Yeah this is probably because it was quite easy to get store credit and the only viable option so too many used it probably. I used it twice in a year, about 70 bucks total. 2 free games out of it.

it's pretty funny, i was just thinking the other day that this rewards system is too good to be true and that all good things come to end (pretty quickly nowadays i might add).
Now, maybe this is yet another fuckup on Sony's end (their network seems to be held together by duct tape) or, arrogant Sony really is back

I just redeemed 1250 points (5€), worked fine. The 2500 point/10€ option is still there as well.I didn't even claim it
Also doubt this is a bug. Sony did something similar after increasing the price of the PS+, they only granted yearly discounts to some users.
What did happen though, is that Sony recently changed their TOS regarding the service, and you'll have to accept them to continue like before. This kinda shit happens all the time, it's by far exclusive to Sony. Try going through your emails, you should have received several notifications about it. Or, try the PS Store website/PS app (good luck with the latter option).

I did accept in the app and for me its gone. I used it before about a month ago, perhaps they put in a limit of one time use on it in the meantime.

To be fare I only ever earned enough for the £5 psn vouchers at a time. Now they have reduced the points to lasting 12 months I'm never gonna hit the £10 one, so might as well give up on it.
I suspect the whole rewards to be discontinued in the next 12 months. It's always been buggy, and I would expect the amount of reports these people who want their digital trinkets put into customer service, I wouldn't be surprised if they scrap it.

It's funny you would think that, because with only the exception of a select few posters on this board, most of the Sony fans/customers here will call out Sony on their bullshit always. They've been getting a lot of flak for the direction they went this gen with GAAS, all the fucking pointless remasters and focus on DEI bullshit in their first party titles. Sony basically has no competition in the console space now and they know it, they are leveraging that in their favor by getting rid of the perks they once offered. Unironically "arrogant Sony" is back but this time they have free reign to do whatever they please.

Amazon is worse than everything without question. They basically silo issues by department and the customer facing org cannot do anything without contacting another department. Many departments do not respond at all so the rep you are talking with can only tell you that you will get a response in 48 hours but that doesn't happen. You can try again and again and again, but you will get the same nothing result.

Based on this thread, I think you are right about regionally. Seems like people mention pounds are able to redeem still. I'm guessing no one in the US has the option anymore (mine is gone).

I've never even seen a $50 option, I think $20 was my maximum option at 5,000 points. I did a redemption a few weeks back and saw none when I checked yesterday. Can you see if you still have wallet fund options after your redemption?

Prior to the $10 one, they only had $5 and $20 increments. Seems the $5 and $20 are gone, and it only has $10 now.Nice. Where the fuck did the £5 option go though?

It's a far cry from 2011, back-on-their-heels Sony. Threw free games at us. PS+ was optional but the monthly games were good (I think all 80+ MC).

For as much crap Nintendo gets for their store and prices, the best customer friendly thing they’ve done is have automatic gold points added to your account and been able to use them whenever. I also appreciate their 2 games for $100, since I can buy the Costco $100 for $90 and get two brand new games for $45 each + $5 in gold coins.
PSN should borrow that from them: have gold coins added to your account as credit (digital must have some sort of benefit after all) and any other weird crappy digital goodie you can earn, have it do so separately from the credit.
Who in their right mind will spend points on a NFT wannabe when they can buy $10 and buy a game. Even the games they have there don’t make sense as you can buy the points and buy them at a discount most of the time when they go on sale.

They are:
“PlayStation Plus members who also join PlayStation Stars will earn Points with every Eligible Purchase made on PlayStation®Store. The Points you earn can be redeemed in your Rewards Catalog for available”
If you had PS+ and redeemed your points for store credit, it was like getting 4% cashback on every PS store purchase.
