So people are actually thinking this is Resident Evil 6 (being exclusive for Ps3) ? Wow.

This is going to end up being a zombie-game developed by a first-party sony studio, probably with move-support, that's all.

If SSM is working on it I have no choice but to get hyped. It's exciting, it's been a while since I've gotten excited for a new IP from a top dev.

Screw attack are bunch of idiots. The are just trolling. Especially since it is for PS3 that bugs them.
Besides why would Capcom make RE exclusive to PS3 when RE5 sold better on 360

I don't see how a Sony studio developing an exclusive game is shocking though, unless it's based on a license.

Reading all that makes it sound plausible, but the fact that Capcom loves money too much invalidates the whole thing a bit doesn't it?

Sony isn't exactly in a position to moneyhat, and RE5 sold the most on 360 so it seems literally almost impossible that it could be RE6 exclusive to PS3.

In the US yes, but world wide? I think PS3 is at the top thanks to Europe and Japan. The game sold almost a million on PS3 in Japan alone.

maybe that's geoff over hyping it. Like no one expected GOW team to make something new. Which is true in a way. Everyone is expecting GOW4. But I don't find it mind blowing. Of course the game might be, probably is if it is from them

Easy. In this day and age everyone is busy working on a sequel. Sony Santa Monica working on something other than GoW 4 is shocking.

Isn't Half-Life 3 supposed to take place in some ship where you rescue that white woman? Forgot the details... been a while since I played episode 2.

All this stuff about trees and everything kinda debunks it.

It's not HL3. Is that debunked enough for you?

I see a lot of people are already engulfed by the hype eh?

Easy now... I am still trying to keep my expectation in check. Not so much engulfed by the hype as I just love the name "The Last of Us." It sounds... awesome. It is something that people can remember because it is different.

It better not be just a first party developed game. "1st party exclusive" shouldn't ever be used to describe a game - it's redundant.

how can a new IP be shocking news?

Because Sony things usually leak and this apparently has been in work for a while with no leaks, hence it'd be shocking ?
Or it could just be so radically different that it would be shocking that nobody had done it before?

I'd say new IP probably means the latter.

Yep. Absolutely.

I actually love the logo as well, even if it's super simple (one might say "lazy").

So do I. It's bold, simple and memorable - everything a good logo should be. I also like the subtle decay to it as well, but unlike, say, the Uncharted logo, it's not over-produced.

People need to just be realistic about this. It's very likely a new IP from Sony Santa Monica or Quantic Dream. I'm not sure why it wouldn't be a big deal if this was SSM's new game. They haven't released a game since 2010 and they haven't released a new IP since 2005. A new game from them would deserve a lot of hype. Especially since there's a good chance that it'll be the new benchmark for visuals on consoles.

Can't be Capcom since Keighley said amazing developer.

Hopefully it's Santa Monica, somehow I have my doubts since they don't seem to be a studio that takes risks, new IP is a big risk.

you have to remember, a potential massive exclusive like this can have more selling power then a multiplat of the same game... if they play their cards right

Please do explain how.

There is no plausible scenario in which the magic of exclusivity would cause a game to sell more on one console than it would have sold on two consoles, especially when the console being left out accounts for more than 50% of multiplatform sales in almost every instance.

Or do you think that by using The Power of the PS3, an exclusive could be created that would be so mind-blowing that it would sell over twice as well than it would have if it was limited by the constraints of multiplatform development?

The consoles aren't that different in terms of potential, sorry.

The original God of War probably felt like a risk at the time. Even if it wasn't wildly innovative, it was surely expensive.

Also, no studio wants to work on the same IP forever. They were making GOW games for like 8 years straight. Eventually a new IP is worth the risk to avoid burning out a talented studio.
