New Ninja Theory game to be announced this week at TGS.

I really hope the Team ICO collection rumor is true, because if this one is true too, I'm going to need something good to compensate the terrible news :-(

Take your stinking paws off DMC, you damn Ninja Theory.

I think we're more likely to see Ninja Theory making Resident Evil 6 than for Capcom to make a new Onimusha game.

The question is who could get RE6, since Onimusha seems to be totally gone and dead and DMC now in the hands of Ninja Theory. There's not that many studios left that aren't in total cahoots with a big publisher these days.

Hopefully my Epic/RE6 prediction holds true.

Also, will Capcom have some sort of hotel-event pre-TGS or during the press day this year?

Well, Blue Castle has two teams and the second one is making an action game based on an existing IP.

Inafune was also talking about how awesome Blue Castle is and how much he wants to continue working with them.

What if it isn't just Ninja Theory developing DMC5, maybe the top people who worked on old DMC games are working alongside Ninja Theory.
The only thing Kobayashi should be allowed to direct is Inafune taking a shit.

Am I the only person that actually really loved Heavenly Sword? My only real problem with it was that Hard should have been normal, and then there should have been at least 2 more difficulties. Other than that the game was a blast.

Do people honestly think it could end up being MUCH worse than DMC4? A game where you're forced to master a character for half a game and then you have to start over doing the exact same things with another (far less interesting) character? C'mon.

now after 3 hours of trying to master the character ...the game will end.

You guys are all wrong.

It's Onimusha 5 by NT. Dmc rumor were to throw you off. I think NT could handle Onimusha!

Onimusha by Ninja Theory will be worse.

It could be done by Capcom themsleves still too, despite their focus on outsourcing.

Well Ninja Theory did make Ninja Gaiden. Maybe this isn't all bad /enforcing a meme

.
Tomorrow, I think, we'll see Suda 51/Mikami's project. If this doesn't compensate this news, I don't think anything will.

Honestly, I know it's easy to look at Heavenly Sword and say "there's no way this could be good," but you could have (and many did) make the same argument about a studio who makes baseball games developing the new Dead Rising, and I have not seen a single person argue that Blue Castle failed to nail the feel of the first Dead Rising with either DR2 or Case Zero (perhaps even to a fault).

It's certainly possible this game, if it exists, could be really good, guys.

The burden is on NT to prove the fans wrong. That's how it is with any situation where new people find themselves of a popular thing with a pre-existing fanbase. I personally wasn't sure about DR2 until I played Case Zero, and the same thing might happen a year from now if NT releases a DMC 5 demo a year from now...

...and I might also win the lottery. Anything might happen.

Blue Castle appears to have a handle on the Dead Rising franchise based on the Case Zero game. BC I have faith in, NT I don't!

Muh DMC!!!! :(

Onimusha is cinematic action adventure with so-so action. Sounds like a good fit!

Onimusha is my favorite action series. Issens make up for whatever other deficiencies it has, I say~

I think because of Onimusha story , it need Japanese studio/developers and guys how know actual Japanese history and stuff , DMC series don't require that.

Enslaved is going to be incredible. I foresee many hats being eaten if they can put the polish to a DMC game.

I don't get the hate. Maybe it won't be the best in the series, but it would never be close to as bad as the INTERNALLY developed DMC2. What a piece of garbage that was...

I can see it now at TGS. Capcom presents:

Devil May Cry 5 by Ninja Theory
Resident Evil 6 by Blue Castle
Mega Man Universe by our teams

fin

So Team Ninja is going to develop DMC5? Hope that Konami knows what is doing with this decision... Who knows? Maybe we all will eat eagle when the game finally is released.

But people are hyped for DR2, so most wouldn't mind.

most of that hype came after case zero. before that most DR fans were highly skeptical of capcoms decision to outsource the game to blue castle.

But all you did was lie about DMC4 being good, that's not fixing anything!

i don't see a lie since DMC4 is a good game. not great or anything but it is good.

Onimusha was one of my favorite Capcom franchises last gen along with Maximo and DMC. But the combat was not particularly deep. It worked, but it was definitely more RE style "action supplements the adventure" than pure deep action like DMC.

That being said Oni4 had the best combat in the series and pretty much the best everything outside actual cool actors. So it's a total shame they didn't follow it up with an Oni5. Oni4's ending even seemed like it was the start of a new arc.

Yeah, but starting talk about how terrible it will be and how Devil May Cry is dead already? I hate to come off as trying to be "above the fray" guy, but aren't we jumping a bit too early?

Well, it is a new arc, which is why it's Shin Onimusha and not Onimusha 4.

They're basing it on NT's previous track record; it can't be that much of a stretch

Why wouldn't anybody look at a given company's track record to guess how good their future games are going to be?

Only makes sense.

I'm all for trying a new point of view in a stale series. And after a good amount of hours spent with DeadRising 2, I'm almost convinced that western developers+good jap producer formula can work if played well.
For all of DMC4's flaws it still had good combat mechanics. With NT, even that isn't guaranteed.

Be below the fray and look at their track record.
