What a win by the Raptors!

Yeah, they destroyed the Knicks tonight. :D Alston = allstar. And it's good to see Vince dunking again. Sam Mitchell is a great coach, not too aggressive but not too laid back. I can see alot of the players really growing under his guidance.

melo is better! just look at his team! sorry, you can't see them because kenyon martin just dunked in front of the camera and covered everything up.

You should be banned for that Melo remark.

Melo = the next Antonie Walker. Everyone knows it. :lol

Lebron has been simply amazing so far this season. He is ranked in the top 3 in fantasy sports this year. And he even held the top spot for a bit too.

He is the ONE

Umm, he was. Look at their stats and how far their teams got. Melo WAS better and more consistent last year...

PS: BSPN loses all credibility. Bron > Kobe? :lol

Get back to me when Bron does something in a game that matters.

Jesus, the season hasn't even started and after 10 games Bron is the greatest player of all time? Look at Utah's slide for an example of how little those first 10 games matter. Come back to me at the all star break and we will talk.....

So, who'd you guys vote for the All-Star ballot? Here's mine:

Code:
[u][b]East[/b][/u]
[u]Gaurds[/u]
D. Wade, Mia
L. James, Cle
[u]Forwards[/u]
D. Gooden, Cle
G. Hill, Orl
[u]Center[/u]
S. O'Neal, Mia

[u][b]West[/b][/u]
[u]Gaurds[/u]
R. Allen, Sea
S. Nash, Pho
[u]Fowards[/u]
T. Duncan, San
K. Garnett, Min
[u]Center[/u]
Y. Ming, Hou

[u]Write-in[/u]
R. Alston, Tor

In hindsight, I feel that Amare Stoudemire should make it, but I don't think he'll be able to over Duncan and Garnett.

Sportscenter just did a Top 10 featuring only highlights of Lebron from tonight... and it was actually better than some of their regular top 10 lists.

Kobe never got his on Top 10 plays.

LBJ >>> Wade >>> Kobe (based on play this year)

If Kobe didn't have Shaq for all those years he would have been another Vince.

it's going to be crazy as Lebron gets older and better. he's only like 19 now, so just imagine when he's in his prime. serious potential to be a real most dominant player. I still think he's definitely top 10 in the nba right now, and maybe even top 5 (honestly my top 5 is more like a top 4 + a bunch of guys who have such talent it's hard to put one above the rest) after KG, Duncan, Shaq and Kobe (yes I hate him but I admit he is one of the best).

I think that last part is BS. While they took the Lakers to 6 last year, the Lakers were never giving it their all (like they did against SA). Even with a healthy Cassel, they lose that series (I don't even think they bring it to 7). Keep in mind that TWolves took 7 games to beat a terribly flawed Kings team and struggled against the Nuggets as well. Phil Jackson agrees with me, btw, as he inssits that SA was the best team (Detroit included) that the Lakers faced in the playoffs.

Eh, a team's first extended playoff run is never gonna be perfect (well, save for the '91 Bulls). The 2000 Lakers looked really ordinary in their playoff run, but they got the job done. I think the current version of the TWolves could take it to the next level in the spring, now that they've got a tough playoff run under their belt. Let's not forget that their first two playoff rounds were emotionally draining...the series with the Nuggets was the nastiest seen since the heydey of the Knicks/Heat rivalry, and the series with the Kings had it's chippy moments as well.

No worse then the "Kobe > Jordan!!!" garbage from six months ago. :lol

Can't hate on Lebron James...he's putting up Kobe/T-Mac-type numbers while being five years their junior. He isn't going to touch his peak till the end of the decade. And the Cavs haven't missed a beat with Drew Gooden, which you could argue has been made a better player by Bron's presence (that's no shot at T-Mac, but Bron's play making and court vision is still his most unique asset). The sky is basically the limit with Bron...it's just a question of motivation and health. As it is you could easily put him in the top five players in the league right now. At 20 years old, that's just fucking nuts.

As for the Raps, they kicked New York's ass up and down Bay Street. Lovely windmill dunk by Vince in the third quarter, capping off his second straight strong performance after a pretty medicore season to date. Again, it blows my mind that people actually thought he'd never dunk again. Fuck the media. Fuck dumb shit sports fans too. It was kinda cool seeing Alston and Marbury going at it, being New York point guards and all. Marbury is as talented a player as there is in the league, yet he just does nothing for me in terms of being a guy who could lead a team somewhere. Maybe I'm being unfair...perhaps he hasn't had good enough supporting casts. Then again, look at how Kidd transformed the Nets when he was traded there for Marbury. And look at what Nash is doing for the Suns now. Things that make you go "Hmmmm".

Funny how Tmac isn't even being mentioned with Kobe anymore. Now it's Bron :lol
my 5th best player is such a fricking rotation but t-mac isn't in it this year, I'd put him in the lower half of the top 10. if he wasn't playing gundyball, though, he'd definitely be up there (IMO, so would Yao. he seems soft and passive but I think that's the slow van gundy system. put him under a coach who uses a more aggressive style and he would be using his size and natural skills a lot more). basically my 5-10 best players in the nba is pretty much uncertain. only a few guys are always on it - t-mac, lebron, dwayne wade, nash and nowitzki.

The Nuggets series was brutal. You thought a riot was going to break out any moment, I swear. :lol

And its too bad all the hype and attention was focussed on the Spurs/Lakers series; the Kings/Wolves series truly was golden. Went down to the last second, too. (A fitting conclusion to a Kings/Wolves series, considering how their games have gone in the past)

I will always remember the celebration that ensued when the Wolves beat the Kings in game 7. You'd swear we'd just won the championship, the way people were screaming, smiling, and celebrating. The players, too. Garnett jumping up on the announcer's table, pumping his fists into the air, grabbing the mic from the arena announcer and yelling "T-WOLVEEEES! YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH!"

It lasted about 15-20 minutes after the game ended. What a glorious 15-20 minutes those were. No one left the arena. NO ONE.

Instead, they got a show from Dwyane Wade. Miami's star guard scored 31 points, handed out 11 assists and had the most spectacular defensive play of the night, leading the Heat past the Atlanta Hawks 99-93 on Wednesday. Wade just missed the first triple-double of his career, also pulling down eight rebounds. "The good thing about Dwyane is, he gets his but he keeps everybody else involved," O'Neal said. "That's the sign of a great player, rather than taking 40 shots to get 20 points."

The Lakers chose Kobe over Shaq, of course he will be bitter.

I wonder if the Heat are going to resign him at his currest salary of 100 bajillion dollars? Shaq has made it clear in the past he is not willing to take a pay cut. I forget his "logic", but it was pretty funny.

It's true, Suns are so God-damn balanced it's obscene. Hurts Amare's chances to be top scorer, but he'll live I'm sure:

PHOENIX SUNS
Quentin Richardson, 8 Rebs. 20 Pts.
Shawn Marion, 12 Rebs. 23 Pts.
Amare Stoudemire, 6 Rebs., 16 Pts.
Steve Nash, 12 Assts., 22 Pts.
Joe Johnson, 13 Pts.

It's pretty ridiculous when 4/5 starters are averaging over 16 points a game this season.

Raptors have similiar balance...four players are averaging between 14 and 16 points a game, then the next three are at 8 points a game, and the following three are at 5.5 to 6.5 a game. It's pretty cool to see.

Usually Quentin Richardson doesn't show up in the scoring department and Amare had a really bad shooting night. If Quentin get his stroke going (before yesterday he was shooting 29% for the season), the Suns are going to become really tough to beat.

Yeah, it's scary how well Phoenix has been doing despite Q-Rich playing like garbage. I love him, he's one of my favorite players, and I have him in my fantasy pool. Just imagine how much more dangerous PHX will be when he gets his shot back, they'll be even more terrifying. All this despite their tallest starter being 6'9". :lol

Shawn Marion, 12 Rebs. 23 Pts.
Nasty. Dude is 6'7", playing out of position at power forward. Yet he's still grabbing 10+ for the season (12.1 per). That's disgusting. Marion is crazy.

The Kings beat the Suns in Phoenix, the Kings have 4 players averaging 15+ points a game, the Kings have won 6 in a row.

We now return to our regularly scheduled programing:

OMG Kobe is so incredible, his .401 fg percentage is not indicative of how well he has been playing. He is missing shots on purpose to get his team involved and give them a shot at some offensive boards.

:lol No kidding.

I just laugh at all the media/fans whoring of indivuals like ShaKobe, Lebron, etc. and their going- nowhere teams, while my Spurs quietly and in humble manner engineer their way to their third title with Tim Duncan playing like his old MVP self(maybe better) even after playing all summer long. :)

Lebron is deserving of some of that hype, and if they Spurs hadn't blown that lead in Toronto, I'm sure they would be getting more airtime (they are kind of boring to watch though). Phoenix is a ton of fun to watch (like the Kings while J Will was still around), but they don't have much of a half court game which will kill them in the playoffs. They don't have anyone big enough to compete with Duncan, Garnett, Webb/Miller, or even Nowitzk/Dampier in the low post.

Oh please, like Amare Stoudemire can't "compete" with a washed up scrub like Webber or the overpaid, overrated Miller/Dampier duo.

Duncan and Garnett are another story, but last time I checked a just as small (and nowhere near as good) Suns team played the Spurs very, very well in the playoffs two years ago.

Lebron does deserve the hype. He is the complete package. I just dislike how the NBA focus so much on individuals and not so much in the beauty of team basketball.

And the Suns played the Spurs though in the playoffs when they were pulling shots out of their asses, like three buzzer beater bank shots in one game and stuff like that. After that, the Spurs took control of the series and beat them without much trouble. But I do think this year's Phoenix team is better than that one and despite being undersized, Amare can give KG and Duncan a hell of a battle anyday.

Associated Press

INDIANAPOLIS -- Minnesota Timberwolves center Michael Olowokandi was arrested early Thursday morning after he refused to leave a club.

Police officers used a stun gun to subdue Olowokandi, 29, and take him into custody at about 3 a.m. after he refused to leave Tiki Bob's, said Indianapolis Police spokesman Sgt. Stephen Staletovich.

Olowokandi was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing, both misdemeanors, Staletovich said.

Olowokandi was held overnight in an Indianapolis jail and released Thursday afternoon on his own recognizance. The Timberwolves were in Indianapolis to play the Indiana Pacers later Thursday at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Staletovich said the club's manager asked police, who were investigating another call, to help him get the 7-foot Olowokandi to leave. He refused, and police shocked him twice with a stun gun until he complied and they took him into custody.

The Associated Press left a message seeking comment Thursday with Timberwolves spokesman Paul Thompson.

Sweet sweet Kandi
