On the subject of music. I know GT5 had custom soundtrack support. You needed to navigate the menus to set it up properly. It let you play your own mix from a playlist along with some tracks in GT5's playlist.

I hope they didn't drop this option from the game. I have a fairly decent playlist on my PS3 that I exclusively use for Driving / Racing games, and I'd definitely like to to use it in GT6.
I'm pretty sure this feature was in GT Academy 2013. At least, I think I was listening to the latest Queens of the Stone Age album while playing that demo...

I think it's a shame Amar has gotten his review copy. He's such an important figure in the GT community and PD/Sony could reach out to him.

They did some of that with GTPlanet in the last few years, and people like Amar should have more inside access to the game.

Thank you for the kind words, but I didn't get any review copy?

What worries me is that neither the PEGI nor the USK have rated GT6 so far, which are mandatory for a EU release. usually they get a copy to evaluate several months early.
Edit: ESRB has rated it already

I hope that this is not an indicator for a delayed EU release.

The UK/German GT6 site has the boxart with PEGI/USK ratings on them. If they weren't rated they would have TBC on them or something, I think that's required.

the USK database (PEGI as well) doesn't have it listed as of yet, but e.g the FFX/X-2 HD remasters which release in February have already been rated. hence my concern.

There is 9 days until release. It's pretty much a given at this point the game stock is sitting in a warehouse being ready to ship various retailers for distribution.

Pressing games to disc, printing manuals, creating inserts, all of these manufacturing ends, not to mention packaging, distribution and shipping to retail. That kind of stuff takes time, I'd say GT6 was ready to go within the past week or so for it's release worldwide.

If there was some sort of delay (especially considering the December 6th is prominently displayed in most adverts for the game on the official website and banner adverts even on NeoGaf) I'd expect PD to make an announcement about said delay.

I mean having a delay this close to release without some sort of announcement would be a massive PR issue I don't think PD would want to deal with.

I know GT5 had delays but I don't believe PD ever stated a solid release date with advertising for it prior to said delay. The fact that GT6 does have set release date in advertising and such nearly ascertains this game will be in our PS3's come December 6th. (well for those who are getting the game on release day that is)

I see a G27 + GT6 bundle for equiv 200 quid that I'd jump on right now if I knew it was gonna work on PS4... ugh ._.

There's a recent Tweet from Logitech that acknowledges them working on PS4 compatibility, but it's not confirmed. I still refuse to get my hopes up completely, but it's definitely a good sign.

Yeh I'm following every update in Amar's wheel thread. I'm not prepared to gamble that much on such a non-committal tweet though.

Any idea how big the download will be? I am thinking of picking up the digital version.
It said you need 14GB free space so that means the game download itself is half that size.

This is how it is, purchased Special Edition from EU PSStore:

Download size for the game is 14,3GB, other items such as cars or paints are regular unlocking keys 100KB in size - that means they are already included in everyones game (as it was with GT5). Game isn`t preloaded, bought it right away when appeared in Store and it`s still waiting for download (planned for 5.XII - will be probably DRM locked until 00:00 6.XII).

So to download it one must have at least 30GB+ free HDD space. How much space it will take after installation that of course we still don`t know.

One of those features that I never used - the first things I do for every racing game that I play is go to options and completely mute racing music. Engine, tires, gearbox - that`s kind of music I want to hear exclusively when racing.

Never understood how can someone drive with music in the background, but maybe it`s to
cover glorious GT engine sounds lol
?

Heh. But same, I can't drive well with music playing. Well, I can't drive well at all in games, but I drive worse with music.

My only worry about getting GT6 digitally is if it will have streaming problems like GTA did. I guess I'll just wait for the impressions.
No worries - GTA is based upon completely different rendering engine, that rely on constant data streaming. Thats`s because of game nature: big and completely open map that can`t be interrupted with loading screens.
GT is different: with GT5, after its full HDD installation almost all assets are loaded from HDD. That`s why we see such massive reduction in loading times with SSD. I don`t see any reason why they would change it for GT6 and that`s why I went digital (and for convenience it gives).

GT games never use streaming for anything, they always load everything in RAM and execute from there.
Exactly this.

Or maybe because people
enjoy music while driving
?
It's ok to not like things. Just don't ruin it for the others.

Well, don't know how to feel about this but, looks like you will be able to buy vouchers for ingame money at retail stores.

Available to pre-order at Belgian/Dutch site Game Mania:

1 million for 9,99 euro

2,5 million for 19,99 euro

Damn... not liking the way its going.
Im still hoping they didnt nerf the games progress and money earnings to push people that way!!

Gran Turismo 6 will feature the option to buy additional credits for the game from external retailers. Would you buy credits to boost your GT6 career?

Saw it mentioned that one of the coffee cup challenges alone nets you 250k so I don't think i will be needing to buy any of these, if someone doesn't have time to play too much i guess I could see them buying some?

No.
Currently in GT5 seasonal races it's pretty easy to make a million in only 30 minutes if you're good enough. As long as a similar reward system is in GT6 I'll be happy. If it's been scaled back to tempt people to buy credits with their money I'll send the game back to PD in revulsion.

If I have to do the same stupid start from a lap back and race to the front shit over and over for money it will be bad enough. Utter lack of variety in the race types in the seasonals.

Did you get the memo? All racing series ever have rolling starts now. Standing starts were removed to improve the flow of the start. Enjoy!

GT5 seasonals pay too much for my taste. Please don't be too hasty in returning the game if PD dials them back a bit.
