That's quite frankly awful. Some people are hoping GTA6 on this thing, well prepare for some insane cutbacks if rockstar ever tried it.
The vast majority of people is not buying a Switch 2 for GTA6 in any case.

If all they could squeeze out of it is 540p upscaled to 1080p using DLSS, would Switch 2 owners complain? Nope. Only non-Switch 2 owners would tell us that's not how it's supposed to be played as we happily play it in their faces. Just saying. The vast majority of people is not buying a Switch 2 for GTA6 in any case.
I'm not even planning to buy GTA6 on my PS5 let alone on Switch 2.The vast majority of people is not buying a Switch 2 for GTA6 in any case.

I used to like GTA games back in PS2 but later games it just not fun, the mission designs suck and just not fun control your character. Why not? It looks fun!
You may well be right, but for all the wrong reasons. It won't fail to beat OG Switch due to being hampered by PC handhelds. It'll fail because OG Switch is the highest selling system ever and that's a tall order to beat.Getting laughed at but i'm just saying... switch 2 will not beat og switch in terms of sales.
Even if theoretically could run GTA6(it cannot) Rockstar has no interest to do it. If they didn't port GTA5 to the Switch there's no way they will port GTA6 to Switch 2.That's quite frankly awful. Take Two is a publicly traded company, and shareholders can see how well the Switch 2 is doing.Even if theoretically could run GTA6(it cannot) Rockstar has no interest to do it. If they didn't port GTA5 to the Switch there's no way they will port GTA6 to Switch 2.
Not actually, they can sell to new people too, Nintendo had that much wide appealYou can easily "slaughter the opposition" for a couple of years with sales to hardcore fans.
But the Switch 1 had a lot of ppl who only cared to buy because they were trapped inside during COVID and may never come back, a lot of families that can't tell the difference between MK8 and MKW. Those consumers are the guys you will have to convince to shift to Switch 2 in years 3 and on.
virtos ported la niore to switch mmaaaaaayybe theys knows something we dontThat's quite frankly awful. Some people are hoping GTA6 on this thing, well prepare for some insane cutbacks if rockstar ever tried it.

So why didn't they buy Xbox or PS during that time? why buy the mobile device that actually allows you to go outside and play it?But the Switch 1 had a lot of ppl who only cared to buy because they were trapped inside during COVID and may never come back, a lot of families that can't tell the difference between MK8 and MKW. There is no competition in the handheld space for Nintendo unless it ports its games to other handhelds. No chance it surpasses the Switch. Way too much competition in the handheld space now, so it ain't happening.
Yea, Steam Deck. But steam deck isn't the only handheld eroding Switch 2 sales, all the other handheld are, and will for the next 8+ years while the switch 2 is on sale. There is no competition in the handheld space for Nintendo unless it ports its games to other handhelds.
This is wishful thinking. Even SteamDeck couldn't get pass 5m.

Do they have Nintendo games on them? no? ok.Yea, Steam Deck. But steam deck isn't the only handheld eroding Switch 2 sales, all the other handheld are, and will for the next 8+ years while the switch 2 is on sale.

"Switch 2 too expensive no mass market price so people won't but it, also other handhelds that cost double and have no Nintendo games are competition and stealing its sales".Yea, Steam Deck. I don't think you're getting it. Switch 2 is gonna sell millions BECAUSE OF NINTENDO GAMES. That doesn't mean that it will sell over 152M system. If the Switch 2 was the only handheld on the market, there would be a chance, but there's too many options, and you need to be less delusional thinking that everyone on a handheld gives a shit about 1-2 nintendo exclusives per year. The Deck 2 will most certainly be released in the next two years, and have much better specs than anything Switch 2, so unless you must play those Nintendo titles, the Deck 2 will be an easy choice over the Switch 2.Do they have Nintendo games on them? no? ok.
Who is talking about the price?"Switch 2 too expensive no mass market price so people won't but it, also other handhelds that cost double and have no Nintendo games are competition and stealing its sales".
Yeah, makes total sense.
Are you saying the Switch 2 isn't overpriced? Especially when it's 110 US dollars cheaper in Japan (games are switch 1 prices before TTOK).This guy gets it. People need to stop trying to force their PCMR views onto these shitty PC handhelds that are over priced and not direct competition with the Switch or Switch 2.
Exclusives still sell. These portable PC's are so niche with limited market penetration. There is no erosion here, move on, it's not the same experience Nintendo is offering. Getting so sick of this incorrect narative.
the deck1 was released with better specs and was not the easy choice with switch1.I don't think you're getting it. Switch 2 is gonna sell millions BECAUSE OF NINTENDO GAMES. You're saying this as if anybody implied that the Deck was gonna outsell the Switch. Nobody is saying that, calm down. Secondly, the Deck is not the only other handheld there is. At this point it feels like there's one coming out on monthly basis, and they're all eroding Switch sales. The Switch 2 is here to stay for 7-9 years. During that time, can you even imagine how far ahead mobile hardware will advance? There's gonna be a Deck 3 by the time Nintendo is done with the Switch 2, and you ain't seeing any hardware upgrades with them either, so the future of everything running sub 30fps like on the Switch since 2020 is the future. Plenty of people will refuse buying a Nintendo exclusive if it runs like shit, i know for a fact many didn't buy ToTK because of it, and if they have to buy the system as well, forget it, they'll buy another, more capable handheld instead, and this is where the erosion of Switch 2 sales is coming from. Nobody said that it won't sell. It simply ain't gonna approach Switch 1 sales.the deck1 was released with better specs and was not the easy choice with switch1.
It's amazing that after all this time people can be this delusional about specs making a difference.
They were eroding Switch sales so much it almost didn't pass 150m...You're saying this as if anybody implied that the Deck was gonna outsell the Switch. Nobody is saying that, calm down. Funny how you're ignoring the fact that the Switch portability was new for a console/portable hybrid when it came out and had zero competition for years. 22M sales when you have nothing to play on the system because no third party is on it, or it's by far the worse version of every game, is supposed to be impressive? Nintendo funnels you into their exclusives because you had nothing else on the Switch. Also, 22M ToTK sold with a 150M+ fanbase ain't as impressive as you think. They were eroding Switch sales so much it almost didn't pass 150m...
love ancedotal evidence of people who were not buying TotK, it only sold like 22m copies.
Specs are meaningless to 93.2% of people. That's a fact.
Relative to what? Also, 22M ToTK sold with a 150M+ fanbase ain't as impressive as you think.
Don't feed the troll. Let's move past that.Relative to what?
Ps2 sold more and doesn't have a single 20M+ seller. The Nintendo DS reached similar heights and has 3 in total.
Why do you compare gaming nowadays to how it was 20+ years ago? It used to be known as a nerd hobby, and look at it now.Relative to what?
Ps2 sold more and doesn't have a single 20M+ seller. The Nintendo DS reached similar heights and has 3 in total.
Same user base numbers. And if the Ps2 and DS consisted of 150/160M+ hardcore nerds you'd definitely expect there to be a multitude of 20M+ sellers. Why do you compare gaming nowadays to how it was 20+ years ago? It used to be known as a nerd hobby, and look at it now.
All the handheld PCs you have in mind, including Steam Deck, have sales trajectories that won't reach even PlayStation Vita's total sales.Yea, Steam Deck. But steam deck isn't the only handheld eroding Switch 2 sales, all the other handheld are, and will for the next 8+ years while the switch 2 is on sale.
They do not always make a difference not in all markets and with all the core consumers, but you do get why some people get annoyed if price rise and companies use that to increase profit margins (I.e.: cheapening out on components promised vs delivered)… it might be that people are oblivious and/or do not care but in an enthusiast forum where people should be more aware about the impact of that should we really be celebrating that? It's amazing that after all this time people can be this delusional about specs making a difference.
No competition whatsoever my freind. All those devices are niche at best and are not intended to comete with the Switch in the first place. No chance it surpasses the Switch. Way too much competition in the handheld space now, so it ain't happening.
You are not the best argument to suggest the hobby is no longer nerdy however. Why do you compare gaming nowadays to how it was 20+ years ago? It used to be known as a nerd hobby, and look at it now.
No.You said, and I quote:
Which sounds a lot like "it only sold well during COVID"
Who says they didn't?So why didn't they buy Xbox or PS during that time? why buy the mobile device that actually allows you to go outside and play it?
Oh, it was the software...
If Nintendo keeps having a stream of games coming out every month like they do this year, they will get those customers. And if COD comes to it, they'll get even newer customers, as with Elden Ring, etc.
Nintendo is very well positioned.
I'm totally fine with my Switch 2, I don't feel like the device is not what is advertised and it's also a cheap compared to other handheld devices that have more advanced tech.
Then again there are people who have never been happier in their lives about Sony in general as their profits are right now almost 2x what they made for all other generations combined. Profits = they are great. Not sure I see the cheerful and happy feelings about Sony here either. Anywyas, not the topic to talk about Nintendo competitors.
Getting laughed at but i'm just saying... switch 2 will not beat og switch in terms of sales.

"Specs" do matter but aren't the only factor to determine the device penetration in the market (hardware price, unique features, exclusive content, game library, regional support and availability on retailers shelves, marketing push and so on).the deck1 was released with better specs and was not the easy choice with switch1.
It's amazing that after all this time people can be this delusional about specs making a difference.
PC handhelds don't sell even a fraction of the Switch 2.No chance it surpasses the Switch. Way too much competition in the handheld space now, so it ain't happening.
So you mean the gaming handhelds that are even more niche than the already niche Steam Deck.... I see.Yea, Steam Deck. But steam deck isn't the only handheld eroding Switch 2 sales, all the other handheld are, and will for the next 8+ years while the switch 2 is on sale.
