Ni No Kuni Collector's Edition for EU/NA [failure level well beyond critical mass]

Probably those that got the 20$ off coupon and link were those that pre-ordered in September and not the 17th

That would make some sense, they are trying to make up to those that ordered first

Now of course that does not mean that they should do nothing for those that ordered in 17th

Also is not fair for those that did not use that coupon/link because did not know

I am reordered for my canceled (8/2/2012) order.

DigitalRiver claims that everyone who ordered last night will be cancelled, but apparently that is not the case judging by this thread.

I ordered on the 17th the second their order page opened, and they canceled + sent me the $20 offer, so its not just for 2012 customers

It got really confusing, i will lay down a bit because i cant handle all that excitement :)

Seems like the ultimate showcase of chaos theory

What? What does that have to do with this? And what 'disaster'?

The disaster of Ni no Kuni DS never making to US of course and me missing the 2D environment art that is not present in the PS3 version

For a 2D graphics lover like me, that is frustration level 5000

Bravely Default is frustraton level 5.000.000 though :)

I got my shipping confirmation but I am subscribe to this thread and will continue to check. I care what happens even if it does not directly affect me.

Same here. I wish there was a way to make them give a damn. The way they handle their business is archaic and unacceptable now a days.

Ni No Kuni DS sounded pretty mediocre and I knew requiring that book with every copy when retailers were getting edgy about stocking bulky SKUs was likely dooming it. Nevermind when the companies that DO care want to get this out in Europe...

Any Bravely Default is honestly too early to call on. I'd wait at least until around E3, if we hear nothing by then it's going to take an Operation Rainfall-esque miracle to get it still.

Just got the shipping confirmation on the order I placed last night at 2 am and used my $20 coupon on.

........................

They really don't give a fuck. I mean we knew, but now was just shoved in the face of those who lost their orders.

I think it's BB time.

love the OT update :)
Hah. The first post should have that rendition of digital river done in ms paint.

So is there anyone left who hasn't gotten a confirmation or cancellation and is just waiting in silence like me? I feel like I should call them... Anyone have the right number on hand?

I'm not waiting in silence, I called and have been complaining to as many people as I can.

Number to call is still: 952 392 2057

I don't really see the need to do a full reprint for more than the orders they haven't fulfilled, but it'd be great if they'd at least print my physical copies of the book. Like I said, I don't intend to play the game ever unless I get that.

Woooo! get home from work and a shipping confirmation email is waiting for me... too bad I opened up my regular copy. I guess Ill keep this sealed.

They are not answering to email now. I have 2 mails for my orders one was "escalated further" ant second one about current order. This was long 4 days and zero replies.

DS version was ok. But not some amazing gem. Don't really miss it. The battle system on ps3 is better.

I am a sucker for 2D art myself, so amazing or not would love to see the 2D environments on my 3DS

I was actually about to order the DS version from Amazon before the PS3 WE went back to sale in 17th and went for the 120$ pack

Now i can resume buying the DS one i guess

I been shown this thread and wow oh wow. Mine's is on route. It has a tracking number and everything. I believe mine's had no hassle because I pre-ordered at the Namco booth at San Diego Comic Con last year. So I should be getting it between tomorrow and the 30th.

Bleh - now some of you know how I feel - I ordered the game back in September, 3 days before they shut it down, using PayPal to pay since I wanted them to take the money immediately. A week later, I got an email from them telling me that PayPal never gave them the money, so they were canceling my order. And nothing I did would make them fix my order.

Thanks again for the number. They are utterly useless. I've asked to speak with a supervisor, still on hold. I'm betting it will be awhile.

I called Namco support line, the dude there was super polite and awesome. He offered to take down my information and forward it along so that I could get a call back. I guess they are dealing with a bunch of upset people right now as well.

Believe me, I don't think Ni no Kuni DS would have a chance here if it had the book. Maybe they could cheapen it by printing it on instruction manual-ish paper but eh.... That thing takes up a -ton- of space on retail shelves. I think just one copy is about as big as the Move's Wonderbook packaging?

Then they should just release a 3DS version with the book in digital form, like the PS3 one

Yeah, same. :/

I'm amazed at how big that book is on the PS3, but they could probably work something out on 3DS as they were probably just being reckless about memory usage, making NO attempts at compression. Honestly it'd probably be better to make some sort of middle ground between PS3 and DS on Wii U, but it seems the PS3 game was already pretty close to the DS game anyway.

Just got off the phone with a Namco Bandai support guy. Was very kind and helpful as others have reported. All the information he could give me was that the order was still being processed and that I would be receiving an email once it has shipped.

This, of course, has comforted me in no way.

Honestly, I don't think they'll ever port anything (does Level-5 ever do that?). The only thing they would probably do is a sequel and also make it available for other systems.

I got a cancellation email to my spam folder, but the transaction is still pending. Anybody else with the same problem? I dont know if it means its cancelled or not.

Mine's the same, I'm just hoping it'll eventually drop off. From what I've read here, it's most likely cancelled (there's nothing on UPS tracking) and if so I'd like my funds back!

Can someone state the full details of what happened in this epic fail tale? I got some scattered details but would like someone to put it in narrative form

once upon a time, namco and digital river skipped their arithmetic classes when they were in kindergarten.

fast-forward 50 years later and they never recovered.

the end.
