graphics/tech wise, ninja theory has already proven themselves pretty damn well imo.cjelly said:Exactly. A developer who are yet to prove themselves.

Why exactly? Kung Fu Chaos was shit, and for all I know Heavenly Sword could be an absolute turd.Onix said::lol :lol
That was a pretty silly statement.

At least Bizarre Creations have got some kind of track record when it comes to decent games.
because it features some of the best skin shaders we've ever seen?cartoon_soldier said:Ninja Theory. Makes his statements even more...funny. lol
J-Rzez said:No... I don't know where in the world it rains silicone from the heavens, or pristine freezing rain like that... It's too rediculously glossy, especially on the roof... It messes with the colors in that F430 shot on it's rear side... It's overly done... I wish I could make my car shine like that in real life, but there's not a wax or polish on this earth that'll do that...
Can't believe Nos got banned when there is other dev's on here that posted worse, like someone said, Che, specifically in the one GT:HD iirc (which is direct competition)... They're game fans in the end too, and what Nos posted is no different than what others do on here daily... They come here for a break from their restraints, cool off and relax, be one of us... He doesn't like the look of it, he doesn't like the look of it... It'll be cool to tear HS apart though i guess when time comes for that thread...
This game will be much fun though with the inclusion of bikes... I don't think it'd work in a sim, but in a semi-arcadey racer like this, it'd be fine... Thus, i guess the look of the cars, kinda going with the super shiney look and not really the RL look... Can't have nothing but sims on the market, that'd be dull, and this game series is a nice break from playing them...
vspectra06 said:Just because it rains doesn't mean the sun can't still reflect off the surface of the car. Cars still shine even when their wet.

oh snap. :lolOnix said:That said, are you trying to argue devs that haven't proven themselves yet should have no opinion on games? If so ... where does that leave you, who hasn't made any games?

Not to offend, but your point is completely irrelevant.Onix said:That said, are you trying to argue devs that haven't proven themselves yet should have no opinion on games? If so ... where does that leave you, who hasn't made any games?
You're right, and I won't argue the point any further.h1nch said:could we i dunno........stop talking about ninja theory / heavenly sword?

Rat Salad said:That developer got served and some here are crying tears for him?
If any one of us came into a thread involving a huge racing series and outright called the cars plastic looking-just what do you think would happen? We'd have a mini vacation.
Just because this guy is some developer doesn't give him some high horse to ride and hide behind that profession while issuing cheap shot insults towards PGR4,a series that has proven itself in the racing genre.
Maybe cause he was banned because of the whinning of some people?Fight for Freeform said:Well, the fact that he couldn't point out the issues in detail is all the info I needed to dismiss his opinion as almost worthless. He should have taken the opportunity when people asked for clarification.
p3tran said:yeah, I mean, if you cant do real life rain, dont bother doing it at all. exactly like car damage. am I right or whatthe fuck is wrong with some guys in here?
chespace said:Hint: the game isn't coming out on THEIR console of choice.
J-Rzez you're a cool guy and one of the few car buffs on here who actually likes cars rather than being a poser.J-Rzez said:Like I for one think the rain effect is way over done, not the best rain ever... I just expressed my opinion...
J-Rzez said:Yeah, but I own both consoles as by my choice... Just like I'm sure MANY others do... These arguementive defenses (console of choice) are really weak and empty, and usually a last option for those that can't grasp that maybe people like something differently... Like I for one think the rain effect is way over done, not the best rain ever... I just expressed my opinion... It's different to say that about people who don't have both console's, and wouldn't buy the other console and it's games even if they had the money to, and then say something like this...
dammitmattt said:1. You are a certified member of the SDF, so we should all take what you say with a grain of salt. Why are you in this thread, anyway, if you don't plan to play this game?
2. Of course these are from replays or photo mode.....nothing is more boring that racing game pics from the gameplay perspective.
3. It DOES surpass GT:HD in a number of areas, especially the weather effects and environments, although the cars and the lighting aren't as good.
4. I think the weather effects and the environments are so damn good that it can definitely be mistaken for real life.
5. Why are you comparing it to GT:HD anyway? If you've ever played this franchise, you would know that it's completely different. A more apt comparison would be to Need for Speed, which it completely and totally destroys.
:lol :lol :lolCrayon Shinchan said:What makes you think I don't plan on playing the game? I have PGR3, and I'm interested to see what PGR4 will be doing.
The point of my post was to defend Nostromo's POV; the game does look good, but its cars do have a certain artificial quality to them. The weather effects are fantastic though; and I hope to see GT5 implement something similar.
And the comparison between GT5 and PGR4 is valid as they're both car racing sims that strive for a realistic look (as far as I can tell).

Onix said:You're missing the point.
He made a comment specifically in regards to the shader used for the cars. That is a graphics-specific point.
To pretend Ninja Theory hasn't proven themselves in regards to graphics is laughable.
That said, are you trying to argue devs that haven't proven themselves yet should have no opinion on games? If so ... where does that leave you, who hasn't made any games?
Not that it matters, I personally agree with his statement (as do some others). Why is everyone getting so defensive? From an objective standpoint, the main uncanny valley in the game appears to be how the cars are reflecting light, etc. It seems to make them all look like the same material.
You act like this game for some reason cannot be commented on ... why? If you were to ask Nostromo his opinion on any given HS screen ... he'd find MORE to bitch about than probably anyone in this forum. That's what happens when you ask an artist to critique his own work ... they never think its 'done'.
In this case, he wasn't even pointing out some small little detail ... he's making what I think is a pretty obvious criticism.
