Jets announced they have suspended Sal Alosi indefinitely because they discovered he instructed players to form a wall on sidelines.
Right, the S&C coach asked the players by himself to stand by the sideline, and the players listened. Were they doing some kind of exercise there?Seda said:

Get your wild rumor hats on. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is asking questions!
It didn't take long for the speculation about the next Denver Broncos head coach to reach our own Mike Mularkey, he of the 14-18 career coaching record and questionable offensive wizardry. D. Orlando Ledbetter painstakingly draws out the links: An interim coach who served on Mularkey's Buffalo staff, developed Matt Ryan along Bill Musgrave and is capable of guiding a conservative, run-first attack.
It makes an awful lot of sense on paper, and even the record probably won't scare the Broncos off. After all, as they have been for the rest of the decade, the Bills weren't all that great back in 2004-05, when he served as their coach. You should also take with a grain of salt the fact that Mularkey said he hasn't been contacted, because as DOL notes himself, teams aren't technically allowed to contact coaches during a season. With Mularkey admitting that he wants to lead a team again, this could be his shot to do so.
The ultimate irony here would be if the Falcons lose Mularkey in the off-season and bring aboard Josh McDaniels as an offensive coordinator, which would be a straight swap with the Broncos. I expect Mularkey going elsewhere would be greeted with some enthusiasm by some quarters, but he has been a steady hand at the helm of this offense. Tough to say if McDaniels' more aggressive approach or one from someone else entirely would resonate with this team, but we may have to find out.

They are. I listen to them often for the spot they do with Carl Banks and Antrel Rolle.Fox318 said:Yeah but they are funny as hell.
Not entirely contrived to be frank. The only game in that scenario that I have serious doubts will happen is the Vikings beating the Bears after the performance they put on against the Giants this past Monday. All the rest of the games are toss-ups and that scenario could very well play out.DeaconKnowledge said:Ugh. I hate these contrived clinching scenarios.

Don't Count Out Fassel
The last time the Broncos held a head coaching search, they went against a trend. The Broncos gave Josh McDaniels his first head coaching job in January 2009, even though nine of the previous 11 Super Bowl champions were led by head coaches in their second stints.
The nine "retreads" with their Super Bowl-championship seasons Mike Shana- han (1997-98), Dick Vermeil (1999), Bill Belichick (2001, 2003-04), Jon Gruden (2002) Tony Dungy (2006) and Tom Coughlin (2007).
Since then, the last two Super Bowl winners were first- time head coaches Pittsburgh's Mike Tomlin (2008) and New Orleans' Sean Payton (2009).
Despite this recent run, Broncos owner Pat Bowlen may be gun-shy about hiring a first-time head coach again. If so, Jim Fassel may get a look. He led the New York Giants to Super Bowl XXXV and, perhaps just as important, was the Broncos' offensive coordinator in 1993 when John Elway had his only 4,000-yard passing season.
http://chiefsblog.kansascity.com/?q=node/1598Matt Cassel was suited up and participating in today's practice, the first of the week for the Chiefs as they get ready for Sunday's game against the Rams in St. Louis.
During the brief portion of practice open to the media, Cassel was running with his teammates (though he lagged behind the other quarterbacks). He stretched and then was first in line, a position reserved for the starter, when the quarterbacks started throwing.
He was handing off to running backs while Brodie Croyle and Tyler Palko started position drills by throwing to the wide receivers. Cassel later was in the huddle and did some throwing during a drill in which all three quarterbacks, each with a ball in hand, throws to a receiver down the field.
Cassel threw three deep passes but only one with a strong zip. He showed good accuracy, there was no defense in place.
My guess on his availablilty Sunday? There's clearly a chance he will play against the Rams. Otherwise, the Chiefs wouldn't have allowed him to be practicing. But it also appears the Chiefs aren't counting on him being ready.
Mrbob said:Hahahaha, now the University of Minnesota wants people to go shovel out their stadium for free. The Vikings originally posted they were paying people 10 bucks an hour for 6 hour shifts, and the University said ahhhhhhhhh no. So the Vikings pulled this off their website and the university is hoping people will now come help for nothing. :lol
Also, as much as I love Rex Ryan rants he should be suspended as well. How could he not have known what was going on? He is the head coach. In the history of the NFL nothing like this has ever happened.
Cheech said:I was at that game and it was one of the most boring NFL games I've ever attended. My group was joking with each other regarding how many punts were missed while on bathroom/snack runs.
The weather was shitty too. We left after the Lions missed the field goal in the third quarter. It had hit the magic point in the game where we didn't give a shit who won. I was bored senseless, and we had a loooong drive home in horrible weather.

Edit: Mario Williams to IR. Makes sense. I'd put AJ on IR too with that ankle.
Wouldn't this work the other way around?FrenchMovieTheme said:get the fuck out of here that the jets strength & conditioning coach acted alone. the only reason he hasn't been fired is because the jets know this runs deeper and if he's fired he's going to sing.
i have no rooting interest in the AFC but only the jets could turn me into a patriots supporter.
