Last Thursdays game wasn't too bad and had a nice amount of points scored, can we please get a repeat showing not a normal thursday dud. Also have 3 players playing tonight in one league fml.

Giants update:

Owa is still not practicing. Tried to do some yesterday and his foot got sore. Not likely to play.

Daniel Fells is also likely out. He was in a walking boot most of the week. He's out of it now but not practicing (he had a good game against Dallas, too)

Victor Cruz is still not cleared to run. Not practicing still. Likely out.

Flowers will likely be limited today but all signs point to no issues with him playing Sunday at LT.

Hey NFL-GAF bros, played Rocket League for the first time the other day. It was hella fun but we were getting wrecked. Any tips for a newbie?

I know it's early but i'm glad the Steelers didn't go for Odiggy like I wanted considering his injury issues. Though the second round pick they did pick up is on IR so what do I know.

Considering the Giants got him in the third, I'm still glad they grabbed him. He had a good summer. It's ashame his foot is holding him out. He and Moore developing are the best chance we have at rebuilding the defensive line. Moore though is not likely to be more than a pass rush specialist until he gets stronger. He doesn't hold up well against the run. He's gotten better but frankly, I think he'd be farther along if he was playing in a 3-4 as a linebacker.

Tom Coughlin on Ereck Flowers: "Basically, he said I'm playing and I'm practicing. So, I mean, it's a breath of fresh air." #Giants #NYG

Seems like Victor Cruz has quite a ways to go if he's not even running yet. Any idea on when he'll be back?

Tonight's Thursday night game actually looks good. This never happened last year.

If we can't slow down the Niners on offense than I will give up the season and possibly football (for about 2 days).

Gotta love must wins in week 2!

Initial projection was likely week 3-4. At this point though, I would guess that's not happening. He hasn't even really started running yet.

I think Diggy is perfect for the Giants (assuming he sorts out his injury situation long term) as with JPPs injury they are forced to commit to rebuilding their Defense and need pieces to grow with the team. Steelers are at the juncture where they need guys on the field. If the Pats game reinforced anything (besides the fact that the Pats are dirty cheaters) it's that the Steelers communication sucks.

As for Moore, Giants always seemed comfortable with Pass rush only guys considering their love hate relationship with Umeniyora.

Gronk on Rex saying only King Kong could cover him 1-on-1: Like I said, you've got to prepare for anyone.

I had to get to the bottom of this so I just asked Gronk if he could catch a touchdown pass on King Kong: "I hope so. Yeah."

DEN @ KC - Upset of the week. I expect a very close game. Like 14-13 close.

NE @ BUF
TEN @ CLE - Mariota v. JFF. At least JFF is better than Winston, right?
HOU @ CAR
ARI @ CHI
SD @ CIN
DET @ MIN
TB @ NO
ATL @ NYG - I think this is going to be one of the best games of the week. If OBJ can learn to catch again.
SF @ PIT - Huge test for our team, PIT is much better on offense than the Vikings but also worse on defense. I like our chances.
STL @ WAS

BAL @ OAK - Is Carr okay? Either way this won't be close.
MIA @ JAC - Miami will continue to build confidence
DAL @ PHI - The revolution lives for another week!

SEA @ GB - GB pulls it out in the last minute after a Wussel fumble.

NYJ @ IND - Luck bounces back and absolutely annihilates the Jets.

My Titans getting picked to win. Let's hope we don't have a repeat of last season (great week 1 dominance, utter fail the rest of the season).

I think if you ignore the hand issue, you're still left with the fact that he looks nowhere near ready to play regardless. If you watch that workout video he posted, he doesn't look he's close to in game shape. His weight is obviously way, way down. If he can rebuild himself in 6-7 weeks, there might be something there but the hand issues are only the start of the problems for him.

At this point his season is a wash. I don't think that means he's done as a player or anything though. He's right about his finger and thumb. If he can get back into shape he can still be a good player at the position he played. I just view this whole thing as if he tore his ACL over the summer, except the way he did it was far more stupid in reality.

How necessary are your hands to swim and rip? seems like having an index finger is important to that process.

I feel bad for the Giants. JPP handled this in the worst fucking way possible.

heh..handled.

Only thing I could think of would be the effect it has on grip strength for a swim or a rip, but I think that's probably not even that large a part of it cause it's not like you're trying to hold on, just push their arm out of the way.

They could probably even compensate for the hand by what technique he lines up in.
