"Comparison between NINJA GAIDEN 2 and other entries in the series

Graphics
The game uses Unreal Engine 5 to significantly refine the graphics.

Balance Adjustment
Combat balance such as damage and enemy placements has been adjusted from previous entries in the series.
Bosses like the "Giant Buddha Statue: Hatensoku" and the "The Statue of Liberty" do not appear in this title.

Online Features
Online features such as ranking and co-op play, which were included in NINJA GAIDEN 2 and NINJA GAIDEN Σ2, are not available in this title.

The "NINJA RACE" Mode
The "NINJA RACE Mode," featured in NINJA GAIDEN Σ2 PLUS, is not included in this title.

Gore
Blood and dismemberment effects in this title are based on NINJA GAIDEN 2.
However, you can switch the settings to match the effects in NINJA GAIDEN Σ2 via the options menu."

Apparently, it's something in-between NG2 and Sigma2 ? If true, I'm wouldn't necessarily have a problem with that.

Can someone test this ? On mentor, during the 1st hallway (immediately after the intro) there's some rocket launcher enemies IIRC, are they present in this version ?

So if the liberty statue and Buddha is not there, what is Ultimate Nninja mission 3?

PRO ENHANCED BABY.

Ok quick question. I never played the Ninja Gaiden games. What are they like? I always knew people said they were HARD so I skipped them but I'm also a huge fan of Dark Souls, Nioh, and all of the Soulslikes. Will I like this?

For anyone who's playing, I know it's a long shot but is there an English VA and is Justin Gross doing the English VA for Ryu again? I kind of miss the different tone he brought to the character including his combat sounds.

I paid good money for this Dynex!
Other than the graphics and some art style changes: Black 2 Remaster has lots of blood, no purple effect, the camera is a little better and on normal it seems to be easier than Sigma 2. Other than that, apparently, is the same thing.

I will probably finish it thanks to gamepass and I will buy it during a sale for less than 10 usd.

Easier than Sigma? Wtf?

I was mega excited about this when I saw the announcement, but between the gameplay hueing closer to Sigma 2 and it being on Unreal 5, I get the sense that I'm better off sticking with the original. Can't have shit anymore, mayng.

ok, I wouldn't recommend the 120fps mode. at least on Xbox it looks horrendously bad if you turn that on.

since it's UE5, it sadly also has the typical ugliness associated with that dog shit engine. but in the 60fps mode it looks ok
How is the input and frame rate on 60fps?

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

Rare to see a UE5 game support 120hz out of the box.

But I'm probably gonna stick to 60fps here.

Let’s use master Ninja as the litmus test to see if it’s easier

Will wait to see more info.
Sigma enemy counts is disappointing if true.
Also being a 60fps game on UE5 on console I asume it will look like shit.

Actually I didn't see any Unreal logo in the NG4 trailer or key art. Please tell me it's using another engine.

I played just a little bit, but it felt like the life regen after finishing the enemy waves was bigger on the new one. Also, the enemies that I fought felt like they had less life and attacked less times than on Sigma.

I just played the first chapter on both and Sigma 2 just felt more challenging. I hope I am wrong.

Mentor or normal?

How is the input and frame rate on 60fps?

frame rate seems stable (I play at 120hz VRR on Xbox, so noticing small drops is basically impossible)

input lag feels like it's below 90ms for sure, so decent.
at 120fps it feels like less than 50ms however, so clearly more responsive.

this is all from subjective impressions of course.
the 120fps mode is truly ugly however. looks literally worse (SUBSTANTIALLY WORSE) than the og Xbox 360 version at OG resolution.
it sadly uses Lumen, and Lumen is just cancer at low resolutions, and even just trash at higher ones tbh.

Goddamnit man what the fuck is this fucking bullshit. I just started it up, the first fight, there's only three dudes (on the hardest difficulty!!!), and they have these lame ass green eyes and GUNS???

WHERE THE FUCK IS THE SPIDER CLAN?

Are they really giving us this Ninja Dog version AGAIN???

Cmon man

I am so dissapointed right now!!

We need someone to reach Master Ninja and see how many enemies.

Also, can someone please check team missions? Need to know the missions for master and ultimate ninja

What is the best Xenia Canary build for NGII?

I get it but since this is new Team Ninja, I’m not sure how difficult or how many enemies on screen for Master Ninja. Heck, maybe team missions may be the true litmus test on difficulty

So NG2 remains the definitive version it seems...

What’s the word on the ps5 pro version?

Debating that or the PC. I’m on a 3080 so I doubt I can run it max 4K 60fps.

So far, this feels very in line with NG2 vanilla thus far. Ryu is responsive and smooth, as are my inputs, and I don’t sense any ghost inputs nor bad differences in timing. Despite being UE5, the game also runs very well on Series X (will test PC performance this weekend), which falls in line with UE never really being the issue for bad game performance; it’s just an engine/tool.

So far so really damn good! Visually… Good lord is this game a looker, stunning actually. I wanted a proper current gen NG for years, and this is it.
