NHL to withold Vancouver's two points, instead will award 0.5 to Ryan Miller, 0.5 to Henrik Sedin and 1.0 to Cam Talbot - thanks bud!

My feelings on tonight's win:

I wonder what would happen to the Sharks if they miss the playoffs in terms of management changes or player moves afterwards.

Wyshynski tweeting a bunch of info about the new stats stuff

read from the bottom up, too lazy to re-order

here's the full article: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-p...olutionary-new-features--stats-031047083.html

That said, there's totally going to be a paywall/subscription package when player tracking stuff comes online. Maybe bundled w/ Game Center

Greg Wyshynski @wyshynski · 3m 3 minutes ago
OK ... cost. First two phases (Feb. 20 and April) features are free. NHL says no plans for a paywall for special features (1/2)

I've seen prototype: Player tracking makes it look like NHL15. You can watch game through a puck's POV. Or find out who didn't backcheck ;)

After Phase 4, if player tracking is a go? Real-time 3-D digital recreations of NHL games.

Greg Wyshynski @wyshynski · 8m 8 minutes ago
Long-term plan? Have every goal ever scored on video in NHL history added to every player page. It's already underway.

Greg Wyshynski @wyshynski · 8m 8 minutes ago
Also in Phase 4: Videos of every goal scored since 2007 added to NHL player pages. Every goal for Patrick Kane, linked to Game Log.

Phase 4 http://NHL.com revamp (2016): Box scores of every NHL game ever get digitized, with searchable stats

Greg Wyshynski @wyshynski · 10m 10 minutes ago
Obviously Phase 3 hinges on how widespread player tracking gets, but would include real-time digital tracking of player movement in games.

Phase 3 http://NHL.com revamp (Fall 2015): Player tracking stats added + additional visualization charts.

Greg Wyshynski @wyshynski · 12m 12 minutes ago
Phase 2 will also included a playoff game/series predictor that's 85% accurate vs. last 15 yrs, uses 37 algorithms.

Greg Wyshynski @wyshynski · 14m 14 minutes ago
Phase 2 search engine can tell you how many times a 6-foot Latvian C has scored game-tying goal in 2nd on Tues. It's incredible.

Phase 2 http://NHL.com revamp (April): Visualization charts for stat comparisons, sick new stat search engine

Phase 1 http://NHL.com revamp adds secondary assists, possession stats, slew of 'enhanced stats"
