On thing I had not considered was if my case is too small for the cards I am even going to attempt to get. This is my case: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TD9C5HS/?tag=neogaf0e-20
I am interested in the EVGA FTW3, ASUS Strix, or MSI Trio. I currently have a 2070 Super which is already small in comparison to most of these cards.
1. According to Microcenter (Link), your case can accommodate cards that are up to 15 inches (381mm) long. Click on the "Specs" section. So, the length of the 3080 or 3090 should not be an issue. However, there's no information about how wide of a card your case can accommodate.
2. I was using an NZXT H440 as my case up until Sunday, when I bought a Lian Li O11 Dynamic XL ROG and transferred my build into it. It could accommodate cards up to 16.85 inches (428mm) long via removal of obstructing hard-drive trays; so, it could have fit either the RTX 3080 or 3090 (assuming that it was wide enough). However, I wanted to refresh my build, so to speak, in preparation for the 3090 (hopefully I get one) with a case that's even more spacious and has better airflow. Here it is:
