Kobe is going to go off in the next 10 games. Believe it. :D

One good game against the worst defenive team in the league, and all of a sudden he's "ready to explode"? You act like he had 40/9/10. :lol Still, it was a great line by Kobe tonight, minus the 5 TO's. ;) 23/6/11/5 steals. Nice.

Just think, he would've had like 53 points if he had gotten his customary # of FT's. ;) :p

Believe it or not, the Clippers actually have one of the better defenses this year (at least statistically). They are holding teams to 91 points and 40% FG.

Then again, it is only 2 weeks into the season. :D

Shut up, Tony! I'm taking you both back to my hotel room and that's that.

This post will probably be swept away by the Lakers talk..so I'll make it quick and easy.

Raptors lost. No one here gives a shit. I am sad. Here are some great Bill Simmons quotes.

Actually, fuck it. I'll just post the Raptors part.
That's harsh, REAL harsh. I feel bad for Vince reading that, and the criticism isn't going to stop now that we lost yet again to DENVER. Impressions follow.

Was it just me, or did it not look like an NBA regulation game to me? Players giving up on plays, including one stance of Carmelo SITTING OUT ENTIRELY for a possession, coupled with crazy, out-of-control basketball. The game didn't look like it was serious until Carmelo stopped hogging the ball to allow Boikins and Miller handle their business, which wasn't until well into the fourth quarter. Also, Kenyon made us look ridiculous, grabbing 12 boards in the first half and dunking all over us five or six times. Even Franciso Elson made us look stupid. The worst thing is that this was a much more winnable game because not only has Denver been playing shitty basketball in general, we also match up fairly well with their players.

Anyone who watch the game catch Carter's clean left drive where he had a chance for a dunk/guaranteed trip to the foul line but instead jumped away from the defense and missed the layup? I'm convinced he's holding back on purpose, but I can't fathom why he would do so. Playing like shit really doesn't do much for his stock. Anyway, RAPTORS SUCK SELL YOUR TICKETS IT'S ALL OVER FRANCHISE BOMB TORONTO AM CRYING.

Seriously? Wow. I didn't know that-- I was going by their defense from last year etc.

Of course he is. If he played like a warrior every night.....or most nights, he'd be an elite player in this league.

Like I said, it is very early. I think people are crazy to be drawing conclusions so early into the season.

*COUGH*
SHUT UP! :(

It boggles the mind how well Seattle's doing. Their streak can't last that long, it just can't!

Damn Stevie Franchise is going OFF this year... when he's given the freedom to play like he wants, he's a total baller. Grant Hill sinking 13-18 looking like the 48-50% shooter from day's past... ahh it's a beautiful sight.

It's all fun and games until he goes 1-14 with 8 turnovers and 1 assist. It will happen, it has before. He's shown tons of flashes of having the ability to be an elite player, but his childishness is what ends up screwing him up in the end. His streetball mentality has to go before he'll ever be a great player. He's good, and has shown flashes of great...but not quite yet.

Personal opinion really. "You" laker haters are so biased, even this picture is hating on. :lol As long as we're winning games then its all good. Although I can't say the same for Yao and the rockets. They'll always find a way to blame it on kobe.

It defies logic how well Grant's been playing. The man's been sidelined for FOUR YEARS, and most of that time he was barely able to walk. He comes back and is immediately able to produce and play large minutes, and doesn't look anything like a person who suffered through multiple surgeries. Good for him.

Hey, friend, they need something to hate on seeing as how their beloved bandwagon teams and players are playing like absolute shit.

At least the Rockets only have to play the Hawks twice. :lol :lol

And on paper, a lineup with Stoudamire/Van Exel, Carter/Anderson, Patterson/Miles, Randolph and Ratliff looks pretty intriguing, on a number of levels ... including the "Wow, I've never seen two teammates fight to the death before" level.
:lol

Why is Vince Carter such a little bitch? :( Shit, not even Charles Oakley could toughen him up. At this point in time I would trade him for Shareef in a second. Shit, I'd let him go for Jamal Magloire...which is what I think they should do. Magloire would play his heart out here in his hometown...GET ON THE PHONE BABCOCK!!!

No one talks about T-Mac anymore, it seems like he has fallen off the face of the planet.

He's fallen into the Gundy Zone. The place where careers die until they are traded.

Yeah.....If we could do Vince for Magloire + maybe someone else we should do it in a second. I don't think it'll happen though :(

We get beat up inside, and trading for Magloire could really help us there.....But NO is now in the west, and I don't see why they'd trade their best big man. Sure Vince could sell tickets, and score some points for them, but I think they need the inside strength even more than we do.

There a report from a local radio station that the Raptors have offered Vince Carter and Jalen Rose to Portland for Shareef-Abdur Rahim and Van Exel. Portland has countered with swapping in Anderson for Van Exel instead, but I'm sure they'll pull the first deal if push comes to shove.

I think it's as good a deal as Toronto will get for Carter, seeing as how they get two expiring contracts in return (who are actually good players) and they can dump Rose's fat contract in the process.

Wait until halfway through the season when the Hornet's management realize that their only hope is to start rebuilding, including the centre position. ;)

Jalen puts up 30 and now he's in the trade :lol It would be a very, very risky move. SAR's contract expires at the end of this year, so we'd be basically without a star. Mitchell doesn't want Bosh to play the C, which means SAR would be the SF.... He's in a bad situation now partially because he's playing out of position (he's a natural PF), and I'm not sure why we'd want to do that. I liked the offer, ever sine the rumors started, but so many other teams need a PF (Jersey is a good example) that trading for SAR would make more sense for them.

edit: on a major Raptors site I'm hearing some funny stuff from the huge VC fans (a dying breed in this town)

VC/KG says: " ok, but Babcock would not be this stupid enuff to do this trade. If it happens,I'd be devasted"

6 minutes later...he says " Fib,Fib,plz link?"

and of course I love the guys who think we can and should trade for Allen now...Yeah....Right, that's gonna happen.

Probably my favorite rumors have been those of Vince and Jalen for Maggette and Wilcox...or find a way to bring Ratliff to T.O if Portland ever makes a trade with us.

Master Z

I would be skeptical about trading Jalen....however it would free up some serious cap space. Maggette or Ratliff on the Raptors would be hot. Fuck, I hope Babcock can pull off something good... and soon. Yes, I have pretty much lost all faith in Vince Carter... and I used to be a die hard fan of his...

Definitely, Konex. I have no doubts that even I could put up stats comparable to Bron's when facing the pitiful Bobcats.

Some people here are delusional, though.

Come on now. Consistency people. I thought "THE MAGIC ARE FOR REALS". Mr "Held back by the White Man Van Gundy" couldn't go off on the Bobcats.

IIRC...4-12, 6 turnovers, 2 assists, 9 points for Mr. Jamie Foxx II. They also lost the game.

Why was it so hard for Steve, but "so easy' for LeBron?

Good win for the Spurs ending a 4 game losing streak at Philly.

The shooting was kinda off and the amount of TOs is worrisome, but with how slow the Spurs always start the season, I'm extremely happy that they're 7-1 right now.

Rasho was huge in the 4th, with 10 points, I think and playing great D. He has improved so much, especially on the defensive end.

Timmy was his usual self, eventhough his shooting was not the best. Manu was solid and TP gave up on his offense early on, only taking two shots, but at least he contributed with rebounds and assists.

When TD puts up big numbers, it actually seems like he's putting up less. He just find a way to do it so quietly, you dont' even notice how much he has. Spurs look really good so far as a team. I just hope that they aren't using up all their juice early on in the season and can keep the train going.

You can't get tired from the beginning of the season. Not even Yao gets tired in the beginning. It is always preferable to have a great start at the beginning, because then you can coast until the all star break and then start turning it up to get in shape for the playoffs.

Anyone see LeBron's fast break dunk? God damn...

Really modest numbers tonight, but a very good line nonetheless. He didn't have to blow up 'cause they were playing Charlotte. I can't wait to see him go up against T-Mac or Kobe, that'll be the true test.
