I'm not even kidding, I remeber PS3 freezing much more often than seeing blue screens on PS4 which were extremely rare for me.

Seriously- if this is happening "regularly" for you, you have something wrong with your console, big time. I've had a very few apps crash back to the XMB and I've had my PS4 since DAY ONE. Yeah, it happens, but VERY INFREQUENTLY and even then the only game I can recall that actually crashed like this has been No Man's Sky....and it's kind of known for having some bugs.

XsX getting a lot of heat for the Dirt 5 performance. I think we should go a bit easy till we see how it is on PS5. All indicators are XsX was the target platform so it may be all downhill for there. Ok, overstated for effect but the point stands but it'sdefinitely happened more recently as the system has gotten more bloated. I do regular HD maintenance too so it's not that. Does anyone actually believe series x will have substantially more crashes than ps5 btw? Like to the point where people are complaining about it or returning consoles? No. Because no one has evidence of that yet. So let's the dumbass speculation from running rampant.

The heat is not because it does not look great, the heat is because it isn't 4K60... so All this crying for Demons Souls not been 4K, all this crying over Spiderman MM having a performance mode too, all this crying with R&C dynamic resolution, now it's gone...
We have been knowing for a quite a good time, next-gen games require more than current-gen games so this idea of going all the way to Native 4k was stupid, Sony understood that and never opened their mouths with "4K60 at base and 120"...

My point is, that for many symmetrical sticks are the most comfortable and best way to game, so bragging about super expensive controllers means nothing, if sticks are on wrong places wrong.
Kind of like right hand driven vs left hand driven cars, one just feels wrong to one part of the world, and other way around.
Choices are good, but I were you I would ask this:
why does MS make so bad controllers that you have to buy some really expensive alternative to enjoy from the games?
I sure enjoyed with my DS4s, pair of them were almost like new after +6000 hours and 7 years and always felt responsive, comfortable and stick placement didnt make my left thumb feel weird after 10 hour marathons, while 360 controller made it feel bad after 30 minutes.
Selling expensive and literally "elite" items is just marketing gimmick and mental images, "it must be better because it is expensive".. But in reality if normal controller gets 100 points review, does 5-10 times more expensive one be even 20 points better?
and yes, 300€ controller probably does something better than 50€ one, if it doesnt, then it would be epic waste of money.

Honestly the worst thing besides the subpar graphics of Dirt and Halo wasn’t necessarily the game, but the expectations set by Microsoft with the power narrative bs.
I personally think Halo is going to be an insansely good game when it comes out, but I don’t want Microsoft marketing to set unrealistic expectations. Same with whatever the initiative’s project is (AAAA whatever the fuck that means).

For me it's the other way. Xbox is becoming everything the fanboys are saying against what a world most powerful console is meant to be. For me this is the reason it gets even worse when the company deliver gameplay for a next gen console that is not even gets close to what next gen is about. Everything people keep complaining about ps5 for dynamic resolution, unstable framerates, poor ray tracing, heat issues etc... now they are eating their own words (I don't know if this is the right expression, English is not my main language).
I could care less about these games for PS5, we already have ratchet, spider man, demon souls, and many others coming in 2021 that we will not even need to bother anymore with these games running bad on new hardware...
