Nintendo Downloads - April 2015

Will be picking up Psyscrolr and the AVGN game today.

Might also consider Citizens of Earth on discount. The only reason I haven't bought it yet is because of that damn file size.

I disagree. The Galaxy games are bottom-tier Mario games for me as well.

To quote a ranking I did in another topic a bit ago, for the 3D games:
64 >>> 3D World >> 3D Land >>>>>>>>>> Sunshine >>> Galaxy 2 > Galaxy 1

(Yes, I know I just said Sunshine was the worst above :þ)

Terrisus noooooo

Though I'll admit the 3D games are fantastic.

Playing 64 on a DS has made me reconsider ever calling that game an objectively "best" Mario platformer.

The 3D series does everything so much better than what 64 did.

Oh man AVGN is finally coming out? Been waiting so long to play it lol, but as it looks like US only so far I guess I'll be waiting longer still. :(

Yup. This post is in honor of PixyJunket. :p

Gives all the fucks
Well, this is interesting. So if you have Box Boy, you can send a demo to a 3DS that's nearby. That's cool & all, but I don't get why couldn't just have an eShop demo for everyone....then again, Nintendo LOVES limited demos....

Also, on top of being able to buy costumes, you can also buy music, challenges (time & score attacks), and Tips & Tricks with the medals you get.

So the AVGN Miiverse community seems like a total moderating minefield. And yet nothing's been done. Won't someone think of the children?

I need french translations guys

If it's just the eShop page I'd offer a free copy of the game in exchange for translating a page of English text in the Canadian deals thread. There are several fluently bilingual guys posting there.

Can't believe I am the only one hype for Gunvolt on EU eShop...and not being able to make a thread about it :V

Not surprised in the least.

It's interesting, I remember when moderating on Nintendo's NSider forums, we would regularly have to remove links to his material that people posted thinking they were "funny" or whatever, due to the vulgar language that he uses.

And now a game featuring him is coming to a Nintendo system.

Quite bizarre.

Not my responsibility anymore, though :þ

Though 'vulgar, the game is actually quite good!

The port is REALLY well done too. Even if this isn't your cup of tea, it should give you some confidence in Heart Forth, Alicia and A.N.N.E since MP2 is handling the Wii U versions of those as well.

So music update on the 3DS eShop in Europe. Colony 9 field from Xenoblade.

There is a V1.1 patch for Xenoblade (size 35 blocks). Now the main game you can't purchase on a normal 3DS (the purchase is greyed out saying "Only for New Nintendo 3DS") but the patch can be downloaded (no matter how useless it seems), however it does error out with 007-6070 which according to NOA is "An error occurred while attempting to connect to the Nintendo eShop. Please try again later."

Might get BoxBoy, although I heard the puzzles don't really get challenging.

Freedom Planet as well, IIRC.

Oh it's awesome.

Took a 720p shot via the browser so people can see how nice N64 games look. So crisp, so clean, and man, that cap's wing has never looked this good before.

Oh wait, I just remembered that I forgot to listen to that Natsume interview from yesterday.
Doing that now!

Listened to the section of the Natsume interview.

First: Thanks for putting the interview together, making it happen, and asking the questions and everything.

That said: Nothing against you at all, so please don't take it that way, but... man, do I hate listening to interviews. Pre-recorded scripted stuff like the Nintendo Directs are alright... And lectures and such where it's all pretty much planned beforehand and such... But, geeze, interviews or just people talking on a recording are always so painful for me to listen to >.>

Anyway, I listened from like 18:00-27:00, not particularly encouraged for anything Lufia-related =( Anything that I missed later? Still hoping for a transcript at some point.

Nothing was said against Lufia but the not so subtle hint between the lines is Natsume is more interested in the newer sections of the Virtual Console so while it is not specifically out of the picture I can't say I am too hopeful about seeing it anytime soon.

Also, sadly I can safely say that there will be no transcription as done by us, nobody on staff has the time to put this very long interview to the written word I am afraid. If somebody else wants to do it, then that is their pursuit.

I think it looks like total shit (on the gamepad at least), but man does it still play well.

Oh yes, thinking about it, there was another clue dropped by Graham about Lufia II and why it probably not coming. I recall he mentioned on of the VC criteria was if the code was usable in all territories and Natsume never published this game in Europe. Granted that might not make too much of a difference in most cases but this is an RPG we are talking about.

But Nintendo published it ...so what's the problem? That didn't stop Secret of Mana (also published by Nintendo for the SNES in Europe) from hitting Wii VC for example.
