That douchebag roommate is by far the worst part of the show. Also, I can see myself being annoyed by Zooey's random breaking into song moments.

I don't really know, but I'm assuming bad things since I don't remember it being around for very long
Just saying: opinions are pretty split in the topic so far already so you were probably watching the same showCrazylegs said:I must have been watching a different show because I thought it was atrociously bad. Zooey was trying WAY too hard to be 'that cute quirky chick' and her co-stars were straight from generic central casting. They have nowhere interesting or new to go story-wise, so the show has to stand on characters. It will get old, fast. Or not.

Asking for a friend:
"What happened to Coach?"
Diegetic reason: Winston returned from playing professional basketball in Latvia, thus kicking out Coach, who was subleasing.Buckethead said:Asking for a friend:

Agreed.wenis said:The second episode was pretty good. Got some good laughs and quite a few chuckles. This show could end up being one of those shows that surprises people...
Agreed. And I kinda missed Coach in the 2nd ep. Ah well at least Happy Endings is back soon.big ander said:But I still think Schmidt is incredibly unfunny. I like Nick though.
I know you were trying to make a sorta joke but:PigSpeakers said:I have a friend who said she really wanted to see this. I considered watching it so I could talk about it with her. I don't think I'd like this very much though. Might give it a chance when it gets cancelled and becomes OMG BEST SHOW EVER WHY'D IT GET CANCELLED.
While that's true and I mostly agree with you, us devoted fans of doomed shows kinda know they're doomed from the start - they premiere with low ratings and keep getting worse ratings, and they have quirky premises that almost ensure mainstream rejection.big ander said:-peoples opinions don't really change that much after a cancelation; to use recent examples people were raving over Terriers and Party Down way before they were canceled.
Oh yeah I completely agree with that. I was just trying to say that this show wouldn't be the kind of show where, assuming it got canceled, people would suddenly go "but it was the best comedy in years!!"beat said:While that's true and I mostly agree with you, us devoted fans of doomed shows kinda know they're doomed from the start - they premiere with low ratings and keep getting worse ratings, and they have quirky premises that almost ensure mainstream rejection.
Pushing Daisies is probably the only exception to /that/, in that it had a cult fanbase _and_ good ratings at the start. It wasn't till after the writers' strike killed its momentum that its ratings got terrible and quickly got cancelled.
Pachterballs said:did they change the black guy after the pilot? I could have sworn it was the actor from Happy Endings and now its someone else.
weird
...show's got a very weird/annoying vibe.
No surprise here: Fox has picked up freshman hit New Girl for a full season.
The network announced Wednesday that it has ordered an additional 11 episodes of the Zooey Deschanel-fronted comedy, bringing its Season 1 order to 24 episodes.
We love the charming Zooey Deschanel and the entire cast, were knocked out with the work that Liz Meriwether and the whole staff is doing and we are really psyched about the upcoming episodes in the pipeline, said Fox prez Kevin Reilly. Its great that audiences have responded so positively so far and were confident that even more people will embrace the show and more comedy on FOX this season.
New Girl bowed last week to more than 10 million viewers, making it Foxs highest-rated fall sitcom debut in 10 years. Even more impressive, the show maintained nearly all of its premiere audience in Week 2.
