NX gamer Cyberpunk Next gen test

XsX frame rate all over the place in that van chase..... No, VRR isn't the fix.

The performance is going to swing like a pendulum on both systems from now until the next gen upgrades. Probably long afterwards still.

People really need to stop swinging their dicks over this game.

From both this and the DF one, it's apparent that XSX has inherited the same settings as the X1X (as we all knew it would) but it also runs noticably worse than the PS5 version which looks to have the same settings as the PS4pro version.

Yes it's pretty much the same conclusion.
In the same car chasing scene XSX is 10fps behind PS5 consistently, see 8:55 onwards.
But XSX has inherited higher settings compared to the PS4 Pro.
CDProject simply needs to patch the situation otherwise even in performance mode the two versions are not directly comparable.
Right now if you want the best performance PS5 is the best one, if you want best graphics it's XSX.

So NX has the XSX higher in res than PS5 in performance mode where DF didn't. He also says the res is not dynamic in 1.02.

My observation from checking out a bunch of random footage between platforms is that the res can vary wildly depending on what scene you analyze.

The lad does some serious underappreciated work, but associating the word "nextgen" to these lastgen console versions running in back compat mode on the PS5 and the Xbox Series currently, is quite disingenuous and clickbaity. Should have just said "Back compat analysis" or "PS5 and Xbox Series analysis" or something along those lines.

The only "nextgen" version currently available, is the PC version.

Will watch the video now.

VG Tech found areas the PS5 hits low forties too

Looks like resolution is now higher on Xbox as well.

This game needs a propper ps5 release and not just a patch.

This would greatly benefit from thebps5 ssd io combo.

So 1.04 didn't improve npc count on ps4? I think this is the first proper video i've seen of the patch testing out the npc count and it seems like it hasn't

This game is a cluster fuck.
Why do CDPR take so much pride in having an engine that is CPU heavy.
It seems to be a trait of predominant PC devs that they don't optimise well for CPU. Same goes for Crytek and Crysis.

Best on Xbox. And from what NXGamer seems to be suggesting... I don't expect a change once the next-gen patch releases (whenever it does a decade from now).

At this point.... getting this game on PS5 once the next-gen patch releases is starting to become a question. 3rd class citizen treatment for the same price.

I'm sorry, what is NXGamer suggesting?

Game is awful on PS5 and SX, I'm playing it now on PS5 and it's a love hate relationship, I want to just put it down and wait for upgrade but I wouldn't be surprised if next gen patch was late next year..

My goodness. This game should have release 6 months from now, on all platforms.

I'm playing on PC and my performance is great, but the bugs alone suggest this game was rushed.

I'm sure it'll mostly get fixed up within a year, but this is NOT the way to launch the biggest game of the year.

CDPR have launched a decent game. I'm only about 10 hours in and really enjoying on PS5....... however.

they have probably lost a fair bit of good faith from the console only community. By all accounts this runs like a dream on PC. That's great but I think the long development time has pushed this in to a semi next gen launch title. The review footage shielding etc. Is all dirty tricks in my eyes. I'm not saying this is a bad game and I was not overly hyped but I think they overhyped the game to an extent. They were on Rockstar levels of blind faith but that has been smashed to bits this week I think. Nowhere near Rockstar levels of polish and performance even with their shit controls (I'm looking at you RDR2).

I'm still looking forward to the next gen patch and loving the world and story. But it's the only game I've had crash on my PS5 which is telling. It's been rock solid since launch.

They all get a better experience like me.

That's true, and why not wait because the game is a mess and will be for a few months. VRR a non factor in that case unless you're playing this $60 beta to improve it for the rest of us. I'll get it for $30 and all patched up.

Why don't we ever see this drastic difference when DF does the comparison. Multiple times have DF and NX done videos on the same game and multiple times the difference is more drastic on NX side (and the difference being in PS5's favor)

You do know it literally drops to 0 fps on Series X, right? Is VRR magic sauce going to fix that?

I've never seen that and it would be obvious and no other analysis has seen that either, maybe DF has a faulty unit? Nobody has reported that happening on this forum either.

Well either Digital Foundry is bias towards Xbox or NGGamer is bias towards playstation.

It's up to you to decide but they both provide footage with actual frame counters in them. I doubt they are manipulating the numbers.
