Del Rio as HC, Trestman as OC, Mike Smith as DC.
I'm good with that, I'm assuming Mike Tice is looking for a new job, he's worked with both Del Rio and Mike Smith. I'd bring him in as line coach.
Not a bad idea.

Q. Are you a 3-4 guy?
A. I would consider myself a whatever-it-takes-to-win guy. If its a 3-4, thats fine, if that fits your players. I think you have to be able to fit your defense around the players you have. With what offenses are doing nowadays in the National Football League, theyre playing a lot of three wide receivers and a tight end and a running back, for the most part. In those situations, were going to be in kind of a 4-3 anyway, but were still going to be able to run the 3-4 also. It gives you a little bit more versatility, I think.
Q. So your feelings for the 3-4 are based more on what offenses around the league are doing now. Is that correct?
A. Yes. I also think theres still a place for the 3-4, and the reason I think theres still a place for it is because you also have to be versatile as a defense as offenses are trying to be versatile. So we dont want to blow it up and say we wont run the 3-4 anymore. We will run the 3-4, but we will run some 4-3 also, in our sub-package.
You guys think John Fox will actively pursue another HC gig or will he say fuck you Broncos and take a 2 year paid vacation?
Where's dk? We need to discuss these quotes:
Speaking of 3-4 and 4-3. Belichick specifically went 3-4 for many years because almost everyone was running 4-3 and it was easier to get players for 3-4 after everyone drafted and took players that fit 4-3 better in free agency. Dude is a kook..or a genius.

Doesn't sound that different from Lebeau to be honest - 34 base, 43 pack. I'm hoping Butler is serious about playing to his personnel though. Steelers D was still operating as if Troy was 27 last year. Get the athletes on the field.Where's dk? We need to discuss these quotes:
Now looking like Gase will stick with Denver. Fuck this!
In Denver meeting with Elway this morning
That was Parcells' reasoning. Belichick didn't do shit but steal Parcells' philosophy.

LJ didn't chan suck?
I really don't want him as an oc.
Mech I am releasing your shackles. If it's true Rodgers won the MVP you have my blessing to go wild in here for a few days.
I don't believe Parcell's rationale to go 3-4 revolved around the salary cap and roster building.

You will regret your decision.
NEW ORLEANS » California authorities have been ordered to turn former NFL All-Pro safety Darren Sharper over to U.S. Marshals in New Orleans, where he faces state and federal charges that he drugged women so he could sexually assault them.
Sharper is jailed in California on charges that he drugged and raped two women there. He also faces charges in Arizona and is under investigation in other states. State and federal charges in Louisiana were filed in December.

#Raiders OC Greg Olson set to fly to Jax today to interview for their OC job, source said. Impressed this season with Derek Carr development

If the report is true. The Raiders are getting a great damn coach. He will revive that locker room and organization.
Trestman would be pretty awesome as an OC

Not salary cap per say, but the fact that there are only so many athletic lineman and LBs to go around. I think it was termed his "Planet Theory".

The #Giants are adding Tim Walton (former #Rams DC) as their CBs/secondary coach, per source. Replaces Peter Giunta
Giants...
John Mara coming up on WFAN. Reese is an hour from now and Coughlin is up an hour after that with Francessa.
hahah yeah.I love how Francesa doesn't even have the self control to not interrupt John freaking Mara of all people. Dude loves his own voice.

Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota will announce today that he is indeed turning pro, eligible for 2015 NFL draft, per sources.
They played a lot of 2-4 nickle, I guess if you count the olb's as de's and Troy as a lb, it would be a 4-3. I don't remember the Steelers really playing any true 4-3 this year, other than being in prevent cover 2 or goal line. I think that Butler may be hinting at using a 4-3 rather than a nickel against 11 personnel. Possibly use Shazier's speed at Troy's old "lb" spot. Good luck to teams trying to run the ball against Heyward, Tuitt, McClendon and McCullers. No depth there, though, thanks to teams picking the practice squad clean.
With Todd Bowles landing in NY, Seahawks DC Dan Quinn is now the favorite to land the Falcons HC job, per league sources. Atlanta is interviewing Lions defensive coordinator Teryl Austin today, and he will have his chance to impress the Falcons, and try to change their minds and anything is possible. But sources close to and familiar with the Falcons situation believe Atlanta is willing to wait for Quinn, and Quinn is willing to wait for them, and he is the leading contender at this time to become the Falcons next head coach. Quinn and the Falcons already have met once, and will be allowed to do so next week, whether or not the Seahawks win or lose Sundays conference championship game. There is a window next week for teams that already interviewed candidates to interview them again. Under the rules, the Broncos cannot interview Quinn, but the Falcons and Bears would be able to do so. Maybe the biggest advantage and lure that Atlanta has is its quarterback, Matt Ryan. His presence has made the Falcons job arguably the most appealing one available.
Good news RBH
From Schefter
Kraft said Belichick was hired because he also understood the cap and the story he notes is the 3-4 one I'm talking about.

At 10:30 in the interview he talks for like a minute on it
Terrance Knighton said he wants to follow Del Rio to Oakland
Pot Roast and Jelly.. oh yeah
Damn I'm starting to get a little too hyped
I think that's being a bit optimistic, getting those 4 heavies on the field at once. McCullers specifically. He doesn't have the awareness to be a pass rush specialist. Not yet anyway.
If Butler actually does commit I would expect the 4th guy to be Worilds (or a FA). Worilds has experience with his hand in the dirt as it is, plus it gives them more versatility.
Only bad thing about that is all of the good assistants will be gone.
Pot Roast and Jelly got me feeling all gitty. Raiders have the cap space to do so, cut Woodley, Antonio Smith, Schoob, and MJD. That's like another 20 million freed up.
Reese being strangely forthcoming in admitting that the Giants did not have Odell Beckham Jr. rated above Sammy Watkins.
