If Collins is really fucked, I hope he doesn't force himself back. He's a young dude and gots 50 or so years left. No need fucking that up for 1 more try. He got a ring, played more seasons than most can say.

Falcons nab Asante:
The Atlanta Falcons acquired Philadelphia Eagles Pro-Bowl cornerback Asante Samuel for a late-round pick, league sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter on Wednesday.

As part of the deal, Samuel restructured his contract, agreeing to a three-year, $18.5 million contract with the Falcons. Samuels' contract with the Eagles had called for him to earn $9.9 million in 2012 and $11.4 million in 2013.
I wonder who's getting cut or restructured. Ovie's making something like $3-4 million this year.

I like the deal. Chris Owens is such a massive liability in the nickel spot, and Dominique Franks hasn't shown much staying power there, either. Feel much more comfortable with putting Asante, Robinson, and Grimes out as a trio. Plus the coverage helps our (meager) pass rush.

I'm liking it as well. Heard some people calling to put Dunta in the nickel spot (not sure how that would turn out), but as you said, it should only help out our pass rush.

I'll feel sad for Ovie if/when he gets cut. He's done well for us, but we do need some additional flexibility with the cap now, and it doesn't look like he'll fit in the new system.

I cant wait to hear what round the pick is in. Asante is going to do great with the Falcons, I really wish things could have worked out with all 3 CBs here.

God I hope the Vikes are dumb enough to not draft Kalil. Nightmare scenario for Bucs is both Richardson and Claiborne gone, so I don't know what they'd do if he's available.

I don't care if he can't run block. Saffold and Smith can't run or pass block and still committ like 20 penalties a game.

Grimes will play inside on nickel packages. He's the quickest of the three.

Ovie's a stud blocker, but Snelling has the flexibility to provide most of his production at a portion of the cost.

Glad to have Asante out of the East. He can't tackle for shit and can be beat deep but he was excellent at generating turnovers and he gave Eli fits at times.

Meetings are a massive waste of time. Clients are stupid.

Client meetings make me want to cut off my left foot in rage.

Dontari Poe falling to the Steelers would be amazing.

But no fucking way that happens.

Mayock posted his mock. He only does one.

Interesting having Blackmon going to Cleveland, Clairborne to the Rams and Floyd to the Jets.

Cox? Yes please (no homo)

Kiper thinking the Lions will take a reach @ RB in the first round = laughable. First 3 rounds will be DE, LB, OT in come combination. Book it.

I really don't understand the obsession about Weeden's age.

Like he would make sense to the Browns, literally nobody in that organization is going to be around 5 years from now if they keep being the same old Cleveland Browns.

Not saying he's worth a first round pick or whatever, just the fact that he's 28 is kind of irrelevant.

He's got likely 5 years (pretty much his first contract) to learn an offense and perform in his prime.

Ole Miss drivers will have to go slower because of Eli Manning:

Drivers on the Ole Miss campus will have to take their foot off the gas pedals thanks to one Elisha Nelson Manning.

The two-time Super Bowl MVP was honored by his alma mater this weekend when the speed limit on a road near the school's football stadium was changed to 10 mph, a nod to Manning's jersey number.

At least Manning gets respect in his college town. As he joked to an audience in Oxford, he's not getting it in New York.

"[The Giants] just won a championship yet I'm still the third most-talked-about quarterback in my own city," he said.

I'm flipping tables if that happens

Why would they do this? Kevin Smith, Leshoure, and Best is a great group of running backs. Best will more than likely stay healthy this year if they play those guys equally.

If anything draft on your O-line for more run blocking and make sure Stafford doesn't get blown up

Exactly. People put way to much stock in CBs tackling ability.
Can't say I agree.

Look at all of that tackling! (to be fair the Falcons secondary was just outraced) I could post myriad of footage of Eagles corners letting running backs have their way with them as well if you'd like. Of course the Eagles have fuck all for linebackers which doesn't help either but why lessen the amount of impact a good tackling DB can have on the second level of your defense? Covering the deep ball is fine but what does it matter if they can't stop a 15 yard gain from turning into a TD?
