If Mark Ingram doesn't play this week for the Saints, they just got back CHris Ivory from PUP and that sonofabitch is a roadgrader. I hope to see him given some touches in this game.

Also, FMT will be pleased to know that De La Puente is the starting center and he is doing well. I'm pretty high on the kid. Saints have run much better with him at center than with Kreutz.

i always liked de la puente. like i said before, it was unfortunate that he got pushed out by the numbers game and higher draft picks who aren't as talented as he is :(

i only wish the worst for other NFC teams (and really other NFL teams) but i don't mind backing a former niner practice squad player who deserved a shot!

Could use some fantasy assistance fellas, on a few issues, as this will be a tough week for my team (Rodgers bye week, he totally carries my team):

QB pickup, who do you guys like better, Fitzpatrick v. WAS or Hasselbeck v. IND? I'm leaning towards Fitz. Hasselbeck is vs. IND, but he's got no one to throw to...
It's interesting because WSH corners aren't bad, but he can throw to Fred Jackson. Go with Fitz.
My RB's are Best, Hillis and Ingram (ouch, I know), so I have to choose between Jackie Battle, Bernard Scott and Roy Helu. Leaning towards Battle and Scott. Helu to me is a risk, could be big, could be nothing. The other two seem safer.
Battle and Scott, Bengals will play run-heavy and Battle showed 20+ carry stuff his last game (why he was vultured twice I'll never know)
WR's are Megatron, Brandon Marshall, Crabtree and Steve Breaston. Leaning towards Mega, Marshall and Breaston. Mega and Marshall are definites. I'm nervous of Crabtree against Joe Haden...
I'd steer clear of Marshall, Corey Webster has done a good job on WR1s and you're assuming Moore will remain upright vs. the healthy Giants' pass rushing unit.
TE's are Vernon Davis and Fred Davis. Leaning towards Vernon, as Cleveland has been horrible covering TE's, second worst in the league. Fred is hot tho...
With Vernon you have to watch out for Delanie Walker, Hunter, Crabtree, and now Edwards. Fred is pretty much the only big play threat for the Skins, go Fred.

Brady vs Pittsburgh or Hasselbeck vs IND. Not sure who to go with.

Benching Brady for Hasselbeck is an actual thought in your mind. You get a head injury or something or do you somehow not know the numbers he's put up for you this year? His worse game was 300+ yards and a TD.

I know the numbers. He's had less than 20 fantasy points the last 3 games. Plus ESPN says that Pitt has the best pass defense right now. And after IND gave up 62 points last week anyone even Hasselbeck can destroy them.

This is what I'm thinking. Jackson + Johnson >>> CJ2K and ... Washington? Not to mention it's more likely Tennessee will be up and retreat to the run quicker than Buffalo, if they are at all.

Agreed, figured this was a simple question. I made mild attempts to acquire either CJ2K or DeMarco Murray via trade (almost got a Hillis + Crabtree for CJ2K deal done), but no such luck.

Here, I think you're nuts. In this regard Crabtree vs. Haden is a much worse matchup, Haden is a pro bowl shutdown corner, perhaps one of the game's best right now. Plus Marshall has been a target hog the last two weeks with Moore, against Revis and Bailey.

He would've had a HUGE game last week if the Fins weren't able to retreat to the run so early. I can't put that aside and take the risk with Crabs AND Breaston.

Which of those do you like better? Crabs? Breaston?

True, true. I just think Edwards won't be a huge factor, and Crabs might get shut down, leaving Vernon to soak up the rest. But the same argument is said for Fred of course.

Misleading stat Pittsburgh hasn't played a great passing team yet. The only one they played was Houston, but Andre Johnson got hurt in that game. I mean just look at the QBs they have faced so far.

I just read Mike Sando explain how Bradford could be traded if the Rams want Luck. It would make so much sense - Rams get picks, get out of Bradford's contract, get Andrew fuckin' Luck - but there is no way it could happen, could it? If the Rams get the pick they essentially decide the market.

And the Rams wouldn't risk having both Bradford and Luck on the roster, right?

Yeah Mike Sando's dumb.

They could make it work as far as keeping both. Chris Long's awful contract is over after the year. But Bradford is untradeable. All his pro-rated bonus money would accelerate in to the 2012 cap, immediately putting them over.

I really can't see them getting that pick, though. They'll win at least 2 games, which will be enough to miss out.

make no mistake, bradford is done. i don't mean he can't have some productive games or be an average qb, but the "franchise" label is done. i've already seen this story before and i know how it ends (it's called the alex smith story).

but unlike bradford, the alex smith story got a sequel.... Phoenix Rising: The Alex Smith story directed by jim harbaugh

Rodgers bye week?

no, I just have a shitty QB situation and it's a 14 team league. I drafted Kolb in like the 9th round thinking he'd be a sleeper. Dropped him couple weeks ago. I started John Beck last week which turned out pretty well. I'm treating my QB like my defense. just playing matchups every week.

I also started Alex Smith couple weeks ago when he had that 3td game against the bucs. just praying for 200 yds and a td.

Ah. Just play the QB vs the Colts or Raiders. Free points!

As a Lions fan, I am a Jay Cutler fan every week. Jay, don't stop throwing interceptions until your career is done with the Bears. Go Mr. Sacks Mcgee!

I want to argue, but there's nothing I can really use. I guess he has kept his INTs down, though his ratio since the middle of last year has gotten really bad.

But I hold out hope. After the Saints are some scrubby teams, and the Rams can show something there. Gotta hope for the best, b/c even if Bradford is legit they still need to turn over 95% of the roster

As a bears fan, I'm a Mathew Stafford fan every week. Come on, keep doing good so all the Lions fans can shed tears when you go on IR and they finish 5-11

You must have missed the last two games.

I will shed tears no matter the outcome of this season

Did I mention I'm a Giants fan? :D

Strangely enough I like Breaston. Alex is too much into game managing mode.

Is Crabtree even going up against Haden? If Braylon starts this week wouldn't Haden be matched up on him?

Harbaugh backed off on Edwards starting...I have a feeling he might come in first as a 3rd receiver if he goes at all..

Have any elite QBs been drafted in the last 5 years?
It's hard to tell in such a short time frame because the third or fourth year is the make or break year for QBs. I know everyone wants QBs to just come in and start dominating, but maybe more teams will take the "wait and learn" approach as the first round pick will no longer be getting paid more than the entire offensive line starting offense.

These last two years have been QB fests for some reason. Teams taking chances on shitty looking QBs in the early rounds. Not that it means much, but the only Pro Bowl QB in the last 5 years is Matt Ryan. There haven't been any real good QBs in those years. The media seems to love Ryan/Flacco/Sanchez, because of the playoff wins, but they look like ass to me. Ryan less so than the other two, but he hasn't impressed me very much. They seem to be coming around to seeing Sanchez for what he is, though.

Anyway, all that said, this year's class seems to be better than all of the last 5 years, but we have to see what their sophomore slump looks like next year.

3 years is the timeframe for any player to develop. After 3 seasons you can tell if the player is good or not.

2012 draft will feature Luck, Barkley, and Landry.
