He has be posted in this thread countless times whenever he has said something positive about the PS5. I didn't hear as much outcry then.

I pretty much got tired of informing people of this dude many many past false information and the last big one was that bullshit nonsensical pre-order date one YET people keep posting his tweets here like he’s some reputable leaker when in reality his “information” he gets from GAF, reddit. Yes he reads GAF so if you are reading this you should stop spreading false news.

I was waiting for someone to make this claim. I can tell you I would have said the same if the temps were the other way around. The guy is full of it.

Or do you know something everyone else doesn't?
I wasn't calling you out specifically, but many people in this thread are just as guilty of propping up this clown by reposting all his tweets.

tbh, i think sony missed a trick here by not sending a ps5 to pc focused channels like Linus, Jayz two cents and gamernexus. they have almost 20 million subscribers between them and they know about liquid metal cooling than DF who has never really done a ps4 cooling video. in fact, gamernexus knew about PS5 using liquid metal cooling months ago.

It's a missed opportunity not trying to reach an audience you are effectively courting by releasing horizon on pc.

Not that simple, they'll leak everything if they got their hands on it.

And? Why would liquid metal be important for example? Everyone knows PS5 is clocked high. Cooling solution ? MS and Nintendo don’t care .. their stuff can be cooled regularly! Unique software features , its for MS and Nintendo far to late to copy . I think it’s weird decision from Sony .

This is just false. Also it is called NDA not a marketing deal and Sony did the same with PS4 last gen when they were competent. Yes no next-gen game from Microsoft for previews but that’s coming. Unlike PS5 which no one outside of very few actually got their hand on.

An NDA is a contract to protect intellectual property - it has to be signed for the YouTube “influencer” to get early access to the console. Therefore it is a marketing contract - no signature, no content.

Secondly I’m not taking about BC vs next generation games.

Add up the minutes of YouTuber produced gameplay content from PS5 vs Xsex and you’ll find there are more minutes of youtuber footage at higher quality, from the PS5.

Neither company has produced anything approaching the content I want - proper unedited gameplay and console usage.

What do we have to look at from those Xsex consoles that are out in the wild then? - well let’s look at one of the biggest Xbox marketers around Tom Warren and the content he produced ...

nOxUDNZ.jpg

Sounded just like what I wanted to see. Someone sitting down with the console for a few hours of gaming. Ok it’s Destiny 2 but nevermind that - a chance to see what the Xsex experience would offer.

What did we get?

Yep - 272p source captures from a camera so far from the TV it’s a blur ....

I’d suggest you go take a look at it but

To be honest I’m not surprised he took that video down either.

So yeah - take the rhetoric about MS letting everyone see their console somewhere else until you’ve got some footage to back it up.

I’m not interested in hearing yet more “insiders” under marketing contracts tell me how great this stuff is when they can’t show it, regardless of the reason why. And that applies to both Sony and MS.

They will leak UI and other stuff that hasn't been shown yet. MS and Nintendo can't copy Sony's liquid metal method, it's patented.

I'm surprised they still kept the tips screen. They could have done a fade quite easily with those load times.

Just one question.

Why not make all ports USB 3.X and over?

Just weird how they have alot of SuperSpeed ports and then that one slow port in the front.

Considering the lightning mark, I think the USB 2.0 is meant just for charging the controller

You don't need a USB 3.0 port for charging DualSense..

I think 3 USB 10 gbps ports is more than enough and much better than Xbox that is limited to 5 gbps in All ports

Actually one of my bigger problems this gen was, that I was not able to achieve full speed with my downloads.

I have a 400 MBit connection and the consoles were only using 200-250 mbit

I really hope, that this will be fixed and allow us faster download speeds.

I don't know if it is just a server issue (Germany) or console issue.

could be the writing speed of the HDD?

Did they really need to go there. 🙄🤦‍♂️

It's probably to counter all the talk about the XSX heating stuff.

But I was pointed to this yesterday and it seems the rumours have been somewhat true. I mean if the biggest xbox fans think it's true it probably is:

Though am sure MS can fix this with a firmware update as mentioned in the replies to adjust the fans. Gotta wonder what that will do for the noise levels tho.

You think the HDD is that slow?
According to a reddit post the Xbone X has a ST1000LM035 drive with average sequential write speed of 74 MB
If my math is not wrong, we are only getting half of the possible HDD speed (250/8=31,25 MB)

There must me something else.

Even on my PC the MS servers do not give me full speed

Just made me think it's probably something that ever generation goes thru and thinks as they get older and society vastly changes from when they were younger.

Almost.

What you say has been true for every generation: technology moves forward and with it the wow factor. But between 1900 and 1945 there was a MAJOR technological push, and we are living off those efforts. Basically you wouldn't be gaming today if it weren't for a group of scientists that worked first on the telephone and then on the first programmable computer just an hour away from central London (you can see it re-built and functioning at https://www.tnmoc.org/ if you happer to be in London, drop by Block H in Bletchley Park where you'll find a lot of working old computing equipment that you can try).

Next jump will probably be Quantum Computing. Once that hits the mass market we'll see something very different from what you are enjoying now.

DMCV was one of the few games actually affected by loading screens. You are greeted by loading screens (40s and more) everytime you chose a main menu item, it was very annoying. So to have PS5 improve that to just 4 seconds, Im seriously impressed.

not this shit again. It’s even worse than all this ps5 is 9Tf bullshit. Why is it allowed here to spread this FUD? It’s already several times debunked.

Modern news cycle:

Unreliable source makes salacious claim. Spawns dozens of clickbait videos and articles.

Reliable source makes reasonable claim. Dozens of articles post misleading articles and videos asking what their agenda is.

Critical thinking is dead.

In his case, that could certainly be.

I just know I've been reading this back and forth for what feels like an eternity now, and even now, knowing what's in these machine's to whatever degree I can understand it, it's just so damn exhausting.
I think, I'm a the point where I want to pick up a controller, sit back, and think..

Yeah, the waiting, everything in between then and now, and the money, yeah.. it was worth it. When I booted up PS4 and XBOX One, I felt that. I felt that with every launch so far. This is the first launch where there has been this fog and cloud over the whole thing until pretty recently.

Its always people too close that are too invested that miss out on the fun.And end up disappointed. Casuals don't care about back & forward marketing crap. Im in a 12 man whatsapp group full of real casuals, I spoke with my kid bro (15 year age gap) Not one of them have bitched & moaned about the goofy shit you see in here like tear downs ,UI Showcases, hands on. This is all goofy internet shit. A lot of it from youtubers wanting content for their channel. But reality is casuals saw the games ,price ,date. And are just trying to get one. And right now these casuals are playing FIFA 21. They don't give a fuck about a tear down. Thats not in convo in the chat.We are talking about placing bets, putting money down on these shitty international matches. No point betting on roland Garos. Nadal is ATG on clay.

Casuals made their decision after the future of game showcase. The viewership numbers in the first show compared to the second show. Tells us casuals switched off. Its just console warriors & PC fake gamers left watching and caring about an already decide fate. PS5 will sell gangbusters. When gyms, sports ,pubs and bars opened up casuals stop caring. They will buy what they already have . They will buy next gen when they can. It's you people too deep in console war feeling exhausted. If you have other hobbys & things to do. This roll out wouldn't mean anything. You would understand Sony did their job. Showed you the games ,console, price & date. You buy consoles to play game. Seems casuals understand this more than hardcore & enthusiast.

All that hype for a 2400 MB/s raw NVMe SSD... and yet, for loading games, its no faster than a 500 MB/s SATA SSD via USB 3. Odd.

Do M.2 NVMe SSDs in PCs really only load games at the same speeds as slower SATA SSDs? Seems disappointing.

Here we have Mark Cerny explaining the difference between Regular SSD's & PS5 SSD (Built for gaming)

These guys spent more time on current gen features. Tells you exactly what their priority is.

So it looks like USB port on the front of the PS5 is just USB Hi-speed 2.0, but will have a nice perk, I think. There is a lightning bolt next to that port.

If its only 2.0 speed, then its useless for data transfer. Not an issue cause the other 3 are 10 Gb/s. But it could still charge a controller or power the Pulse headset dongle etc. (And I assume for PSVR too.)

But after googling around about the lightning bolt symbol, it looks like that port could indicate that power can be sent through the port even when the console is off. Not just standby rest mode, but like powered off.

I wonder if the PS5 is turned off, but still plugged into the wall, could that slow USB-A port on the front still be powered and able to recharge a controller?

The front USB A port is definitely USB2.0. I rewatched the tear down video to check this. The front USB ports are on a separate board connected back to the main board via an FFC. But the resolution of that board was so low, I couldn't make anything out. However, if you check the reveal trailer...

Putting that into Photoshop
https://ibb.co/hD6NmHd

You can see there are 4 very faint pads at the back of the port. USB2 uses only four pins. USB3 uses 9.
