Sound like excuses. These consoles are going in places people place their current gen consoles in.

So what now?? You are going to blame peoples furniture. That they already use with no problem. Come on man what we are doing here

All this ducking ,diving , capping ,excuses is why Xbox is in this state. When shit is bad just say it's bad. No need for excuses.

Not making excuses I mean all consoles and PCs are in danger of over heating if put in a space and not able to breathe.

Edit- I bet my new monitor the LG 27GN950 that has a fan and puts out a decent amount of heat would over heat if I shoved it in a box and not give it air.

Really hoping that Blizzard puts out a PS5 patch for Overwatch. It is pretty obvious OW2 is at least a year away.

I would think PS5 can handle a 120FPS option for that game, which is what he hopes for.

Is that Dealers podcast?

There certainly wouldn't be any playstation fan in it trying to spread FUD around.

But then again they are pre production systems so maybe a few do have issues. Plus we also don't know how these people are treating them.

I understand that the BC games available right now change depending on bugs that are being found.

These overheating scenarios - IF they’re genuine - may be down to bugs in pre-production software as much as anything to do with the hardware.

Just want to add my 2 cents on "overheating Xbox" issue. It's possible it's just an glitch that happens in certain cases.
s57UK8T.jpg

I saw a message similar to this in one of the reports and I've gotten the same similar message on my Xbox One X over the years and it never actually was overheating. For me it's happened a couple times randomly on occasion and recently during that demo fest they had one of the demo's in particular would cause the fans to freak out and end up with this message just from trying to launch the demo. They mentioned those demos were still a work in progress and might not even work. What I'm trying to say here is that it's possible especially on those prototype units with freshly released game builds/compatibility that some might have run into those errors. Not saying it's impossible that they're overheating, just throwing this out there.

I hear ya, it could be possible. anything is possible.

I do however think the most likely culprit is like HeisenbergFX4 HeisenbergFX4 said, these idiots are jamming the console into their sock draw and playing games for 10 hours straight.

I can't not stress this enough, i seriously doubt Microsoft would of fucked up on their design so it overheats like this, its not a design problem, its a user error problem i would thing 99.999 sure of that.

I mean @X-Fighter threatened to burn down my entire village for saying the console blew hot, i mean after this new information has come out, it kinda turns out i was right. :messenger_grinning: Send bricks and wood you bastard so i can start rebuilding "lollipop_disappointed:

I am just interested in hearing now are people allowed to discuss these issues without being permabanned, that's all.

I totally agree, but I feel like the design of just having a flat top and back with no flaps like the PS5 to keep (not very bright) people from covering those areas up and limiting ventilation could be a problem. Even the Xbox One X, and PS4 Pro both have an overhang on the front and/or back to help air still circulate well in a confined space. And I think the PS5 has those flaps around the edges to help maintain circulation for that reason as well. Even if you put the PS5 directly against a wall, it’ll still have some separation, whereas the Series X could have it totally blocked. Not saying anyone SHOULD do that for any of the consoles, but if people aren’t the sharpest knives in the drawer it could possibly be a problem.

Just sold my ps4 pro (first model) with 2 controllers, camera, charging dock and few old games for 280€ :messenger_savoring:

TV stands looks so empty now, good that lord saviour Cernys vision, the Playstation 5 arrives in about a month:messenger_open_mouth::messenger_open_mouth:

Kind of funny that in the mean while xbox one x is difficult to sell even for 100-150€.

Now is the last moment to sell current gen systems before prices tank

Thanks to zaitsu zaitsu

EDIT: Note that PS5 was loaded faster but the player lagged a bit to press X.

EDIT2: The PC guy is using NVMe m.2 PCIe 3.0, not much details about the specs:

Yeah I get what you mean - there may be a temptation with the design of Xsex to push it up against a panel and inadvertently block the air flow.

It seems like the “wings” on the PS5 May have some function as you say. One other theory was that the console would tend to feel cool to touch because the wings you’d touch are separate from the actual heat generating components.

But yeah those curved shapes should help avoid it becoming so close to a blockage to stop the airflow.

What few Xsex vids there are from youtubers usually show the console in a clear space on top of a cabinet - that’s ideal for cooling. We don’t have any information about any of those supposed cases of hot or overheating consoles.

So how i am meant to play this now, so it turns out to be true, this is coming from Dealer the biggest xbox fanboy on the planet. you can hear him say it in the podcast, WTF

This is not some lie.

People have been getting warnings for this, bans probably, posts have been shut down, now it turns out it's true?
Can i discuss this or am i going to get banned?>

what about people that have been given a time out because of this.

@EviLore @Bill O'Rights @Mod of War @ are we allowed to talk about this now?

The PS5 version is presumably the next gen special edition - I’m not certain of the specs of that but I assume since it’s a new version, that means it’s using enhanced textures at least.

So I wonder if the PS5 isn’t loading more data than the other versions on show here ...?

Do you know in what circumstance the Xbox is shutting down? Because if not, you're assuming just for the sake of assuming.

The other part of benchmarking that will be fun. I assumed actually pc might be the biggest world size.

Devil May Cry 5 SE Load times:
PS5 vs PC SSD

Where is the 4 seconds load coming from people have counted, you surely cant count through when it then relies on a button press.

The load starts part way into second 1 and the x button come up after about 2 seconds after that, it just takes the player a small time to press and go to the next screen. But ok it takes them 3 or so seconds but the load happened in 2.

A last gen game, next gen don't need these unnecessary steps i wouldn't have thought.

Not sure what's going on with godfall loading is it Internet based? The start of that video, wait for further examples... looks slow.... maybe im missing something about it?

He literally says in the clip the XSX are shoved into cabinets with no airflow, its all I have to go on

"these guys are cramming them in cabinets and they are just not getting the airflow and the fans are not ramping up high enough, according to this person"

First, he didn't say "cabinets with no airflow". Second, that's not the only thing he says.

What is a cabinet without enough airflow? Is it a closed cabinet? Open cabinet? Both?

Most of the people that got them are gaming journalists or influencers, I highly doubt they would be putting it in an enclosed cabinet like casuals would.

Nobody is disputing electronic products heating up. But to be putting the blame on people's furniture thats been in their house for years. That worked fine for the 1 & 1X. Is ridiculous.

The people that are testing the XSX. The XSX has failed in their entertainment centre or however its happening. Thats all there is too it. Might not be all of them ,but it's happening. And its xbox guys reporting it. Which is excellent for consumers knowledge. Dont downplay this. This is good knowledge for consumers.

Many people got dismissed for saying this XSX design was not good for entertainment centres. And here we are XSX is shutting down because of heat issues. Xbox need to come out and state how & where this box needs to sit. Clearly it's designed for outside & vertical standing. They need to speak on it before consumers have these heat issue in their shelves. (I don't see this heat thing being fix this late) Clearly this XSX doesn't like entertainment centres. It's built for volcano release ,you don't put the XSX in box shelves.

Many had suspicion on the XSX in entertainment centres & its cooling after seeing the lego built parts inside. And now zealot xbox guys are saying stuff is over heating & shutting down. Xbox better fix it. They should come out and say its not for entertainment centres.Less stress in the long run.

Why would you doubt they royally fucked up here? Wasn't this the same company that brought us the infamous RRoD?

Looking purely at how cramped all the components are inside that thing, it wouldn't surprise me one bit these claims have some merit.

People have said the console runs quiet, which is only a great thing if it runs cool as well.
