The only problem (for me) is that x axis should have been sorted by either year or platform and -not- value.Stumpokapow said:That's a really cool graph, great job. That's really impressive, man. Seriously.
ever heard of God of War 3? If your franchise is consistently good they will come over time, the Resistance franchise is anything but consistent, same with KillzoneMeBecomingI said:Damnit... those Resistance 3 numbers are disgusting. As aside to the idea, given the history of PlayStation 3 exclusives sales numbers and the fact that no one seems to buy them, Uncharted 3 is going to do very poorly.
Thus, I hope it shatters the trend of terrible selling PS3 exclusives and nails out more than a million in the first few days, just so we know that people who owns PS3's actually buy some of the exclusive stuff...
Its not just the north american market not buying though.pickle said:sony is doing what i would do, putting out quality exclusive games. it's a shame that the north american market isn't really buying them. i hope resistance 3 is a slow burner because insomniac deserves to reap the rewards for this one.

OldJadedGamer said:EU (minus UK) is strong but NA and Japan are weak for exclusive game sales on the system. In Japan, GT5 has yet to pass prologue's numbers over there for example.

did that happen in the last couple of years?

Heck, we haven't sent anyone to TGS to do press since RFOM/PS3 launch.

Hardly anything special? Joke post? The R3 thread is filled with positive praise...very few dislike it.Infamous Chris said:Nobody cares what your opinion of a good FPS is, bro. There is a reason everyone is calling it a flop; it sold less than 250k (<180k~) based off comparing Deus Ex numbers. And the game is hardly anything special, to boot, which seems to be the general consensus.
Anyway, Gears only selling for a bit more than a week did good..the rest of the sales numbers should trickle into next months NPD. Lol @ Dead Island :O
That makes as much sense as assuming Gears 3 would do poorly based on Alan Wake, Splinter Cell Conviction, Bulletstorm etc.MeBecomingI said:Damnit... those Resistance 3 numbers are disgusting. A very, very good game but totally ignored by so many people. Pathetic really...

When we will have your article.. and any interesting numbers to expect in them? I will like if we can see the console software sales % for 2011 for each platform and ranking of top 10 software for each platform in 2011.jvm said:GAF -> Internet -> GAF?

Why would you doom them to failure over the multiplayer when the Resistance series has been more about single player?Syphon Filter said:I'm glad R3 flopped,it's what they get for copying cod with multiayer and not being themselves.uncharted 3 will sell over 1 million guaranteed in nov.

If GoW3 could do 1m in a March, UC3 can in November.Gamer @ Heart said:Why would it? Uncharted games have never exploded out of the gate like that. PS3 exclusives rarely do. But they do well world wide and have legs.
Also, you must be new to sales age to think that 180k is a flop.

Some games just don't make it to mainstream levels, and franchise fatigue is very real especially with franchises that are in that borderline zone of popularity (without being breakout hits) like Resistance, Killzone and Splinter Cell were.
I think UC's popularity is increasing not waning

Plus even "back then", God of War II launched with relatively high numbers; even when "next gen consoles" were already out:kneePat said:This logic is a bit broken. UC3 faces much more competition in November than GoW3 did in March which is the basis for the uncertainty in UC3's numbers for the people in this thread.
No it isn't. UC2 sold more than any GoW game has individuallyKusagari said:God of War is a bigger series than Uncharted. Uncharted is also sandwiched between the two biggest games of the entire year.
Shipment figures for both were in the 4millions if I recall, except there has been one difference. Uncharted 2 has been bundled, giveaway, re-released, and repackaged. GoWIII hasn't received half the help UC2 been given. I don't really think you can say its a stronger franchise, since its been pushed far harder.Yoboman said:No it isn't. In fact outside of Gran Turismos, I believe UC2 would now be the most successful game Sony has ever produced commercially since the Crash series on PSone.
