fuck pirates, leave me alone please.

i had to go to another galaxy because shit was infested with those fuckers and since im a hoarder all my slots were occupied with expensive shit but not weapon or shield upgrades.

that said i found 2 fuckers trying to rob me but i managed to kill them

Yeah. I'm just camping out in a building with my Gek buddy at an outpost.

I can only last like 40 minutes or so without needing to refill my life-support though. I wish I had that life support theta.

What happens when your life support runs out anyway? Does your health start decreasing?

Being in a building doesn't count afaik, you need to be outside. Had +2 and +3 life-support upgrade installed, required 1 refill per hour or so.

Currently @work but maybe later I'm gonna post some pictures in the photo-thread, until now the most beautiful planet in terms of color & landscape despite being a fucking lethal radioactive rock.

I saw an awesome looking ship on a landing platform yesterday, but alas, I didn't have enough money. Also, am I the only one struggling to upgrade their multitool? Mine still has something like 8 slots.

Haha, that's why they want your ship.

My favourite large creature as of now must be the beaked bronto:

Not a predator but it still attacked me when I got too close.

Found a planet last night that is absolutely covered in knowledge stones. They are everywhere. I could land on any small island and find 6 or 7.

I learned 80 words in 20 minutes.

I actually had to force myself to stop going for them because I'd otherwise end up spending days on the one planet.

This game is far from perfect and might have disappointed many, but you have to admit it's pretty mind boggling that that planet in the above picture is not just some backdrop to stare at making a nice looking skybox like every other game. You can get in your spaceship, leave the planet you're currently on, fly to that planet in the picture and enter its atmosphere and land all without a single loading screen. And it's the size of an actual planet.

Pretty damn cool when you think about it.

Being in a building does count. It's being in your ship that doesn't count.

Currently at 24 sols now. So probably 2 hours more of idling left. It's about 15 minutes per sol apparently.

I spoilered it for the people obsessed with spoilers, but I'm wondering if specific interactions with NPCs may be tied to having specific items in your inventory, unless this happened to someone else?

Had an interaction with a Vykeen which had't happened before
he asked me to cut open my hand, you lose a life bar but gained a very high level radiation protection ... don't know if it was because I was holding a Vykeen knife?

Happened to me and I had no knife.

You can be scanned while using your Impulse-Drive as well, had to experience that twice yesterday.

god damn it, ill keep mining until i buy a good fighter ship and massacre all space pirates from all my galaxies. this is how heroes are born
or villains

edit: man this game is a time sinker, i thought i was going to bed early but ill just have like 2:30 hours of sleep before getting ready for work. its gonna be fun lol

Finding a ship with armaments to rip through pirates is not hard. Finding one with both armaments and shields is a lot rarer (maybe not possible) in my experience. Two or 3 hits with my current cannon on my 29 slot fighter style ship seems to kill any fighter but I spend half the time recharging shields

Why? Is there an exploit?

When you're on a planet with no animals, you can upload 100% complete data and it counts as +1 to your milestone.

It does end up bugging all your past planets/systems though. But it fixes itself for each planet you visit after.

I've only had the game crash twice on me in about 14 hours.
Both times was when I was warping to another system.

Anywho, how are you guys finding upgrades to your warp drive?
Just regular blueprints on planet outposts for example?

I've had this issue in menus where if I sometimes double tap the esc or right-click due to twitchy fingers, the game randomly closes immediately. So bothersome.

Finally got my 48 slot ship; an explorer type to boot. Tomorrow I'll max out the wrap reactor + Pulse jet + shields then I'm all set for long distance exploration. So tired now, time to pass out.

For those that don't follow game sales closely, NMS is a huge success

15/Aug/2016

Taking off on Wednesday 10th August, ‘No Man’s Sky’ shoots straight to No1.

It becomes Sony’s 2nd biggest ever PS4 launch (behind Uncharted 4) and Sony’s biggest launch for a new IP on PS4. In terms of new IP across all publishers and Sony formats it sits 5th behind Destiny (PS4), Watch Dogs (PS4), The Getaway (PS2) and The Last of Us (PS3)

That is over 100K in the UK.

This should at least stop all those pricing complaints.

Honest impressions incoming!!!!!

So I'm hooked to this game. Then again, I usually do this with new games. I try to think back on what I've done, and nothing seems impressive. I've lucked out going to planets that have a stupid amount of gold and life pods to upgrade my exosuit. So what have I done? I've scanned, walked, flown and managed my inventory. And then I managed my inventory some more.

I've died twice. Both times by warping to a new system and being destroyed by a squadron of pirates. I've maybe encountered three aggressive alien creatures. All three on different planets, but all were crab like creatures. I guess Sean hates crabs.

I finally decided to get an upgraded ship. I haven't tested it out on any pirates though. Space flight is fun.

The he on foot combat is probably some of the worst in the industry, as is their PC optimization. Why does maxed out AA both through my graphics card and/or using it in game still make the game a jagged mess? FOV just doesn't feel right ever, and the game can look like utter crap, a lot. Like, stupid ugly, not even good art direction ugly.

Then an there's the walk speed. What kind of fucking snail are we playing as? Ok cool, I can upgrade my suit to have better run duration, but that shit takes up an inventory slot. And those are precious for the first 10-20 hours.

So so why do I keep playing? I don't know. I guess I'm a little curious what happens if I keep going down this Atlas path and collecting all those stupid atlas stones. The gameplay is nothing special. The graphics are bad. The performance depends on the planet you're on, but the soundtrack is awesome.

I'm not naming anything, only uploading planet info. I can see how any reviewer could rate this lower than 7/10 though. It's a mess and kind of dumb. But sometimes dumb is ok.

By far the most bugged game I've ever played, game crashes randomly and often freezes or slow down, it's a mess.
Ps4 btw, i don't care their small team excuse, my money big or small is the same i want a polished exp.

Shame on them.

oic, man, these trophies are a pain. just read that they're dead easy to get in 1.00. i might just do that after i finish the main story so i can start with an unpatched version of the game for them. physical ain't all that bad after all, lol

Yeah, but if you play on a 1.00 save file, you can't use it on 1.03 or something. Not sure if it works vice versa.

The only thing that really worries me anyway is destroying 80 ships in combat. I'm only at 15 but space combat sucks since I feel like I'm just sitting in space not moving trying to aim at ships the majority of the time.

So, are any of you guys constantly running in to systems and planets that have already been discovered by someone else? I actually thought it would be more rare, but I think 30% of the planets I see have already been discovered.

Edit: Holy shit, can you find other people's graves in this game?! I just entered a completely new system and saw a grave icon, went for it and got a bunch of materials.

Edit part 2: WHAT!? Another grave... is this a bug or am I seeing things here?
Yes I have 3 other players in my vicinity on PC. We all seem to have spawned along the same Atlas path.

In addition to where to find warp drive upgrades, what am I suppose to do with the Atlas Stones?
I'm worried about selling them so I guess I just gotta hog them until they have some use further down the line?

I've had this issue in menus where if I sometimes double tap the esc or right-click due to twitchy fingers, the game randomly closes immediately. So bothersome.

Yeah the crashes are really annoying especially when you haven't saved recently.
Luckily I saw HG blog post talking about how they have expanded their QA team like crazy starting today so hopefully these issues are ironed out quickly.

Wait, how does it bug it?

It'll say that all your past planets are 100% complete but you won't be able to upload those even if the past planets had no animals and really are 100% complete.

It doesn't effect undiscovered planets though. Just the ones you've been to.

I haven't found a planet with valuable minerals in so long that I am running out of cash for suit upgrades. D:

Gonna have to sell bypass modules I guess. ]:
