NHL February 2015 |OT| The next Maple Leafs goal will be scored by Connor McDavid

Or he keeps being useless.
Is that really a problem considering what they gave up? They would go from paying someone who's likely to never play again to paying someone who can play that they can waive if they really want to.

I'm not saying this is an incredible deal or anything, just that it's not as hilariously stupid as many are making it out to be.

War on Ice needs to improve their captools. It's kind of garbage as is unless you just want to look at one player at a time, slowly.

It's not hilariously stupid at all. Considering CBJ's position, it makes sense for them. I don't think Clarkson will ever be more than a 3rd/4th tweener (in Toronto he played more like replacement level) but maybe the change of scenery will do him some good.

Quick is there a larger version of your avatar somewhere? It's tripping me out big time

I actually don't, but I ended up redoing it, and I think this new one looks a lot better...

Where we are with the cap and the rebuild it is only a positive for us. Horton at least gives us an option. If he comes back and plays like he can then we can trade him. If he plays like shit we can waive or better to buy him out for a smaller hit than Clarkson. If he never comes back we effectively got rid of the worst contract on NHL history.

Edit: I can't think of a negative from the Leafs side in this.

Correction: only ways this day gets better are if Philly wins in regulation and the Yotes win.

I think the Rongos will come back tho :(

Mike Smith is also playing out of his fucking mind tonight so far. He had yet another great save right as time expired (though I think it probably wouldn't have counted).

No Leafs fan is saying its a ridiculous trade, we're just happy he's gone and can't believe it actually happened.

That would have been a pretty awesome goal from Tropp.

The puck was sitting on top of the net, Tropp was on his ass in the crease, he hit the puck off the net from below, then batted it in. Whistle had blown though.

If Stempniak didn't get a piece of that, it's John Moore's first goal of the season!

EDIT: Nope, it's announced as Stempniak. Better luck next time, Johnny.
