New logos for the NFL's media properties (if anyone's interested):

Was brand recognition really a problem for the nfl?

Got a question for both Packer and Steeler GAF:

1. Packer-GAF: apparently Demetryious Bell is visiting you guys, you think there's a chance you'll be overly interested? He's the Cards last hope of being spared Levi Brown on the left side :(

I thought Marshall Newhouse did pretty well all things considered at LT. Bryan Bulaga is still a decent choice for either RT or LT. The fact that Green Bay is even looking at Bell suggests to me that Sherrod is considered a gigantic bust and his prospects for returning from injury aren't good.

The NFL Films logo change is irking me the most. The old logo had an air of class and tradition to it. The new one (as most are) is garbage.

I read that NFL Films is basically fucked.

Kind of like the transition between porn on film to porn on video, there's going to be a dramatic drop in quality.

Still waiting on a better version of "Road to the Super Bowl" for Green Bay!

Love how the year we win is the year that that release is awful.

I think he's talking about the collection of full games (all playoff games and some regular season) which never came out on Blu Ray for our year.
Yep. It looks like the Giants may get the short end of the stick on a BD release of the Road to the Super Bowl as well.:(

To answer the earlier question about Cowboys/Giants ratings:

Giants-Cowboys is ratings gold. The 2011 season finale between the teams on NBC -- a 31-14 win by the Giants -- was the most watched Sunday Night Football game ever (27.6 million viewers) and the most-watched primetime game on any network since a Packers-Cowboys game in 1996

Sucks. In a pc, sucks eggs sort of way, not in the banned from gaf, sucks dick sort of way.

Well he's really there to fill in for Marshall who went to the Phins for money. So we only need him as a nickel/backup. Marshall was valuable because he filled in at FS when Rhodes was out last season but now that he's back, we don't need someone quite as versatile. Unless Toler sucks as the #2 CB coming off of his injury :O

Was Sherrod really that much of a bust? What was the problem? Health or technique? Just seems a bit soon to call a guy a bust after rookie year.

That's why the good Lord Godgers created bit torrent and 720P TV rips.

Blurays would be nice though. I'd buy it for sherbet.
Those TV Rips don't have shit on a well produced BR.

I was not going to blame Erron for this mistake by the NFL, but here we clearly have a Packers fan telling us that it is all Errons fault that we don't get these NFL games on Blu Ray and instead are forced to rely on piracy and shitty virus laden torrent rips.

OAKLAND RAIDERS ‏ @RAIDERS

The Oakland Raiders have added free agent defensive back Pat Lee.

Also:

Dan Graziano ‏ @espn_nfceast

RT @NYPost_Hubbuch: John Mara just told me the Giants expect to complete Tom Coughlin's contract extension in the next month to 6 weeks.
Betting it's a two year deal.

Why only 2? He's won two chips in a handful of years, I think he's earned more than that. Money tight?
The last time he won it they gave him a 4 year contract so that's a distinct possibility but considering his age (he'll be 66 soon), I'm guessing a 2 year lucrative contract might make more sense for him. It's also what they gave him the last time they extended him. It has nothing to do with money.

No details yet, but the Lions resigned Kevin Smith to a 1 year deal

I'm happy for him and hope a full training camp will get him fully up to speed physically. I'd love to see him healthy and effective enough to split carries with Best for speed, while LeShoure becomes the power runner/third down back.

And theres like a 20% chance 1 of the 3 is still healthy by the start of the regular season.

Rooting for KSmith though! Only so many UCF guys in the league and most of them are missing a few screws :(

The problem is, Leshoure isn't just a power back. The guy can probably carry the load, splitting time with Smith and Best, with Best being a more situation thing. I hope the best for Smith to and was really impressed with the way he ran last year. Hopefully he stays on the field, considering we don't know if Leshoure and Best will ever be 100%. But the issue will continue to be the O-line, who essentially force our running game to make their own push because they suck so much at run blocking.
