Nintendo Direct Today - 31st July 2025 (6am PT // 9am ET // 2pm UK)

Wishlist:
- Hades 2 release date;
- Hyrule Warriors AOI release date (yes it's third party);
- Monster Hunter Rise Ultimate;
- Ys X Proud Nordics release date (outside of Japan);

Expectation:
- a ton of "Switch 2 editions" patches available for random upgrade prices;
- Daemon X Machina.

The 25 minutes part is what's disappointing me more than it not being a general direct. Hopefully they don't spend too much time on each game and then 3rd party themselves will put out full trailers of said games announced.

Also, Metroid Prime 4 delay?

I don't think so. Especially considering it's a cross gen Switch title.

so a leaker is saying red dead 2 with a nexgen update , 4k 60 fps.

Forza H 5
Oblivion remastered
red dead redemption 2

added to my list of probably announcements.

This partner showcase is necessary… To shut up some folks.

It's a 25-minute event, and Switch 1 games will also be announced, but do you really believe that a vast majority of major third-party titles—like Resident Evil 9, Monster Hunter Wilds, Beast of Reincarnation, Indiana Jones, and others—will be revealed?

I can see things like Persona 5/3 Reload, Lies of P, Clair Obscur, and some other AA/indie/last gen games being announced, but I stand by what I said before: most big AAA games will continue to skip Nintendo's console.

I'll be happy if any of these games show up

MGS Delta
RE4/RE2 Remake
RDR2
Xbox Anything
Hi-fi Rush
Persona 3 Reload
Metaphor Re:Fantazio
Silksong (only if release date is also announced)

Skipping games we already know about:
  • Sea of Thevies
  • Call of Duty BO7
  • Forza Horizon 5
  • Baldur's Gate 3
  • Momotaro Dentetsu 25
  • Yakuza: Like a Pirate
  • Metaphor ReFantasio
  • Resident Evil 4
  • College Football 26
  • Final Fantasy 16
  • Dragon Quest 12
  • Kingdom Hearts Bundle

25 minute Direct means 20-30 games shown

PS4 gen ports are guaranteed, but the real question of third party support are:

1. How many PS5 gen ports get shown
2. How many new, upcoming games get shown/announced for Switch 2?

For it to be a good Direct I think we need at least 7 of each.

This feels like it's going to have some substantial reveals. Been waiting to see what all the hubbub was about with Elden Ring. Can't wait to have some more legit uncompromised 3rd party experiences.
