DT Fairley misses practice again, Denver game in doubt
DT Nick Fairley’s second-consecutive missed workout isn’t a good sign for his availability vs. Denver. Defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham has admitted that Fairley’s conditioning needs work, and continued foot problems will make that difficult. Fairley’s describing the injury as soreness, but multiple missed practices open the possibility of more serious injury issues.

Man our draft has been no show this year.

He is being smart. As long as he never plays, he can never be considered over-rated. Stafford could learn a lesson.

Man, Tebow really riles people up.
What if Tim Tebow were black?

Honestly while I would love to have Fairley playing it's not like D-Line depth is our real issue. Leshoure being out is the one that really hurts with Best gone for who knows how long. He was having a really good camp by all accounts.

The Rams have legitimate wide receivers? That's news to me.

Brandon Lloyd is at least an average #1. No more blaming the WRs. If Bradford can't put up points on the Cardinals and Seahawks then he is a bust.

The Frankman said:
If Brandon Lloyd wasn't legit in Denver how did become less legit in St. Louis?

Good question, freak season maybe? If you look at his career stats last season was definitely not par for the course for him.

Granted, but he definitely has been hamstrung this year by Orton's struggles and John Fox's run-heavy system. He should do better reunited with McDaniels but Bradford has to stay upright for that to happen.

Chris Harris cut? Now all our hopes rests on an unproven (but promising) rookie, a walking injury, and mr tackles-with-my-head.

Yay

Making roster room for T.O

I think people want to be more right than the pundits on this one as well. Coming out of college, despite all his success at Florida, the analysts said that Tebow basically had no business playing the sport. It basically sounded like he wasn't fit to put a uniform on and never should have been drafted.

People also relate well to someone they perceive as "one of them". For some fans, they believe that Tebow is like a regular guy who won't be corrupted by the money and fame because of his beliefs.

America loves the underdog.

Haha. Conte's stepped up nicely.

So, how many points do you think the Saints will score on the rams? What happened last week was obviously an abberation and will not happen again for a while. I think it will be a much closer game.

AJ Feely's completions averaged 1.6 yards in the air against the Cowboys. And the Rams starting corners are a combined 70 yrs old and both a year removed from major knee surgery.

The game will not be close. It's simply whether the Saints get bored, like the Packers did, and only win by 20. I can't believe the line is -15. If I gambled I would mortgage my house on that game

Dallas D is easily 1000000 times better then the Saints D. I wouldnt be surprised at all if the Rams can actually move the ball this game.

Saints still destroy them though.

I wouldn't either. Rams might very well show up in this game like they did last time. I'm scared of Sjax.

Uh, I'd put AJ Feeley at or slighly below Curtis Painter's level and the Colts are better at every other skill position than the Rams save RB and the Saints held the Colts to 7. I don't think Feeley's doing anything against the Saints. I bet the Rams score 10 or less points.

I think the rams are worse off, but this sports math is so wrong.

Was this posted? I know it's pretty much common knowledge that B-Jac won't be back with the Giants, but it's still odd to see him say it bluntly in an interview:

Speaking of which, seeing as how friend and teammate Ahmad Bradshaw's success means you’re not used as much, how are you taking it? [Ed. Note: Jacobs restructured his contract this past offseason, agreeing to a cut in his base salary. He is due a $500,000 roster bonus in March 2012, at which point the Giants may elect to waive him.]

Well, he’s not being used as much as he can be, either. It’s a very confusing thing. I’m just here, doing the best that I can do to help my team. I come out to win; it’s up to them whether or not they want to use me. I just can’t wait to get a true opportunity to get out there and show myself again, you know? Next year, hopefully. This is a business and you have to look at it that way. I just want to get out there and show myself. It’s going to have to be for another team, but it is what it is. It comes with the territory.

So you don’t see yourself with the Giants beyond this contract?
No, I don’t.

I seriously can't wait for Tebow to crush the Lions this week.

Tim Tebow hate completely boggles my mind. I seriously will never get why people are rooting for him to fail. I can't recall another player that had so many people openly rooting against him and hoping he fails miserably.

When I consider the sheer amount of information I have to catch up on (basically Week 1 until now), I feel more and more like this is a lost season.

I haven't seen Donovan play this year. Can someone explain to me what's going on? Obviously he's performed terribly, but is he actually the problem? I've heard our line/play-calling has been horrid, and I knew coming into the season that the Vikings' receiving corps was incredibly weak. Who is the real culprit here?

Also, while I was in rehab some idiot heroin addict tried insisting to me that his buddy on the outside was a huge Vikings fan and that Peterson had been benched in favor of Gerhart. This filled me was a mix of despair and hope (huge Gerhart fan), but I'm not surprised to see that Gerhart averages something like 2 carries for 5 yards per game.

Peterson is looking at some sort of injury right now... hopefully not serious. Honestly Mcnabb was bad, but that wasn't the problem. The team was winning big at the half multiple times and they blew massive leads.

Because he has fans.

Also, do you know what is worse than growing up in Patriots territory? Being locked up for three weeks with obnoxious Pats fans that all were detoxing from hard drugs at the same time.

Crack addict 1 - "BRADY IS THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME."
Crack addict 2 - "NO, HE IS BETTER THAN THAT."

It's official. Putting up with Pats fans is worse than detoxing.

He didn't say anything that wasn't common knowledge, yeah. He's accepted the back up role mainly because he and Ahmad are damn near brothers (they are roommates and very close friends) but he's never been pleased with it. Frankly, I'm surprised he remained a Giant this year but his restructuring his contract went a long way in making that happen.

He'll be 30 next season and there's no way the Giants will pay him 4.4 million to take 6-8 carries a game (though I feel he should be used more). Danny Ware and Da'Rel Scott could take those carries easily enough and Bradshaw will be the obvious go to back in pass blocking considering how good he's gotten at it.

Some more Jacobs comments from the post practice media session:

TheBlueScreen Ralph Vacchiano
Brandon Jacobs says his knee feels great, but he's definitely frustrated with his role on the Giants and lack of carries. #NYG

TheBlueScreen Ralph Vacchiano
However, Jacobs has no regrets over decision to accept pay cut and return, even though he has no shot at reaching contract incentives. #NYG

Also, Stacy Andrews didn't practice with back issues and...

NYPost_Schwartz Paul Schwartz
Reading between lines, Coughlin seemed to indicate Prince Amukamara and Ramses Barden will not play this week. #nyg
Barden would need to be activated off of PUP and someone would need to be cut (likely happen next week) and Prince is coming along but apparently still a bit limited by his foot. Save him for the Pats, I guess. Trial by fire and all that.:)

Glad to see you back, sir. Don't know the whole backstory but hopefully you got things sorted out. Having to be confined to a room with Pats fans should be reason enough not to go back down that road.

Anyone going to be at Cowboys/Eagles game in Philly this Sunday night? Going with a few of my friends and would be more than willing to kick an Eagle gaffer in the face.

I will be there.

  1. Offensive co-ordinator for criminal underusage of Percy Harvin.
  2. Team for continuing to employ Bernard Berrian for so long.
  3. Donovan McNabb himself for not realizing he had to improve accuracy.

He's a poor QB who is getting pushed to THE STARS for beating a team Sucking For Luck... hey, they beat the Steelers or the Patriots, I'm crowning the dude. But the Dolphins? THE DOLPHINS?

Tell me Godslay, are you remotely happy in your QB? His organization doesn't even believe in him, judging by the playcalls in that game. They almost put him in a situation to fail, but the Dolphins were just too good, they showed heart and grit and were determined to lose that game.

I won't even get into the question of white/black QB history, I beat that topic to death last week.

Pushed to the stars? Really? Half the analysts crucify him openly on tv more than any other player I have seen analysts do.

Denver got themselves in this mess but considering that they are not and should not build around Orton, they have to see what they have in Tebow before drafting/signing another QB. Of course the religion part attracts some non football fans and extra hype but that is not Tebow's fault and nor is it Denvers.
