NFL Pro Bowl Week: Neon Deion vs. The Fumbling Fraud

I just wish they weren't so damn obvious about drafting Manziel. At this point, I wouldn't be shocked if they get conned into trading up for him.

If you stay at 4, you're either getting Manziel, Clowney, Barr, or Bridgewater. Any of those guys would be acceptable IMO.

I didn't really buy it until today, when both Grossi and King said flat out they were, and Pettine made his comments about wanting a running QB

But yeah, they need to stay put at 4. He's a high risk pick, and while I think there is demand, I can't see anyone jumping up higher than that to take that gamble

As far as waiting, though, no way. They are clearly getting their QB. I watched those games last year and you could see the whole team deflate when Weeden or Campbell did something dumb, and inversely play with more spirit when Hoyer was doing well. It happens with all teams. They'll sort of quit when they think they can't win with the QB they have

Edelman is not a luxury. At all. He was the ONLY consistent option all year and you guys want to let him walk because we have Amendola and TJ MOE? Fuckin hell.

I want Edelman back at the right price, but I don’t think he’s the kind of player a team should overextend itself for. If the Panthers or Texans or whatever other team in need of a slot receiver wants to overpay for him, the Patriots should let him walk. They have a lot of needs that have to be addressed this offseason and slot receiver is significantly less of a necessity than pass rusher, defensive tackle, cornerback, and guard/center. If they let Talib walk, the drop to Dennard and Ryan is steep. If they let Edelman walk, the drop to Amendola, Boyce, and TJ Moe isn’t as steep. Edelman is certainly deserving of a quality extension, but you can’t pay everyone.

Speaking of free agency, I feel like the Broncos aren’t being given enough credit for how great their free agency class was this year. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Shaun Phillips, Wes Welker, Louis Vasquez, and Terrence Knighton were all fantastic additions. If the Patriots had signed each of those players instead of Amendola, Tommy Kelly, Leon Washington, and Adrian Wilson, I think that would have tipped the scales in their favor against the Broncos.

Dear NFL-GAF,

Should I buy Rust and join you guys?

Sincerely,
Tragicomedy
yes
McCluster, Tate, and Brown are all better yards wise, but he's damn good no doubt. Welker rarely returns punts in Denver, so I don't think you can hold that against him when comparing the two.

As WRs, I think they are fairly close. The one thing Edelman has going for him is youth, so to say he's a better player right now could very well be true. When Wes was 27, he was putting up more impressive numbers though. Either way they are close right now, with Edelman in his prime and Wes exiting it.

They've already paid the guy they thought was the future at that spot. So if they resign Edelman there is some duplication of roles with Amendola. Better to keep Amendola, and dedicate Edelman money elsewhere imo.

Edelman might be better, but Amendola can replicate that production, I think, and you'd have a bit of cash to push towards a decent WR. Even though there won't be much out there in terms of FA. There's Kenny Britt and Maclin and that's about it. So they're in a weird spot, where they might have to draft or feed off of someone else's scraps if they don't resign him.

Off to work, have a good day guys!
Welker returned some punts in New England, and he was pretty bad.

If the Pats let Welker and Edelman go to be replaced by Amendola, that would be such a huge mistake. I don't know why we should rely on him to replicate the production of guys who played all 16 games when he hasn't proven that he can stay on the field.

Most important thing about this offseason is that Browns come out of the draft with the Qb they want. If they have to trade up then So be it.

I'd be happy to join yall in Rust but it sounds like with the current model the game has a short shelf life in terms of fun

Plus I just know that ez will shoot me in the back and I'm too emotionally fragile to handle that!!

There's gonna be a ton of guys in Free Agency. Nicks, Sanders, Baldwin, tons of possession guys. Pats will have their pick of the litter. Personally I think Sanders is a Patriot at the end of FA; good, but not amazing, can play flanker or slot, won't command a high salary. Perfect for the Patsies.

Sanders as in the guy they tried to give you guys a third rounder for last year? If he's a free agent now the Pats will probably jump on him immediately. Another guy I expect the Pats to go hard at (and who I really want) is Michael Johnson of the Bengals. He's supposed to be a FA and the Pats wanted him last year as well before the Bengals franchised him, might be too expensive as well though.

Edelman is not a luxury. At all. He was the ONLY consistent option all year and you guys want to let him walk because we have Amendola and TJ MOE? Fuckin hell.

I don't want to let him walk at all, have you seen how handsome he is? I just think that with the limited cap space the Pats might be forced to do it.

It's $20 and it is only getting better, be a cool guy and get it early so you can brag to your friends about playing it before it was cool.
Okay, I think I will. What's the server?

Also, I really hope the Chefs can pick up a good WR this offseason. Draft a TE and secondary, pick up a proven WR, profit.

Hey NFL-GAF, anyone here know if there's a free stream for the Superbowl?

This is the first year I'm away from home and all I have is a laptop. Missing the playoffs was one thing, but I can't imagine missing the Superbowl.

Also, I'd love to join you guys in Rust whenever you guys are playing.

The last highest picked offensive guy was Gronk in the 2nd.

They also drafted Shane Vereen and Aaron Dobson in the second round. I definitely think Belichick would draft a tight end in the first round if they right one fell. I think he'd take Eric Ebron in a heartbeat, but I'm still not sure about Jace Amaro.

My worst nightmare is Bill leaving and his replacement comes in and fills the roster with ugly dudes. I would probably just move to Houston.

Ebron doesnt last that long. Maybe they go D line and trade up in the 2nd for Sefarian-Jenkins.

Yeah. I meant the first round.

Belichick typically drafts trench guys high. He doesn't value offensive skill guys with high picks. Just thinks he can get any JAG with a love for the game to produce. So far he's been right. I'm sure Laurence Maroney being a complete bust just reinforces that.

That may change with Brady's game going in the toilet, but I doubt it.

I think nfl.com or fox sports should have it online,

Ez there are plenty of nerds out there to hunt, why must you target your nflgaf brothers?

There is no hunting like the hunting of man, and those who have hunted armed men long enough and liked it, never care for anything else thereafter.

Should've mentioned I'm in Canada, NFL.com only works with one of the ISPs here.

Don't know about Fox sports though. Hoping that works.

Thanks guys.

The only thing I know for sure is that Pats aren't overpaying anybody. Unfortunately they will be like " We were competitive with a decimated team " so they will do basically nothing and the odds are still pretty good they get as far as they did this year but come up a game or 2 short again.

remember when you had a real qb who started like 300 games without missing a practice

Unlike the Patriots the Packers can win without their overrated vagina taking all the snaps. One little injury and the Dolphons win the division? Pathetic.
