looked like shit, felt like shit and worst of all the BT on the stick is so weak good luck trying to sit anywhere but a few feet away.

Interesting.
This tells me that we're not there yet (playing console-level games without a console), but, we're not far.
Maybe not at the start of the next gen, but the end half of the PS6 days?

An update - just by chance I tried to install the Xbox app again my Firestick 4K Max 2021 and it worked. So they've opened it up to the older devices now.

Why is so much content these days aimed squarely at no one?

MS is trying desperately to expand their audience by any means possible other than the traditional industry success formula (that would require killer app games).
