So this guy is doing a walkthrough video on youtube:

Looks really awesome... the last video gets to the stage of the rank #50 fight.

Definitely a big step towards Killer 7's style of presentation... Suda doesn't seem to hold back in this one.

You won't get me so easily!
Must not spoil!

Woah, lots of Dark Remix. I always felt special knowing the Dark remix songs, but now just about everyone will know about it :(

Doesn't work (at least it didn't with guitar hero metallica).

I've been looking into it, and apparently this thing called savmanager can help in some cases. I'll see. Not a big deal I suppose.

Will get a black Wii bundle just for this game (and for Zelda Wii).
Nintendo needs to buy Grasshopper and fusion them with EAD.

Easy.
It's fucking Suda.

The problem, though, is that Suda thrives with a small budget and team.
Giving him Nintendo's resources would kill a lot of his creativity.

So I hear that the game is more streamlined, that awesome :).

Just boost the graphics a little, get some AI for the drones and advance the mechanics a little and I'll love the game.

All of that was done, actually.

In the opening video it lists Suda as the Executive Director and Nobutaka Ichiki as the actual Director, which I thought was interesting. I wonder what Suda's exact level of involvement was in this game? Maybe this is because he is working on the EA game?

He was basically the supervisor but he still wrote the story.

I kinda feel that way too, but I'm glad more people get to hear the tunes. "It's kill or be killed mix" is my favorite track and it happens to be a BGM this time around. :D

So I'm watching those walkthrough videos and the guy that's playing it isn't using the little finisher boost (waggle during the finisher slow-mo). When I found out how to do it in NMH, it made the finishers much more enjoyable. Looking at plain slow-mo doesn't excite me as much. :/

He's a pretty swell guy in my books anyway.

Weird, I thought Toshihiro Fujikawa, the other assistant director of NMH, was going to direct. Suda's role with the game was known from the beginning though.

To those who have played the game, how many Dark Side Remixes have you noticed?

For some reason I feel like the remixes fit the sequel much more than they would have in the original. Do they fit the overall feel of the game?

Off the top of my head, I think I've heard three so far. Wouldn't be surprised if the game uses them all. Yeah, they do fit the overall feel of the game. Just watch the first video. :)

As for robotzombie's complaints about the side jobs being too long, you can always quit after each stage. On average, I went through about three stages per job to avoid getting sick of them so soon.

I watched a bit of that first video. That dude shouldn't yell in the mic. Otherwise, game looks sweet. Nice soft cel shading (though I like the original's stark shadowing also) though they could have made higher res textures, come on, this aint a PS2 with 2MB of RAM. Travis' first jacket is so low res, some you buy look better.

Must not watch video walkthrough. Must not spoil game for myself.

Man, it feels like the week is going by so slow. It's all because of NMH 2 and Tatusnoko vs. Capcom coming out soon. The lucky bastards who managed to get their claws on early copies of either of these games makes the wait feel even longer.

I loved the first one and I'm excited for NMH2, I wish there was more mainstream hype. More people need to know about this game.

Everything is tsundere to me
Alright, I have a question. Is the save console locked? I don't have my Wii with me right now, but I borrowed a friends to rip through Sky Crawlers. Any word on that?

Damn, I want this sooooo badly, but I'm having a hard time justifying springing for it and TvC in the same month. Why, cruel release dates, why?

Yeah... I'm having the same issue here. I'm really tempted to pick up both games on Tuesday.

It's crazy that arguably the two best third party exclusives on Wii get released the same day.

There's a ton of games coming out Monday that I'd like: No More Heroes 2, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Mass Effect 2, plus I want Bayonetta which just came out a little while ago. But No More Heroes 2 is on the top of my list and all those others will have to wait.

Just a heads up...some of the Walmarts in my area (the High Desert in Cali, and surrounding areas) have the game out for sale, BUT you need a manager to bypass the notice (I am guessing that notice is not to sell the game until the 26th). Seems like a hit-and-miss thing though...

I tried to score the game, but the lady at my local store knew the game wasn't supposed to be sold until tuesday. =/ However as my friend had luck at another Walmart, with a little insistence. (He raised a stink until they sold him the game and even got Mass Effect 2 as well), so your luck may vary...

Also, caved and watched the first video. God damn it man... This has been my most anticipated game for quite some time. I am so glad that it lives up to the hype. I've got it on a deferred payment plan at Gamestop, but I'm probably just gonna cave and buy the fucking thing on Day one :l Suda and co. deserve all the success coming their way after this one.

the third video...oh my god :lol :lol :lol :lol

*edit*

The presentation has turned up a couple notches...so far it looks extremely impressive.

So, Marvelous sold off Rising Star Games and will from now on wait for other publishers to bid on their titles' publishing rights for release over here... I guess that's why we still don't have a release date for No More Heroes 2 in Europe... Bad news after the good news of games selling well over here. What-The-Fuck, Marvelous?

Edit: lol @ Edge spinning this into blaming the Wii by adding that bit, completely ignoring the games sold good in Europe...

It's not bad if it means their games are sold in more countries than Rising Star could cover.

Also, old.

It's bad if it means delays over here, which it probably already has meant that for NMH2. Other publishers could always bid for other countries, this doesn't change much. Sorry, can't search :D

I just finished replaying NMH1. Heavenly Star is all kinds of stuck in my head. If its in the 2nd one my brain might explode from joy. Seriously, hearing that song in the game made me do a spit take. This is one of the few games im not watching anything for, i saw the first launch trailer (With the "5-Course Meal bit) and that was all i needed. Sounds like Suda went bat shit this time. Can't wait.

I'm ashamed that I watched some of that first video, but holy shit it looks cool. Distilled cool, in videogame format. Awesome.

I think he is, actually. You see little squares and triangles come up when you use it. I wonder, what is added using this? Is it purely aesthetical?

Really a shame, since it adds so much to the battle system.
This isn't Dark Stepping.

The increased finisher has a drastically wider range of attack; enemies you haven't even hit are liable to killed instantly if they're in range. It was an immensely useful maneuver for farming money, plus it looked and felt awesome to execute.

In the original it seemed to increase the 'ranged' damage of a finisher. If you did a finisher on one enemy and there were a few in the group, a powered up finisher (with the square triangles) would almost always kill everyone.

I figure its the same here.
