Switch 2 joysticks are estimated to be +~20% bigger diameter and they protrude more than Switch 1.

In their patent the interesting thing is that there's nothing mechanical about it, entirely electromagnetic. Thus also has the neat effect of being hall effect joystick and gone is the drifting.
Purely electromagnetic would be great as there is nothing you would break but I wonder how strong the resistance effect would be given the size of the controller.

rumor is that some switch 1 announcements will be made this week most likely by way of x and youtube video drops.

Metroid Prime 2 remaster?

Maybe Gamefreak can start their redemption path with a Ultra Scarlet and Ultra Violet?

Mario 2D collection?

Curious to see two things, on top of the games :
- what new offerings will be brought to the NSO (hoping for pretty much all SEGA 8 and 16 bits consoles and add-ons) as well as improved compatibility for the NSO controllers (being able to configure the buttons, basically)
- if there will be support for patches on current Switch games to get better framerate and resolution is developers are willing to put the effort. Many recent releases could benefit from this and help publishers get a surge in sales while they make their next game
GameCube on NSO is quite likely I think
my bet is still on a focus on more Singleplayer content.
and I could totally see them doing an open world campaign mode, or at least multiple hub-worlds that are decently large and have missions like races, time attacks, and other challenges.

the teaser in the Switch 2 reveal, with the scale show, seems to tease this imo.
They need to go Diddy Kong Racing style with the single player content
rumor is that some switch 1 announcements will be made this week most likely by way of x and youtube video drops.
They need to do something, right now they have no games with a firm date and I'd be very surprised if Nintendi doesn't have any games in April or May.

We are now 9 days away. Hype is building.

I'm looking forward to see what MK9 is all about.

MK8 on the Switch is the ultimate MK game. Including DLC, it has 96 tracks. Even the base game has 48 tracks. Not to mention the pitch perfect gameplay. MK9 will need to be extra special to make it more appealing than it's predecessor.

Really hope they don’t drop the antigravity sections from Mario Kart 8, I loved that addition.

Well if this Thursday is true…maybe we see….

Dragon Quest 1&2 HD
Tony Hawk
DK 64 Remake
Fire Emblem
Kirby
Star Wars Squadrons
PvZ Collection
Mario 2d original collection HD2D

Most of that list is realistic for some late stage Switch 1 games.

Wasn't there a rumour of Nintendo making a new 3D DK game for the Switch 2, or did I just dream that? I think it's about time DK got some real love. The last two DK games on the Switch have been a re-release and remaster. Time for a brand new DK game, but as a 3D platformer.

No, you didn’t dream it. There is a rumor about some new DK. Unknown what it is, of course. Could be:
a new 2d,
a new original arcade DK (Which would be cool),
Mario and DK 3D sequel to Odyssey,
a separate DK adventure,
and finally a Deluxe remake of DK 64 (why it is not on NSO).

So, in all honesty, the rumors about DK has run the whole range over the last 8+ years! Hopefully, though we see something new soon!

Edit: IMO, I think Arcade, a HD Remake of the original DK Country trilogy or a Mario 3d World style game starring the Kongs would be cool.

THE SAVIOR OF VIDEO GAMING.

PRAISE THE LAWD!

Preach, Brother!

8 days now until the Nintendo Gods bless us with new hardware.

As well as a Mario tease, will we also see something from Zelda? I'm not expecting a new Zelda game for some time as Nintendo take their time to cook greatness (take note Gamefreak), but maybe a sneak peak at a potential OOT remake for next year?

I need a Switch now for Pokemon Go, but i am trying to resist.

Was going to buy used/refurbished, but i am trying to hold for Switch 2.

Thing is that i need it now, but i cant afford a Switch now and a Switch 2 in 2/3 months.

Do you guys think the Switch 2 will be hard to get at launch? Or will the fact that they’re using old technology mean that they’ll have tons?

I remember just casually strolling to the store and grabbing my OLED switch when it came out…

If this Direct was Nintendo saying "here's what our players have to look forward to in the future" it would be poor, but it wasn't that. The Switch 2 show next week is that.

This was just reassurance for Switch 1 owners who won't be upgrading right away that they'll still have stuff to play, and for the rest of us, some content to kill the time while we wait to get our hands on Switch 2. In that respect, it was solid.

Surprised we haven’t heard anything substantial about the software lineup.

I remember pretty much the entire Switch (1) lineup getting leaked before the event.

Maybe they’ll be able to keep the surprises behind closed doors this time. They’ve been pretty good at that recently. Don’t really recall anyone leaking/predicting that Rhythm Heaven or Tomodachi Life would appear in the most recent direct.

"Old technology" doesn't make sense here. The design might be old, but you still need to manufacture the device. The 2015 old Switch is still being made in factories today.

They might have already produced millions already though, but I believe it will be a bit hard to get (as every new console)

Last time it was an in-person event. I believe the leak came from someone setting up the booths for it.
Why not do it on April 1st, though? 🤔
It's not a Wednesday, so they wouldn't be able to announce the acquisition of Sega.

Do we know the type of event its going to be, more like a direct not a live event like last time?
It’s labeled as a Nintendo Direct, so I’d assume that’ll be the format.

For comparison the Switch (1) event was never announced as being a Nintendo Direct, it was labeled as a ”Nintendo Switch Presentation”.

And as Woopah Woopah mentioned above the reason we’ve had zero leaks about what this presentation contains is likely because Nintendo themselves have full control of the format without reliance on anyone else this time.
