What's even more astounding is that DMC5SE, Demon's Souls and more aren't fully optimized yet. That's typically the last stage before launch.

Typically, these games(especially now) are worked on until launch, which is why Day 1 Patches are so prevalent.

I wouldn't be surprised to see it be even smaller of a time by launch, which is ridiculous.

The CPU alone costs more than a PS5.

Astrobot initial load - menu to start of the game - is around 4 seconds. But this is all from current footage so maybe it will get faster with optimization.
Still, it's promising since we're at the beggining of the generation.

Yeah I'm not buying the rumours that Series X is overheating, well it could be true to an extent but the reasons cited have been placing the console in confined spaces, every console needs a spacious place to sit, it's common sense and it would also make sense for the PS5. If not it could just be a software issue.

The news cycles in 2020 are so short, that unless it happened yesterday people forget about it. A surprise discovery of a possible alien bio signature on Venus was in the news for one day.

So showing everything too far ahead can also be risky. If Sony sends out units with next gen games in two weeks, everyone will be talking about that prior to launch and Xbox risks becoming old news.

Both strategies have their merits, both companies are on solid footing his time. Neither is launching a PS3 or Xbox One. We are all going to get great consoles to enjoy in a month.

Astros playroom is also over 3 seconds and even Demon Souls is 3.5 seconds if you assume loading starts when the location change is triggered and finishes when you can actually control your character again. Which is not a unreasonable assumption to make, as games often hide asset loading during animations or cutscenes.

Tossing my two cents in here. Sony didn't just design the PS5 to be this large centerpiece of your entertainment center folks. I think it obvious now they made it big enough that you couldn't just simply place it inside of an enclosed space thereby starving it. Anyway, both companies definitely put these consoles through their paces. Very strange for Series X to shutting down. Microsoft must have put Series X through much worse conditions for longer periods without any issues. I still lean toward this being FUD, but I'm not so sure anymore.

There's no upgrade for DMC5 till this game. Which is annoying I already have this game. Not paying another 40. Anyway as expected. Looks like devs are still scared of just loading into game. Giving people time to run off to the toilet etc. They are keeping the screens with press X & O. Maybe the press to play button will go away.

Higher speed fans ain't going to fix this. This box isn't built for shelves.The XSX is built to stand outside on its own like a PC tower.Thats why the stand doesn't come off at the bottom. I ain't an engineer ,brainiac mofo. But I got common sense.

When the cooling is designed like the below. Pretty much can see this is stand alone ,standing tower not built for shelves.

If you put the XSX horizontally in your cabinet the heat is going to bounce off side ,top panels & just cover the XSX in more heat. Not surprised by over heating if its cabinet related.

Perhaps, but Sony does have complete control of the narrative, which is an advantage. Not to mention peoples interest, and sales for that matter, are stratospheric. Look at what's going on with the Series X at the moment. For all the rightfully positive press about it's quick resume and backwards compatibility, etc. You have people saying the Series X has shut down on them for running too hot. This is something Microsoft may be scrambling to figure out. Could be manufacturing issue, or could be where people are placing this system. Who knows, but this is a risk you take when giving your system away to random influencers.

I am disgusted with what Sony has done with their console, its an abomination.

With the ps5 being so cool, that means my fishtanks thermometers are going to have to stay on longer to combat the cool air that is circling around the room. Yep my electricity bill is going up just so you guys can have a cooler running product.

And don't even get me started on that heat sync. Since most of the copper in the world comes from Africa, and Africa is owned by China, you are making me support a communist country/ party.

nope, no one made actual test, as far as I know, but some of the previewers said that it is not overheating re. Xbsex, also ms commented on this to some degree
