Nintendo E3 2015 Event Schedule

Nintendo needs to announce Metroid Prime 4 or do a panic mode Zelda U trailer for tomorrow... It's the only thing I'm going to say. Honestly what Sony has announced so far ...WOW!

Nintendo won't have any megatons, and that's perfectly fine. They did great the past few years, they don't need to steal the spotlight from Sony. There's nothing beyond Zelda and a remake of Pokemon Blue/Red in HD that could possibly please all of you.

They can't. But they can still have a solid conference. This is the stuff of legends. Holy cow.

Boo. What's with this defeatist stuff? Not to mention the whole concept is silly knowing that not every game appeals to every gamer. I've never played Shenmue and I imagine a lot of Nintendo fans haven't either, though I'm happy for the people who wanted it.

It's less that and more that it's gonna harder to impress viewers after Sony's one-two Guardian-Shenmue punch.

I find it kind of weird that showing TLG is considered impressive when it was announced with a gameplay trailer several years ago. I mean I get it, and I'm excited for it, but it's sort of a, "Thank god TLG didn't end up a complete disaster and get canceled" rather than wow what a job by Sony.

Nintendo plays things on its own tune, for the betterment and detriment of the company. I do think the Treehouse will help it but I feel that the Digital Event will be "poorer" than the Sony one. It's still good for me because I was waiting for Sony to step it up.

I don't mind that this year's Nintendo presentation will likely be more subdued. I'm not sure if my heart can handle any more megaton announcement anyway.

Although, if they announce a localization of the new Ace Attorney game, I may end up in hospital...

I'm going to lower my expectations low for Nintendo's E3 presentation, but I hope they keep it quirky and have a few pleasant surprises even if their not megatons. They still have more than a handful of games coming out for Wii U this year, all of which we currently know about and have seen gameplay of. Quite frankly, it's pretty much just Fire Emblem SMT (which appears to only be coming out in Japan this year) that we don't know enough about yet. Then there's the fact that Nintendo said its only covering games for up to early 2016, so that's going to seemingly limit their potential for new game releases. They may not show Retro's next tile and for all we know, it may not even be in a state ready to be shown off anyway. 3DS sure needs to be shown some love since it was largely neglected last year's E3 and hasn't had a strong 1st party software lineup since 2013. I'm still looking forward to Nintendo's conference the most though.

I'm just hoping Nintendo announce more remastered games. I can't believe we only have Wind Waker HD on Wii U.

LM + LM2 HD remaster! How cool would that be?

That was in January, back when Zelda was suppose to come out this year, so plans change, Super Mario Maker is probably the big holiday game now

I would be very surprised if it were the big holiday game given it was already delayed to September and is the anniversary month.

I'm fine with Star Fox and Mario Maker being the big games for the end of 2015, but I want a big surprise tomorrow. Extensive Star Fox insight will be interesting but we've seen so much of Maker that, as good as it looks, I don't want it to eat up Digital Event time tomorrow. It's a Mario themed level creator, I get it Nintendo, you have my money. Now show me something new.

That Animal Crossing home design game? Guessing that heads west at some point.

I think the AC home design game is designed around those cards. So the Amiibo seem like they might be for the recently heavily-hinted at Wii U AC game.

(And like you I want several surprises tomorrow :D)

Maybe it's unlikely due to EarthBound Beginnings, but I'm hoping for one cool "available now" thing tomorrow for Virtual Console. There's gotta be at least a couple of new N64/GCN/Wii titles that they can unveil.

Hoping for Yoshi's Story in preparation for YWW. :)

I am really nervous about Star Fox. I've been waiting for this for years.

I truly hope it lives up to the hype for you, Volotaire!

No way! I'm really really really really excited. They showed off Mario maker more yesterday, which I've been looking forward to since last year and it looks better than ever, animal crossing amiibo were leaked (WHAT COULD THEY BE FOR!?) and hyrule warriors 3ds is the only thing that's leaked.

They got lots of not-e3 worthy stuff out of the way recently, and dropped some bombs yesterday so I honestly have no idea what to expect and since I'm currently sitting here in love with Splatoon I've got crazy-high hopes!

I'm not being facetious I'm just excited that the only game leaked is something I don't care about, the amiibo that leaked imply another entry into animal crossing (a favorite series of mine that I prefer playing on a home console) and we're guareteed to see a lot of star fox: another favorite series of mine that hasn't seen an entry I've been a fan of since the n64.

*also* earthbound beginnings existing makes earthbound 2 being announced believable for the first time and hell if they're dropping old-game bombs we could even maybe see star fox 2!

I'm so ready for 9:40am central time because boy will I be watching

Oh lol I totally misread your post. I was like how can Nago the Cat have such a facetious take on E3?! And I was surprised since I know you're a fellow optimistic Nintenfan usually. But yeah, just totally misread your post. Thought you were listing stuff you considered to have already been revealed, not listing stuff that you were hoping and expecting to be excited to see! :) My mistake, sorry man. I'll be SUPER psyched to watch as soon as I have time at the end of the day--better send myself the spoiler-free thread link now before I forget!!

Enjoy watching the show all!!

That was an epic conference by Sony. This Nintendo Direct needs to deliver in a big way.

Lol, i love Nintendo and all but i dont think they are prepared to compete against Last Guardian + FF7. And Horizon is... wow, mind blowing graphics and looks fun for once.

They would need really big heavy hitters to switch attention to them. Not even a new metroid.

That depends on whether you actually care about either of those games

Not just those but FF7r. There's no doubt a lot of trending buzz is going to go to Sony due to those three reveals. I'm sure Star Fox and the rumored ACU will be pretty cool but I've never seen Sony bring it like that before Nintendo's conference. Ever.

Best of luck Nintendo. I don't think they can top Sony now, not after those megatons, and here I was thinking this was going to be a lousy E3. Even Microsoft had a good presser imo.

Nintendo could totally deliver if they announced things for 2017+ too. Yes Sony's conference was awesome but Shenmue isn't even in development yet, and we all know SE's track record with releasing Final Fantasies. Also The Last Guardian should've been released years ago.

But yeah I'm not expecting NIntendo to drop as many bombs as Sony.

Nintendo doesn't need to do anything to win E3, they already had Mario Maker /s

Nintendo can still win, all they need is:

Star Fox U
Zelda U
Metroid Prime 4
Diddy Kong Racing 2
Animal Crossing U
Paper Mario U
F-Zero UX
Gamepad Plus
Amiibo MOBA
Mother 4 Kickstarter
Pokemon MMO
Half-Life 3

Believe.

It probably won't. Not that their previous Directs were terrible but they weren't necessarily mind blowing either. I expect this one to be pretty tame.

"Fuck it. We bought Half-Life 3 exclusivity."

Naw, with Nintendo admitting Zelda is a no show and much of their lineup already announced I'm not expecting megatons, at least not the FFVII-R and TLG kind lol. Even Metroid Prime 4 and F-Zero in the same conference wouldn't match that.

There's basically no way to beat Sony's conference, at least in terms of megatons. It's just not feasible.

I'm just hoping for Metroid.

Something that doesn't exist, remake and something that should have been out on PS3 five years ago.

How indeed.

Good points, considering that none of those is making go me out and buy a PS4...I appreciate that Nintendo has more or less gone its own way, and the conference doesn't need to "top" Sony's to be awesome. Besides, let's not forget what helped make Nintendo's show last year awesome: Treehouse.

It's not like Nintendo needs to sell me on a Wii U--I already have one. What I hope to see is badass stuff that gets me hyped and, you know, kills my wallet. It's about the games, not the spectacles. :D

Actually, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3 would give Nintendo the automatic win.

All Nintendo needs to do is announce Super Mario Galaxy 3/Super Mario Sunshine Remake playable this year and they'll win E3 for me.

Sony does not change what Nintendo needed to do for this event tomorrow they are so far behind they needed a great showing regardless to stay alive enough until new hardware

I have a PS4 and none of those great first party games come out this year
I wonder if the NX will get any late Star Wars love? It is like Nintendo is not a player

to be honest guys Zelda U vs that Horizon vs TLG

you just got to love Nintendo but be honest those art styles kicked a lot of ass

well objectively Sonys conference was just great that it confirmed these games existed. TLG looked nearly identical to a few years ago, was actually not that impressive imo. FF7 is only timed exclusive and Shenmue also on PC. It was great fan service, but in the grand picture it doesn't help selling more PS4 (the COD announcement is more for that), but they have this gen on a lock imo, so they don't need to make the console desperately more attractive.

Horizon on the other hand was awesome. And many exclusive content deals were also very good.

Nintendo has the (dis)advantage, that every game they show is propably a true exclusive (outside of indies). They still have a chance to win E3. But propably Sony will win in the media and for most people. I mean, Splatoon came our of nowhere last year and is inkredible.

PS: I have never played Ico, SOC, FF7 or any Shenmue game, so maybe I just don't feel the hype. But I also own a PS4, although I would call myself a Nintendo fanboy ;-)

Nintendo has no chance to capture consumers that aren't already invested in what they are doing this Winter.

If anyone is even remotely interested in any third party game and goes to buy a system, WiiU is out cold.

I expect them to continue to double down on Nintendo fans and hit some serious nostalgia pulls tomorrow to compete.

That being said, I'm hyped.

I using an average Gaffer as a metric measure. Of course people enjoy different games and therefore some may not understand the trio's appeal. And different people will enjoy different conferences , etc, etc.

Nintendo will continue to give Nintendo fans (the majority of them ) what they want to see. And that is solid Nintendo content. Outside of that, they won't be convincing many other users with other games. And that has been the trend for years. Nintendo produce the Digital Event which is aimed at Nintendo fans/consumers. The concept of the Digital Event excludes a large proportion of non- Nintendo given the appeal of the recoreded video.

Guys, If Nintendo has a good showing, this could be the E3 of the forever. Even without Zelda.

The conference was very similar to Nintendo Direct of January 2013.

At that Direct we heard about Mario, Smash, Kart, Wind Waker HD, Yoshi and Xenoblade. There was extreme excitement/hype for the health of the Wii U, but the entirely of 2013 was essentially nothing.

"Winning" is silly, but if Nintendo can give firm dates to titles for the next 6 months to holiday/early 2016, surely that's what we want to hear. Especially when keeping in mind they are working on the NX.

Sony announced two new games (Horizon, which looked fantastic, and the morpheus title) and Mario Paint 2015 (which is a great idea, but its more of a movie maker than a game). It amazes me how far nostalgia will go until we realize that this conference brought only two new titles with no dates... and I guess World of FF.

Nintendo may as well just make shit up for 2017+ with cinematic trailers and call it a day, apparently. Bring on Itoi and have him mention Mother 4 and put it on kickstarter while you're at it.

Nintendo needs to announce a game that isn't coming out for several years, isn't even funded yet, and isn't exclusive, show a trailer for a game that was announced years ago and was completly ignored and another video of a remake of a game that's not exclusive at all.

I'm sure they'll manage

Why does anyone care who "wins" E3? I see it as a group effort by all companies to make the biggest impact on consumers. So far, all of them have been doing a fantastic job. I expect Nintendo to keep the hype rolling.

I said that in response to the sentiment that there was generally low hype around Nintendo this year. And then I was met with people saying "Nah, Nintendo dominates E3 with this format" and "The NWC already has the buzz of Final Fantasy and The Last Guardian." I'm just saying Sony proved them wrong and they overestimated Nintendo's hype and underestimated Sony's.
