I dont have the game yet, but what do you guys think about the mod potential for this game? Is it too early to tell?

Do you guys think the community with go wild with it since the canvas for this game is endless? Or do you think it will be limited to just cosmetics?

you've clicked the right stick to run, right? I think with that, it's better - but you get winded. I found an upgrade for more stamina, which is nice. I wish you could call your ship to you.

You can call your ship at certain locations using a special terminal. Would be cool to be able to call it anywhere, but that would remove a lot of the danger/risk of exploring.

The fact is that many experiences don't "bloom" for a good bit of play/read/watch time. Push through that boredom and the experience might become better than anything you've experienced. Hypothetically. That could actually happen. It's happened to lots of people.

I didn't think The Witcher 3 was that great until hour 10. The Wire IMO isn't brilliant until season 3, at which point it becomes possibly the greatest TV show ever made. The last of us and Shadow of the Colossus have slow openings but are up the on "best games" lists because of their middles/half's.

If you're someone with very little time this obviously isn't worth it unless you have a lot of patience.

I've never found the "It gets better!" argument to be particularly convincing, even less so these days when theres so many alternative entertainment options available. I'd rather move on to something else, five seasons of a great tv show is a more attractive option than slogging through three boring seasons for two good ones. The return on "It gets better!" never really pays off, people just seem to forget the slog, or possibly I over-value my time.

I'm very interested to see what the general public response to this game will be. It is extraordinarily slow (and I don't mean that as an insult) and I have a feeling a lot of people won't be expecting that pace.

I'm going to spend all day trying to decide if I should delete my save or not from using that stupid dlc ship. I completely didn't want to, but after half an hour of that message repeatedly popping up I gave in.

I 85%ed my starting planet but the "tutorial" progression completely stopped and now all it tells me to do is to go to space and use the hyperdrive. I really don't want to leave and miss a bunch of lore/game explanation.

Stuff you missed was hand holding and telling you step by step how to repair ship functions and craft stuff. Even parts for warp fuel can be found by looking around at logical spots. You didn't miss out on lore, especially if you keep exploring.

Note for those who think this is still mutiplayer/MMO/see each other - if you go to OPTIONS menu, it pauses the game. I just did it in a space station while an AI ship was landing, the world stops when in OPTIONS screen. I was connected to server at the time, too. So, yeah, this isn't multiplayer.

Not a dig at the game btw, so far I love it.

Learn to boost dash! Melee + Jetpack for a momentum burst. Sprint, then Melee + Jetpack for the biggest of all. You can maintain your speed as long as you have Jetpack charge.

What's this thing about the DLC ship?

I really want to get rid of that message too, but I'm not sure exactly what's causing it.

Loving this game so far, has me hooked. Played for a few hours last night and again this morning. I continue to lose track of time from this.

The game started me in a 3 planet system along with a space station. There's life on 2 of the 3 planets and the planets have a ton of gold to mine from them. I'm gathering as much as I can and selling so I can buy a better ship.

So far inventory space has been the biggest challenge. I've learned how to navigate my ship better, so I fly to a mining spot, mine it dry, and transfer to my ship. It works, but is tedious. I also found a few upgrades to expand my space on my suit, so looking forward to finding more.

Can't wait to get home and play more of this today.

Got my LE. Store's shipment were all damaged however, so they offered 10 euros off, or buying the regular edition with a free faceplate.

I hate that I can't revisit my first planet. No idea where it is on the galactic map.

You can go back. It's probably not too far from where you are now. If you always want to have access to it, go into free exploration mode on the map and look at some of the stars in your general vicinity (especially in the direction away from the center). Alternatively, hitting right on the d-pad takes you to the nearest star system that was discovered by someone, which may take you back to your starter. Either way, when you find it, hit square on it to set a waypoint. Then you can always travel back to it.

You're given many options in the galactic map. You can travel the most direct course to the center of the universe, you can free explore, you can follow the path to a waypoint you set,
you can follow the path that the Atlas wants you to take
, and so on.

How do I know if my intro quest is glitched? So far it's telling me to use the Galaxy Map.

Is that good?

You've redeemed your pre-order ship, which has a working hyperdrive. This skips all of the intro stuff, allowing you to warp immediately to another system.

I keep going back and forth on wanting this game, it seems really cool to find new planets and plants/animals, but the actual survival gameplay looks a bit dull.

I chose to skip the Atlas path at the start of the game. Did I read right that there are three story paths in the game? Do the other two present themselves via a similar deliberate plot event or are they more emergent? Also are these Atlas cards I see I need to access certain crates/cylinders only available via the Atlas path?

Anyone know how to get an AtlasPass yet? Are they found, bought, or crafted?
Crafted after you reach a certain point in the game. It was probably about 8 or 9 star systems for me. I actually stopped shortly after I got mine last night.

I think you end up at the place where you get it regardless of what you choose, but I could be wrong, seeing as I've only done it once so far. :D

Ah ok cool, I'll stop worrying about it for now then. Thanks!

Welp finally got my first crash. Thankfully it was immediately after I saved so I didn't lose any progress unless you count the four steps I walked.

Was on a planet where the day looked like night. Only reason you knew it was day was the temperature and the sun in the sky but everything was still dark and you could see the stars. Amazing.

Last night, I ran into this alien that upgraded my multi-tool, so now it looks like the Grasp of Malok. I never got one in Destiny, so I guess this is better than nothing! Also, after I warped into another system I ran into some kind of shipping convoy. I tried to break in to one of their containers, and those guys didn't like that too much. They almost immediately started shooting. I pulse jumped out of there right quick. When I went back to the area, they were all gone.

They screwed up my mining lasers, though. They really should pay for that.
