"This all began in the Steam Community thread. He was replying, and that's how Teknopathetic was doing it, so he followed.

This should show you how fucking annoying it is. I REMEMBER WHEN HE STARTED."

No, it was way before then that I started. That was the first time I explained why I did it though.

"or a gif of the 'oh shit' orpik face"

you suck :P Give the people what they want!

btw, anyone else find it hilarious when they actually made a point of complimenting sid for not whining after a particular play? seriously, that's what it's come to?

They said that so pussies like some that post on here can see he's the real deal while they are virgin nerds sweating in some dark room posting on NEOGAF.

Well, that was by far the most exciting game of the series. One of the best I've seen this playoffs.
The Pens actually looked like a team that deserve to be in the final, they could have scored a couple more actually. Although the goals they did score could all go under the description of "fluke-goals".
At the same time, Detroit made some mistakes in their own zone that they very rarely do, and probably won't do next game, and also had some great scoring chances that they didn't convert on (what was Holmstrom doing :/).
This is exactly what the series needed, but somehow I still think this will be over in 5 games.

P.S. Holy shit at Franzen. Not just the goal, he was amazing all game. Seeing him this game really made me wonder how the hell Detroit could win against Dallas without him.

Crosby could score 20 goals in a game and Manics would still shit all over him. I wouldn't worry about it.

A real superstar would have seized the moment and gotten the hattrick last night. Once again Cindy reaffirms his fraudsby status.

the difference between a post-loss presser from babcock vs therrien is night and day. instead of blubbering about how much his pussy hurts, babcock places blame on himself and his players.

even when a reporter tried to get him to bitch about the holmstrom call-back after game 1, he refused to whine and simply said "next question". he later shivved the reporter in an alley behind joe louis arena after the game.

jack adams confirmed

btw, for anyone interested, WGN and CSN reported that next season's winter classic will be wings@hawks at wrigley on new years day. i'm hoping i can work that into my schedule.

Yeah, I noticed that. Babcock is just a classy guy.. Therrien, not so much.

Good win by the Pens. I'm still waiting for the entire team to bring their "A" game. I think this series is going to be epic.

This loud in Detroit... seriously?

:p

I haven't heard the Igloo that loud since the Penguins came back during Game 1 against the Blackhawks in the 1992 Finals, but I don't see how it was louder than Detroit in Game 2.

But who cares about loudness, if it were the reason a team could get far we would have seen a Nashville/Montreal Final this year. :D

Still coming into his own, but he'd shown marked improvement over last year. Defencemen almost always take a while to develop (unless your name is Dion Phaneuf) but he was getting better and better.

What a shame for his family.

Yeah, I really think he could have developed into one of the better defencemen in the league. I remember watching him play for Team Canada and you would definitely see the potential there. And like bish said, it usually takes time for a defenceman to develop (moreso than a lot of forwards ... and even the truly great forwards take time to develop their 2-way abilities).

Either way, it's a horrible and tragic loss. My thoughts go out to his family.

That's sad to hear, still so young

Since the NHL can push the NHLPA around hopefully they push for a ban on players using motorcycles.

That kind of thing should be left up to individual contract negotiations

Then you get into psychological issues though. "You aren't a good enough player for us to give a shit about you dying because of a dangerous hobby (in the case of a paid athlete it is nothing more than a hobby)."

I dunno, I wouldn't really be inspired to perform for a team that said that about me. Best to just make it uniform.

Wow, terrible news. A few weeks back I was reading Staal vs Bourdon threads, and now he's gone. Very tragic.

I hate motorcycles, a friend of mine died in accident a few years back.

That's horrible news.

Steeler fans know all to well the bad mix of athletes and motorcycles. Well, just people and motorcycles actually. I understand some people love em, but I think they're death traps.

As someone who slid across oncoming traffic after wiping out at 120km/hr, I agree with you.

RIP Luc Bourdon. :(

RIP Luc Bourdon

What a terrible waste of great talent :(

My full condolences go to his family and friends.

Bourdon's agent mentioned he may have bought the motorcycle just two days ago. Really sad story.

He started riding just a week ago. Looks like he bought a more powerful bike than he could handle at his skill level.

The Bourdon loss is horrible. :(

He had a killer slap shot too...
This is a pretty depressing birthday. :(

Did anyone see the Canucks PPV where they had the dance off and Bourdon won?
Pure Awesome.

Those slapshot goals from the point were also awesome. :P

Too bad no more great memories will be made...

R.I.P. Luc. :(

fuck does this suck

i just saw it on ctv... Lloyd Robertson came on and he said he was going to announce a pair of sad deaths, and I was expecting Harvey Korman since I had just saw that on CNN

and then i saw Bourdon's face. i was thinking, wtf.. this can't be right

been nearly 2 hours and i'm still pretty stunned. you know, you follow a kid's career, see him score big goals for Canada, and then as a Canuck sometimes you talk about him as if he's just a stat on a paper -- what's his potential, should we trade him for a forward, what's his potential versus what the canucks need right now

and holy fuck does this put shit into perspective. i'm just really bummed out right now.

shit...terrible news :(

motorcycles are such death traps. i know people love them, but seriously. last time i rode a crotch rocket i got up over 130 on the freeway and i was freaked out after. i decided i would never own one because they're just too much fun to drive like an idiot and i'd probably end up wrapped around a phone pole.

TSN is reporting that Barry Melrose is going to become the new coach of the Tampa Bay Lightening pretty soon.

Nice team for him to take over. They hopefully have a goalie now (Smith), and they have one of the best stars in the league (Lecavalier), a couple of great support guys (St. Louis - former MVP, Boyle) and one of the top prospects (Stamkos)

He certainly won't be taking of a team with the cupboard empty. I think it is a good hiring and hope he does well.

Seems like Holmstrom will be out for at least game 4. This can only bode well for the Pens, and continues the trend of fortuitous opposition injuries in the playoffs.

Normally I'd say it's a huge loss for Detroit, but this has NOT been Homstrom's playoffs.
With Franzen back, Detroit has someone who can atleast partially fill Homer's void on the PP, and is a much bigger presence in 5-on-5.
Having Homer in front of the net has almost seemed like a bad thing for Detroit in the playoffs.. sadly.

Stupid Tampa.
Please move the team somewhere better.

Tampa is fine. Florida needs to move. Tampa actually sells out their games and *gasp* they won a cup! With Stamkos being hyped to hell (he's already on billboards), a new owner who will for all likely purposes spend to the cap and a new coach (which I'm not sold on Barry just yet), Tampa will rise back up. The only thing is they have next to nothing talent wise in Norfolk.

Can't wait for the game tomorrow night, should be epic.

I hope leafs are smart enough to get Tortella(sp?) if he gets canned. Can you imagine how he would handle raycroft's play?

Leafs need a kick in the ass and that guy i think is the man for the job.

I love how the Wings were up 2-0 and the series was over. Then suddenly the Pens eek out a victory, still beoing out shot like 106-65 and outscored 9-3 and the media is all doom and gloom for the Wings and wondering if they've blown it. :lol

I cannot wait to see that beautiful mullet coaching again. And in Tampa :lol
