They really need to sort out the inventory in this asap. Far too fucking small to the point where I'm just not bothering mining stuff because I can't be arsed with it getting full, having to piss about deciding what to keep or dump, or go back and forward to a merchant to sell it (if I've actually found one on the planet at that point.) Really dumb that suit/ship upgrades take up slots too, haven't bothered crafting much of them either as a result. They need to add something like a vault you can only access in space stations to store stuff in.
I really don't see the point in the sentinels attacking you after you've mined and destroyed a certain amount of stuff either. The whole system seems pointless and if it's there to stop you from mining everything in site then the small inventory system already does that job and does it better at this point of the game.
Sadly I'm not gonna buy it... I wanna play it, but if there's a chance that will be PSVR compatible I rather wait and try it for the first time in VR... so without any calarification I can't even play it without VR... so is useless to buy I game I don't know I'll play.
And yes, the preorder ship thing is a major bug. I do have some sympathy for how it could go undetected, but it is a showstopper for those affected.
The problem isn't actually in lacking the blueprints, especially if you can find them later on in other systems at outposts or factories, as many have reported.
The problem is that unlocking the blueprints during that mission is a flag for spaceport ship inventories to start stocking hyperdrives. Ships in my starting home system now have them.
It's fine if you want to, say, spurn the initial quests as much as possible and cruise out into space of your own rules- which would mean you wouldn't get the blueprints to craft your own. BUT, someone in that situation ought to be able to profit and buy their way into a ship with a functional hyperdrive.
I really need to find a crashed ship or something. I've found a couple of inventory upgrades for my suit and some new multi-tools but absolutely nothing for my ship. Everything's too expensive.
I'm assuming you're not far in the game. You're going to reach their Atlas stationeventually, assuming you scan each system you visit, and there you'll have another chance to continue on the path. You'll also be given 2 other choices for paths. These aren't really spoilery, but I'm going to hide them just in case.
Exploration, the DIY option
]Harness the Black Holes to Reach the Galactic Core Faster
The Atlas Path, which leads you to the center with several stops along the way. This is also the past that has the most narrative.
I chose to refuse their guidance at first, but went with The Atlas Path when I got the choice. Mostly because it's not limiting. I can still use a black hole if I find one, and I can still go off the path to explore at my leisure.
I'm not sure if you're given another chance after that, though. I would assume you do, but it's too early to be positive.
EDIT: I was mistaken. It's not at the Atlas Station where I got the choice, it was the Atlas Station that triggered finding a
Space Anomaly
in the next system I visited.
There I met two aliens one of which gave me the choice.
FYI, you may come across ships you can buy/repair that do have hyper drives, it's just not guaranteed. what happens is people don't realize it and they switch to a ship without one.
if you're careful you should be okay, I just don't want to be paranoid so I'm starting over
So, uhm ... i'm just doing the questline to get the hyperdrive - and, now that i BUILT the drive, having to fuel it, it tells me i should visit a shelter on my 2nd planet to meet a lifeform.
The problem is: there is no shelter at that location. I already went back into space, landed on a space station, went back to the planet. No shelter.
Would seriously bum me out to get stuck because of a bug like that. I'm a huge completionist - i've sunk like 8 hours into this game already :/
my only hope is - according to this guide - to just buy the first antimatter i need from a random ship on the space station and continue my quest.

dang - i may jump on the atlas pass when i get my next chance. i thought agreeing to him was going to be like a small tutorial for a few hours and i wanted freedom, but i dont want ot miss out on narrative!

I reached the second encounter with Atlus and didn't receive any of these options. It was just pissed I rejected it the first time and I was left to do my own thing.
So when you meet one of those alien traders inside a base and lack the amount of carbon they require (10 units usually) there is literally a plant in the same room that you can harvest.

Apparently, you get a hyper drive as a part of the tutorial. But the game starts nagging you about getting your preorder bonus immediately. If you get the bonus, it quits the tutorial, and if you quit the tutorial before you get the hyper drive, apparently you simply never get it.
Though I've heard from other comments that you'll simply find the hyper drive blueprints randomly if you simply continue playing the game, even if you aborted the tutorial due to that bug.
Without spoiling does the game get any more... Interesting?? It basically feels like one big fetch quest right now. I've played about 2 hours and all I'm doing is collecting some crap to make more crap to make a final piece of crap... Which then tells me I have to start the whole process again to make a different series of pieces of crap.

Do you know if there are rules between the fauna and flora in this game? I mean, natural rules for weird they could be.
I ask this because my first planet was this place full of mountains, rocky mountains but also had trees and plants and animals, not grass though, but I kept thinking "how do these species survive here? there's no water to be seen and it never rains, I'm been for like a week here and have to cross any river o stream yet". It's ok if I shouldn't put that much into it but I'd like to know if I'm were supposed to think about things like this, since I'm making my own story is important to me to know this kinda of stuff.
Anyway, the games is awesome so far, can't wait to the weekend to play non stop haha.
Inventory doesn't bother me as much as how fast you need to recharge some things (like the ship propulsors, use your ship 4 times and you need to recharge already).
It's a problem especially when you're attacked and need to recharge (but the menu doesn't pause the game).
I just got a shipping notification for my LE and I haven't even opened my regular copy yet. If it's a day or two I can wait and just return my normal one but if it's gonna be next week or something I dunno man, I DUNNO
I'm not sure about it to be honest. Thing that I don't like is having to recharge everything with materials all the time. It doesn't help the low inventory space and the huge landscapes you traverse to get them. Getting the ship is better but having spent a whole lot of time on the starting planet and then taking off to another, there doesn't seem much to keep me interested or change much of what I've already done. I almost feel like I've experienced it and the change of flora and fauna isn't making much of a difference. I'll play it a bit more, maybe I feel overwhelmed by it all by its not as fun to play cause of the above restrictions I guess.
If you redeem it before you get the hyper drive blueprints it can skip that mission happening so you can't build one for future ships I think.
I think I redeemed it after I was meant to build it but I cant remember if I had the blueprints or not. Is there a way for me to check without getting rid of my ship and trying to build one?

I think I read the same thing. Customizability and modding for stuff like community generated quests, weapons, gear, ships, interface mods could make this game huge.
I finally found the hyperdrive blueprint. They were at the bottom of an ocean with crazy radiation 5 minutes away from the shore. Had to load up on Zinc and other stuff to keep the radioactivity from killing me. And I almost died when I surfaced. That was intense and one of the reasons I'm really loving the game so far.
Hahahaha, so true. It is so massive, so many amazing caverns with beautiful Stalactites, Stalagmites, and other neat colorful and glowing things.
Planet is harsh, 58C in more often than not peak moments, has cooling moments, slight wind/heat storms, no water I can see, caves cool me off.
Few different dino and mother brain creatures, little brainy crabs that seem to be the only vicious ones that will chase me across the map, the t-rex dinos are herbivores ironically.
Getting nice weapon upgrades, and the like. I could legit spend a week on it, lol.
Can you upgrade scanners to show if there is caves/caverns around? Or is it by chance of digging?
Hmm I dont think I have the recipe to actually build a hyperdrive either. Where can you select it in the inventory to make? I also redeemed the preorder ship
Outposts is likely a small.. outpost. With an alien, most of the time, and a trade center. A shelter is more just a hut, often are these exo suit upgrades. Transmissions are distress class and such. Just try them all. I'm not really certain, myself.
