NFS Most Wanted Vita - Developed by Criterion, not dumbed down or cut content

Yeah Ill get this. Havent played an NFS since prostreet but if devs put in the effort to support the vita with quality efforts instead of the usual half-baked portable stuff they leave me no option but to buy it.

Too soon,Criterion is still hard at work populating the city and implementing many of the features.

But if i'm not wrong it will be released a little after the hd version! Do they have the time?

This game will essentially be done by the end of the month. Then they'll spend September testing it, and it will be submitted for certification/manufacturing in early October.

I believe October 30th is the release date for all versions.

I keep entering this thread, becaus I read the Thread Tittle as "NSFW - Most Wanted Vita---"

wtf is wrong with my head..?

by the way, I´m gonna enjoy NFS:MW on my sexy Vita.. ohhh yeahhh

I don't own a Vita.

I will buy this game.

I still play this.

Legendary!

This is still my favourite arcade racer to date.

Wait, I thought people didnt want the same game on their Vita as the console?

I'm in the small group that wants ALL games to be a console port...LOL

I now spend 80% of my time working in the "field" and I still want to play console games. The Vita is my only way to do that.

On subject, this sounds great. Can't wait to play it on my Vita.

What?My sentence is from the original news on IGN,so no, Criterion has a lot of work to do yet.

Great, great, great, great news. Criterion where the first to truly shine with support of the PS3 with Burnout Paradise and the post launch support. Really looking forward to their PSVita debut and if they can pull that out of the hat as mentioned... my gamer heart will be full of enjoyment.

Yeah I'm in the same boat, a lot of people hate on the whole "console experience on the go" mentality, saying console games don't belong on handhelds because of the predominant bite-sized nature of handheld games but I rarely have time at home anymore. I have a day job and then I come home to my family so naturally if I can have that awesome home console experience on the go, that means I can have it during my lunch break.

Portable Burnout Paradise just gets me so damn excited. If the game is anywhere as comparable to the console versions (which look gorgeous, they look and play just like Burnout), it's going to be a system seller. As I said before, I have faith in Criterion to give us an amazing game on both consoles and Vita. They confirmed they're doing the Vita version in house but I wonder about the iOS version? /shrug, as long as the Vita version is golden I think we'll all be happy :)

Yes, I know what the article said, but that's just how developers speak. They do have a few weeks remaining to actually work on the game's content/visuals, but large games like this go through several weeks of testing before being "done", and once you hit that testing stage you cannot change anything in the game, as that may create new bugs.

So, from today til the release date we have about 10 weeks. 3-4 of those weeks will be testing. The game will be certified "gold" about 3-4 weeks prior to the game shipping.

So how much time does that leave us for actual changes being made to the game? About 2-3 weeks most likely.

Same here. Annoying that most people can't understand our position.

The optimal portable/console balance I'm looking for is the ability to take all the games I want to take with me on my portable or pop it up on my HD 7.1 system, but also have exclusive games available that make the most use of each platform/environment. We've reached a close parity in platforms with PS3/Vita (and will get closer with coming Windows tablets and other technology, though streaming and always-online approaches will hit cellular connectivity limitations,) so if a game can be made for both platforms, we want it and we want it to be good.

Under the old way of thinking, this could crush Sony's portable market while Nintendo happily follows its traditional path of a Mario here, a Zelda here. But if Sony transcends the market (the way Apple has with iOS being platform-agnostic - if only they can get a home box market soon - and Android is going with Google TV feeding off the mobile market and Microsoft with one Windows/Xbox ecosystem) and makes the right mix of its titles cross-platform, it could get to the point where Vita is thought of less its own system than it is an option of playing a game. You don't think about where you're planning on playing your DVDs or watching your Netflix queue, you simply buy the product and play it on your TV or your laptop or whatever device. That's where the one-console dream is going, we're not going to have EVERYBODY agree on one single platform but we're at least seeing the players in the game moving towards their own platforms being part of the same game market.

The YouTube responses to the new trailer are hilarious.

fucking burnout shit. rest in peace need for speed story.

If you think this is good game and deserves name "Most Wanted", then I bet you haven't played the original Need for speed: Most Wanted...

I never personally found the 'gangster' Need for Speed games any good.

I really see no reason why we can't have both the console experiences on the move and byte size Indy games, I think the Vita is unique in that is can offer both due to it's hardware feature set, I don't see why it always has to be one or the other.
