When I read stuff like this, I always remember this old ass metal desk lamp my parents have. It gets super hot and there is some issue with grounding or something. It must have been made 50 years ago when companies back then liked making solid heavy shit. Basically the entire thing from base to stand to bulb covering is metallic.

After turning it on and off, eventually the bulb part gets loose and you got to tighten it. If it becomes loose, what happens is when you turn it on or off, you get a shock. Not enough to kill or hurt, but you get a zap up you arm.

Tighten that part and there is no shock anymore.

I've read that before as well. Where I grew up there were power cables almost 6 inches thick for some specialized machines called "Shovels" I believe they said at the time that they were only like 60 volt but that due to the amperage, even a tiny crack in the insulation would make the cable EXPLODE and they showed a demo of it. That's why at that place, driving over such a cable was an instant termination.

Electricity is funny stuff, but fascinating as well!

Man this collector edition with sub-zero mask looks so good, but i won't spend so much money on that. Hopefuly someone will get bored of it and will be selling that later. Fingers crossed ;p

according to some leaks PS5 uses a smart TV Browsers. Those won’t work. They are only bringing it to desktop and mobile browsers, not tv browsers. Also, you can’t really use a controller with the PS5 Web browser most likely, the analog stick will act as a mouse course. How are you even going to play?

so TV makers have to adjust and For TVs they will release dedicated apps, since TV makers really don’t have an issue with Apps, like Apple.

I see the usual culprits having a pop at MS not changing their UI for the new consoles coming (itself not entirely true; there are various improvements and tidies coming/recently made).

It's worth pointing out MS have been continually improving the UI over the Xbox one lifespan, and we are talking sometimes major overhauls and redesigns. It's a working, continuing process.

Genuine question, how do Sony treat their UI during a console life cycle? Has the PS4 UI changed significantly over the last 7 years?

Why not just buy one? Also I don't think we will have issues with next gen storage. Both have the possibility to expand it with SSD or HDD, and games aren't that much bigger. For example, Valhalla is only 60GB

If whoever does the browser for them (guessing Netfront) supports mouselock and the other *lock apis, this won't be a problem. Probably not very practical, but quite meta.

Pretty beasty heat sink/copper amount for cooling just the capacitors. Makes sense considering the very the high frequency i guess.

Your not going anywhere. You are awesome and you know @X-Fighter has those moments of sensitivity. I think sometimes FUD already lies within us at times and the mere thought of your brand being damaged hurts. For instance I used to get so pissed at Timdog. Now I laugh knowing he is basically Cartman from Southpark in human form. I no longer worry about PS5. When I felt more secure about actually seeing real games "captured on PS5", I was sold. I also now will in a year, grab an XSX if I don't just go PC because I don't want 2 midgen refreshes. Anyway I am experienced in aquarium keeping and have fun watching you swim through this crazy forum. X-fighter - land your fighter jet - XSX will be amazing in about 1.5 to 2 years when we can see actual games that aren't only enhanced games. Now remasters are a whole different story. I love a good remodel of anything in life. Love yall muthagaferz!

P.S. If someone is shot in the foot I would find it concerning, however it doesn't mean I have to care about the person. Same with these consoles. Why else would we be in a thread for both consoles. Because in the end we all know what the other company does effects the other which makes us concerned even if it's not our first choice! ✌🏽

Xbox One UI was a mess for a long time and missing many features, since it was built from the beginning. Since then it has evolved to its current form.

It's good they didn't have to start over again and can focus on new features and optimizing it further instead.

Not significantly, because it were really good/functional from the begining.

They have perfected it by minor changes, like adding folders, quickmenu with long ps button press and something small like that

I were surprised when I googled xbox one GUI, like it looks like teenager whom cant deicide if he wants to look like a goth, gangsta or metalhead. Like so many GUI versions.

I havent seen xbone irl (nobody owns them), but I have 360 and that GUI is messy&confusing as hell.

Compared to ps4/switch.

Imo this style of one big desktop with vertical+horizontal icons is perfect for a console.

I feel like it could do with a major overhaul in terms of flow of actions. The way it's grown so much through the life of the X1 feels like a lot of functionality is convoluted or unnatural to get to. So on that side I can see why a revamp would be a good idea. At the same time, given their strategy, I can see the benefits of maintaining the UI across generations. You just don't get many chances to rework something completely in this way with minimal disruption to the end users.

I mean for them there is not a lot of reason to drop another bomb at this time. We will get UI and BC gameplay, more announced games gameplays maybe. I could expect big things before pre-orders but after that I don't think Sony many reasons to reveal any suprises. PS5consoles are all sold out, they are a marked leaders. Unless they provided many more units their marketing will resolve around events like christmass etc.

I think we can see something before christmass. But still if they don't ramp up a prodiction there is no reason for them to "drop the bombs". In their current possition it is better to have steady slow-paced info-drops.

Microsoft on the other hand... should let hell loose/release the kranken/drop the bombs. They are the underdog and need to make use of the time before launch and christmass.
