I should never have left my home planet. Fuck. Gold everywhere, and huge, HUGE heridium towers.

My favourite thing to do with those is mine a spiral going upwards and jet pack up in the process. then when I'm at the top, survey the surroundings. :D

I have huge heridium towers on my planet... gold is not everywhere, but crystal like and around to get enough.

I assume heridium is very important?

Wiped my character and figured I would start fresh with my knowledge from the first play through and that I'm not hindered by that garbage pre-order ship glitch.

On a red hot planet now! No snow here.

What is the pre-order ship glitch?

Does anyone know--I am two or three systems deep and haven't been asked to make a choice between following Atlas and a free form alternative. Is my game bugged?

I see people referencing that choice, but have not encountered it in my game, I think.

i didnt see my first Atlas and asked to pick until i was like 4 systems in. If you missed it, they will come up again.

I found out last night by the way, that if you go to a completely vertical surface and hold the jetpack, you "climb" without the jetpack running out of fuel.

The game even says that so it's intended.

Might be useful for those thinking they're stuck in a jam.

Got my first bit of repeated content last night, and as a double whammy it was back to back. Warped into a new solar system, pinged for areas of interest and found an abandoned outpost. Flew down to the planet (while getting hit with the Arrival to Destination bug where the counter just stops going down and you never get close to the marker till you stop and possibly land first) checked out the site and got a really neat little back story about some experiment gone awry at the location.

There was one of those bypass markers just outside the facility so I trigger that and opt for the distress transmission. It directs me to another abandoned facility 12 minutes away. I zoom over there, and it's this partially flooded building - very cool looking. I swim into the building and it's decorated in the same fashion as the place I just left, and the story prompt from interacting with the terminal is the exact same.

I mean, I totally expected the game to reuse content and these little short stories. But I guess that's the problem with procedurally generated content is that it doesn't seem to take into account what you've seen recently. Kind of let the air out of my excitement a bit. I'm only like 4 or 5 warps into the game. Hoping this is a just a fluke and not the start of seeing the same prompts over and over. :/

Get used to it. I'm a good 20 warps in and the repetition is getting to me hard.

Shame, sure this is what it is. It's procedurally generated - how else could they do it? Aside from loading even more templates? perhaps they will in future patches?

The trick is to look beyond the cut and paste nature of the world generation and allow yourself to experience the beauty and variation on offer. Literally I've gone from Ice Planets to Desert Worlds to Radioactive Barren Wastelands to the most beautiful lush planets teaming with life. And while there's been a certain similarity between worlds, each and every one has been different and magical in it's own right.

And people have posted videos and images of worlds like nothing I've experienced yet to I know there's more out there for me to find...

I've seen some truly bizarre worlds as well. One was covered with immense 1,000 foot stone monoliths.

Finally, I figured out how to run an hour in...lol. So apparently I crash landed on a planet with an abundance of hostile drones and high toxicity...I looked like an idiot trying to slow walk away from drones...haha.

What??? Can we run??? Damnnit, which is the running button? I spent hours yesterday on my starting planet trying to fix a better ship i found and if i knew i could run it would be much faster.

Absolutely loving the game and like so many others i missed my time for sleep going to bed only at 3 am (and waking up at 7!!).

I should never have left my home planet. Fuck. Gold everywhere, and huge, HUGE heridium towers.

I hated my first planet. My first system, even. Everything was toxic and depressing to look at. I originally planned to explore as much of the first planet as possible but I couldn't wait to get out of there.

Is there a way to upload all discoveries at the same time?

I am really enjoying the game so far. I like that the flight/travel mechanics are very simple. I'm a big fan of scanning some critters. I am relieved that the survival mechanics aren't overly burdensome. I love that exploration and discoveries are leading to bigger discoveries. Ready to unravel some galactic mysteries.

That's how I see the game, with more patches/add-on/dlc whatever this game could become even more incredible .

Did not Sean said in the next patch they want to add cloud effect and the ability to build base on planet and own freighter ?

Wished the developers implemented trade from resources, knowledge ,and weapons between other players this would have been 9/10 for me instantly.

I wonder could they add this feature, later.

The worst part is it actually doesn't even come out exactly on Friday, but likely 6 PM GMT (11 AM PT).

The only thing keeping me from buying it on PS4 is the 30 FOV.

it's right next to your ship when you start. Not sure if you can get back to that, but I chose
to refuse the atlas, and I was offered a chance to rejoin it when I found another story moment.

I'm a few too many systems in to burn the resources to go back at the moment, but I'm tempted to try.

Now I wonder, since I never got the hyperdrive blueprint, if I have to hope one drops for me at a manufacturing facility? Without one, I can never buy a space trader ship as they all seem to not have a warp drive.

I'm debating starting over at this point, but I have some really great resources, a decent multi-tool, and a goodly amount of credits. I'm loving the game, but the bugs associated with the preorder ship are really a shame.

Found a random broken down ship and accepted it without transferring everything I had smh

Immediately quit. Would rather lose progress and keep my stuff than get a marginally better ship and have to get everything back

I can't find any Zinc on this planet!

I've read that I should look out for yellow flowers, but since this is a toxic planet there is not much flowering going on.

Any help?

So is all the life on the planets plants and animals? Are all the humanoid aliens just in buildings and ships, but not actually on foot on the planets?

Yep. And you can't shoot or engage any of the humanoids. (I've tried). I think it'd be cool if you could run into packs of guys with guns on the ground. Like treasure hunters/pirates/etc.

They'll still be around. Though I've had better luck just buying them.

You can buy zinc at a space station if you can't find any on a planet.

Your old ship will just be there. You can just switch back to it, then do the switch again and transfer correctly. You can also reload current save from options. And previous save.

There needs to be some way to mark places you've already been. Found a scanner, that told me of a hanger and a ruin. When I went to both, I found that I had already been there.

What is the difference between uploading from options menu to get credits and uploading at an Atlas beacon. I'm asking because I've never found an Atlas beacon but I have continually uploaded from the options menu. Will the data not "officially" be stored universally if I don't find an Atlas beacon?

First thing i will do when i get home. I looked for an option to customize the controllers in-game, but I was sad to found none.

I also think i got stuck on the tutorial bug; redeemed my ship and i think i missed the hyper-drive mission; i wandered around an hour last night, but had no indication of what to do now.

It was a little bit confusing for me, but i chose the Atlas path for the story stuff so it's been guiding me a bit. Just do a scan and you should see where the next object is at. When I got to space, I got the distress beacon and went to that. Just keep bouncing between those markers and you should be good.

Took me a bit until it popped up on the lower left, to press R1/L1 to go fast though.

How do you unlock slots for inventory on your ship? No problems with the suit but I have no idea how to do it on my ship.
Thanks!

So i'm stuck on the starting planet. Went exploring some underground caves full of plutonium and emeril and got lost, can't find the exit anymore.

Can't complain about missing fuel though.

No Man's Sky threads are exactly the same way Destiny threads went. Shit everywhere except the OT.

I mean both games have some pretty sizeable flaws on release despite all the good. It doesn't surprise me that the OT is still the flowers and rainbows safe zone.

Havent people been saying to fix this missing hyperdrive issue sell your pre-order ship to acquire one of these ships without hyperdrive and it will give you that original hyperdrive blueprint quest? Havent confirmed this so don't hold me to it.

You need a new ship. If you have enough money, you can buy ships from the guys that sometimes land at trading outposts or space stations. If there's a way to increase storage on your current ship I haven't heard of how to do that.

What is the pre-order ship glitch?

When you start the game you have a few objectives. One of them is obtaining blueprint for your ships hyperdrive, enabling you to create that item any point in the game moving forward.

If you use your pre-order ship, it bypasses this sequence due to the game assuming you completed this task. Unless you find a ship or purchase that already has this hyperdrive, you are unable to create this item or learn upgraded construction to it later.

Nah Destiny was getting it way worse.

Anyone know where you get the hyperdrive upgrades? I've gotten what feels like a million upgrades for everything else, but I want that fuel efficiency!

So I had a very-nearly fatal close encounter with a huge shark-looking creature with a unicorn horn. Unfortunately I was too busy trying to escape to take a screenshot.

I'm in the exact same position with the hyperdrive. I just bought a ship without one to see if I could then find the blueprints.

I'm really happy with my journey so far, have tons of cool tech and spots I don't want to lose...

stupid preorder ship :(
