trying to make me think I'm looking at it through a movie camera.
